    I’ve owned the Aviron for about a year and have put over 500K meters on it. I started out on a Concept 2, but what I love about this rower is the variety of programs and other features. There is so much variety on top of RUclips integration... it is impossible to get bored. The customer service is impeccable. The Aviron community is positive, supportive, and motivating. I love that we can row virtually with each other. Love the ability to fold the Aviron. Easy to fold and move. Love that the content creators listen to the community and build in requests from the community into programs - again speaking to the never-ending variety of this rower. Love the seat. Only issue is shorter handle. Minor for me since I don’t have wide shoulders. Love that the handle rolls. Aviron all the way!

    I'm a huge fan of more high-end rowers in the market. Rowing is hands down the most efficient workout. My family owns an Aviron and we love it. Nothing I've seen beats its extensive library of content: video games, live races and competition, strength programs, etc. it even has RUclips for when I just want to have a relaxed row. It is also the least expensive option.

    I'm liking the Hydrow. I'm in week 3 of it, and I finally figured out in the last couple days how to really push hard off with my legs to lower that split time. I'm now getting a lower split time, with lower strokes per minute on a breathe or sweat workout, vs before when I was doing drive workouts.

    Ok I am fairly new to rowing. I used a C2 in crossfit some and a water rower when I went to Orange Theory. I did enjoy rowing when I did it so now I am looking at rowers since I was an idiot and bought a trendy Peloton when I hate to ride a bike...although its programming was motivating enough to get me to use it 15 times or so in the past year that I owned it. It's now a nice ornament in my bedroom. With that being said, I am selling my Peloton and have decided to replace it with a rowing machine since it is a total body workout unlike the Peloton...the C2 is too loud for my liking and I am 49 so the likelihood of me becoming a professional or competition rower is miniscule. So....I have a rotator cuff issue in my left shoulder, bad knees, and low back pain (yeah gymnastics, cheer and kickboxing have demolished me) which of these rowers would you choose for your mom...assuming you like your mom and are not trying to torture her? I do like the sound of the water rower but I am open to your opinion. Would you help an old lady out?!

    I only use the WaterRower at physical therapy, so I literally have no idea what I'm talking about, and I'm only 5'11 and 150 lbs, but the WaterRower has some or the worst ergonomics, even for me. I often only have two fingers on the handlebar at a time and my already tight hips are borderline fighting me with the foot plate, both width and height.

    Thanks for this great comparison ! I think it misses the Technogym Skillrow to be complete on "high end" rowing machines :)
    One thing though, I do not get why people need widely separate footrests and large handles since you would definitely have your feet close in a rowing boat and the handles... well, I'd say your hands would be close and even touching most of the stroke.. I guess indoor rowing is to be separated from actual rowing

    • @trainingtall
      @trainingtall  3 года назад +2

      I honestly think they need to start making wider footplates for boats, too. Most people using rowing machines are using it for weight loss and most people who are rowing on the water do not need to lose weight haha

Love do much about Hydrow but not that you can't really row and adjust resistance without subscription and can't use other apps on their screen. Aviron seems great, but no instructor led classes but can look up youtube classes on it. Didn't know if you could do ifit via their screen??? Also considering Concept 2👍. Concept 2 or Water Rower. Those are the only two rowers I think are worth the money. The others look good but don't perform. And their apps are not as robust. Concept 2 is the standard for all of the indoor rowing championships around the world. So that has to tell you something.

    • @DPAFLESHER
      @DPAFLESHER 3 года назад +1

      I think there main nuance to this depends on why you're looking at buying a rowing machine. If you want to become an ELITE rower and want a very specific program, then the C2 is the way to go. If you want to use rowing as a method of attaining health and fitness, the approachability and interactivity of something like the Hydrow might be a better option. It's a bit like CrossFit. If you wanted to become an elite CrossFit games athlete, then you'll probably need to be on a set program tracking very specific workouts. If you want to just become a better athlete and develop overall fitness, then signing up for a CrossFit box and going to group classes wouldn't be a bad idea (assuming CrossFit does what it says it does).

    • @trainingtall
      @trainingtall  3 года назад +3

      I agree with Concept 2, but I would argue that the Ergatta upgrade for WaterRower takes it to the next level. Many people are looking for a more engaging experience than simply staring at a metrics monitor and I think these machines help to fill that niche!
