I'd be hard pressed to find better and more accurate covers on the RUclips! I also really like how you always find the right tunings (like in Maps, people always play it standard when it's not). Keep up the good work!
I’ve always been curious about the high bendy tones on this song - like is it guitar with whammy or keyboard with the bending thing into some dirt and reverb or maybe a sampled/treated voice… any ideas? I love this album so much even now. When I first bought it on cassette in 93 I thought the tape was warped and then realized it wasn’t and I’ve loved this album like crazy ever since.
I've assumed they are violins... might be wrong, but it has a good Irish feel to it! The album stands up incredibly well after all this time. That's remarkable given how uncompromising it is. I still love it to death!
@@SparkyGuitar Kevin said what it was in some interview - pretty sure it is two speakers pointed at one another with some other shit going on. You can probably find it with a bit of searching
It wasn’t elitist when they initially created the music, back in the 80’s Jazzmasters and Jaguars were guitars no one wanted and sat on shelves. Everyone was playing Strats, Superstrats, or Les Pauls. These were the budget/ pawnshop guitars that cost a couple hundred bucks. You could get one with a couple paychecks. THEY made those guitars cool with the songs they wrote and the music they created.
Hi there. It depends on what type of tuner you have. Most tuners have a calibration button/function… but small clip-on ones don’t usually. If you have a calibration button then click that and it should indicate what your reference is. That is usually 440Hz (which is an A). You can then click again (or click up/down) to change the value. Hope that helps…
Great tab. Insane how you figured this out through all the noise on the original track!

top 3 on loveless 😴😴
This song is so fuzzy and warm. This and Sometimes are my favorites
Maybe you could do ‘Sparky’s Dream’ by Teenage Fanclub next?! 😜
this is so good. is there a reverse reverb on this or only the tremolo arm?
I kind of think it’s straight reverb into the fuzz. Could be wrong of course. 😊
no verb on the original recording
The wanky think with Sonic Youth/Shoegaze is you need a differently tuned guitar for each song. Which makes it a really elitist music form!

Hey what model jazzmaster is that?
It's an original 1966 model - though it could be an earlier body with a 66 neck...
@@SparkyGuitar wow that’s so cool man!
Which tuning is this? Half semitone down?
its in the description
K0kE_ Thank you
Sparky always puts tuning information in the description of all videos!
Yes I do ;-)
