It always surprises me that Apex 2015 PPMD vs Leffen of all sets is the most watched full set from bracket
That tournament was fucking insane in every single way.
If you were watching it live, you would know. You could feel the tension of the room through the stream. It felt like everybody wanted Leffen to lose

Toph really is a gem. I think I can say he is my favorite person in the community - he is a wealth of Melee knowledge and history(as well as just a great radar for high concepts in general), very sharp-minded, plus a really likeable personality.
I think the 2 figures in the community that give a viewing experience the most merit to me are Mang0 and Toph.
he sure knows his stuff, really shows his love for the game and community. Love toph
All these M2K sets make me miss seeing him compete more and more

Toph, let it be known, the derivative gives the rate of change at a point. Integral gives the total change between two points.
(That is, looking at these operators from a purely geometrical point of veiw. My math training dictates I must point out that there are other, equally valid perspectives of these operators)

I'm surprised to see 3x of PPMD's sets in the Top 10 despite having not played in years. It's to show that PPMD was that good when he was active. He will always be one of my favorite players ever. Even more surprised none of the Mango Armada sets in the Top 10 nor Axe vs Silentwolf

I can’t believe some of these. I would’ve said PP Armada at Apex and Hbox Armada at Evo for sure were top 10, I had no idea shiz vs m2k was that big, and I really can’t believe mang0 hbox from 2014 was on there at all. I probably would’ve thrown a summit 11 or smashcon 2018 on there too and would’ve been almost right, I knew newer stuff wasn’t THAT popular but still suprised the most recent set on that list is from 2015
I think this shows how critical to the history of Melee that Apex 2015 was. It was such a GOAT tournament. its sad that the series was not able to continue at the same level as Genesis and Big House.

@@MrJholshouser41 It's surprising that Mango vs Armada, the rivalry everyone talks about, does not have any sets in the top 14 (maybe top 15), especially considering that some people consider their GF set at Royal Flush one of the best sets of all time
@@Michael-hc2hpbecause most of the sets are genuinely not that good. It was usually a wash in one direction or another, not a good competitive set

I thought the ganon salty suite at Apex 2015 Bizzaro Flame vs Eikelmann was gonna be up there. Bizz doing the ganon up tilt IRL and then in the set was legendary. EASYYYYYYYYYY MONEYYYYYYYYYYY

Shocked it took toph this much to get some of these sets, about half of these I feel like should’ve just been in your check list. but I guess at the same time I started in 2016/2017 and the sets I was shocked took him so long are the ones that got me into the game, and they were still relatively recent enough to be relevant in the RUclips algo
and to be fair, he was so deeply involved in the community for many years already at many of these points, that like... for us, these were the youtube videos that got him into the game, but for him, maybe he never watched some of them on youtube after he commentated some of them live on stream haha. like i think it makes sense that he wouldnt rewatch some of these as many times as we did when we were doc kids
