Wow, this was a nice surprise - was not expecting to hear young Jonny. He's brilliant - and was only about 16 here (this was off his '97 debut album) I found him a few years ago now when I was on a Blues kick. Anyhoo, the minute I heard him, I was hooked.
It was his debut as Johnny Lang. Before this he went by Kid Lang.
16 when it was released- 15 when he recorded it.
So glad you found Jonny Lang. My hubby and I love his music. I've seen 14 of his concerts (one with Sting and Kep Mo in Chicago's outside Grant Park). He signed one of my guitars - I met Jonny 4 times after concerts. He is super nice and kind to his fans. Discovered him when the Blues Brothers 2000 movie came out in 1998 - Jonny is the Custodian performing in 634-5789 at end of movie. A must see.

His sister is the blonde girl on the couch and supplies backing vocals.

This was followed by the more soulful Long Time Coming on October 14, 2003. Lang also made a cover of Edgar Winter's "Dying to Live". Lang's 2006 album, the gospel-influenced Turn Around, won him his first Grammy Award.[4]@
He was only 16 when he recorded this and that is really his voice and him playing the guitar.

Yes he was only 15 years old when this was recorded. He had only been playing guitar for 3 years at this point.
He wasn't but 15 when he recorded this. Here he was 16.

For crazy guitar solos from Johnny Lang you really need to see live performances. I saw him when he was 16 unbelievable talent. Try his Germany concert 1999. Are you serious? A voice like Joe Cocker? You must be kiddin‘. A very good session musician with an average voice to me. Unfortunately he had a „supernatural experience with the holy ghost“ in 2000 and since that time he is more engaged in contemporary christian music. He was best in the 90s.
