What do you think of steering on these . I have a 2014 CDI 220. I've got vibration on steering and when going round corners. Had tracking etc and same issue .
Check the tyres, if its when you go round corners they are probably mishapen, and also the alloys for being buckled, tracking just makes sure the car is lined up correctly, vibration is usually cured by wheel balancing, or occasionally warped discs too
@@BarrieCrampton had tracking and wheel balancing done. I've just brought the car from garage and stil under warranty. It's more annoying tbh. If my hand is off steering wheel it shakes. It's booked to go back in garage.
Check the inside rim of the alloys, we ar always having to have them straightened these days with all the potholes, they may as well make them out of plasticine they are that soft
@@BarrieCrampton I'm not losing any tyre pressure which is a sign of buckled allloys. So that's one thing. I hope this is a easy fix. Never had issue before. As I brought the car it could of had a bad pot hole. How do you find the handling on these in general.
Can someone tell me if you can fold the Seats on this model? My old man cannot seem to find any release catch and I cannot find anything on the internet
I was driving a citroen c3 aircross for several years and that probably had the worst start\stop implementation ever. You had to go through a menu to turn it off and since it took a while for the computer to boot up more often than not I forgot to turn it off. It seemed to kick in at random and was nothing but an annoyance as if you were listening to music it could knock the engine off and catch you out at traffic lights.
By using your right foot :) Change gear down, hold it longer and you are in a sport mode :D As far as I know the "sport mode" in W204 change only the transmission settings, not the steering weight or the suspension so use your right foot :)
glad you cleared that up, no problems with the Mercedes on the chassis but they did buy a lot of metal that was already going rusty before they made it into cars, and they have had some terrible problems with the body work on some of their models
Hi thanks for the video. I just bought a same car but im not sure about the sound of the engine. Is it a bit different . Is it because is Amg sport 7g tronic? Many thanks
Hi mate wanted to ask u something. I just bought the same car. Issue is when car is cold and i put gear parking to drive it gives little jerk. While driving all other gears r fine. Do u think it is a problem or it’s normal?
Hi it only does it when its cold? I am assuming its on “choke” ie the revs are a little higher than when the car is warm, under these conditions i would expect it to feel a little harsher going into first, but so long as its only when cold,
Barrie Crampton thanks for ur kind reply. When checking online people were saying it needs transmission service but this car has full MB service history which shows that transmission was fully service on 76000 miles and now mileage is only 91000
if it only does it when its cold, I would tend to think a bumpy gear change is down to engine revs, or transmission fluid viscosity, tickover engine revs decrease when the engine reaches operating temperature, plus the fluid flows better when its hot, I would do the simple checks like levels, if they there is a filter, if there is software update for the gearbox, and also have the car code read in case there are any fault codes stored in the memory
no mate, your wrong I am a good driver, you sit where you are most comfortable, there are numerous reasons why you should sit as far away as possible but i wont go into them, so you sit where you like and i will sit where i have been sitting since i passed my test 43 years ago,
Watching this video and just realised you drove past my house on it! Small world aye
I would have waved if i had known
Again..first comment,first like,first watch :))
I agree with you buses are so stupid one follows me every day thanks for the test drives you do every garage should do them on youtube
Lovely car

Losing tyre pressure is possible a sign of a cracked alloy, but the wheel and tyre will deform quite badly before pressure is lost( in some cases)

you can on some, the handles are underneath the parcel shelf in the boot
@@BarrieCrampton yeah mine have those. My dad's doesn't. Surely Merc didn't make a car that can't fold seats

Nothing on sport mode ? How do you go on sport in the manual version

Danny Grecu yes if is
Have you had any problems with sub frame corrosion?
I mean on the C class. Lol.

I've just agreed to buy one from Mercedes, that is having a new subframe fitted. Would that put you off the car?
Which version of these cars are good, petrol or diesel? I think diesel engines are noisier then petrol
I prefer the diesels to be honest, very economical
@@BarrieCrampton thank you, by the way I really enjoy watching your videos especially your car reviews and test drives ❤️

So I don’t think so that it needs transmission service cus it was already not long ago. U recon may be transmission fluid level bit low?

Barrie Crampton thank u so much. I will take it to MB. Hopefully it will be a minor thing.
I'm surprised how quiet it is...

Why are sitting so far back your arms are stretching to reach anything....move the seat forward man . Your're not a Formula 1 driver !
