    My MIL taught me to make homemade pancakes over fifty years ago. I haven’t bought a box of pancake mix since. We don’t add the sugar bc syrup or jam gives enough sweetness for our taste. We also use all buttermilk. So delicious, fresh and easy to make. My children now make these for their families. 🥰 Thanks, Nicole, I love your recipes and videos. You make me smile.

    If you work outdoors or any kind of "hard" job, try this:
    Smear a little peanut butter between the pancakes while they're hot. Then add your butter and syrup. _Especially during the winter,_ this will get you through your morning.

    Was thinking about making breakfast when I caught this post. What a good idea, I thought. I made pancakes though I used self-rising flour, yogurt & milk instead of AP flour with baking powder or buttermilk. The pancakes were fabulous! Thanks for the idea.👍

    I haven’t tried this recipe yet, but when I’ve made pancakes from scratch, I can taste the baking soda and I’ve made them according to directions. Any suggestions?

    • @lisakp71
      @lisakp71 Год назад +4

      Do you add any vanilla or (as my mom did growing up) lemon extract? Just a touch (or a decent glug for vanilla) really elevates the flavor and takes away that straight baking ingredients sensation. Or adding in a little browned & slightly cooled butter to the wet ingredients.
      Also try letting your mixture sit for a few minutes before you start cooking, I think that helps the acidic buttermilk or lemon juice activate the baking soda & powder a bit.
      Just some ideas, hope you find a recipe that works for you!! ❤️🥞❤️

    Look sooo good and that crispy bacon omg I’ve died and gone to heaven 😂
    One little tip, break eggs one at a time into a separate bowl, this will then save you if your last egg is bad and you have just broken it into all the other ingredients 😮, I learnt the hard way 😂,oh and bad eggs explode, I got it all over me, the bench, my food, had to toss it all, but some bad eggs just smell,not quite right before they get to the exploding stage.
