I usually don't watch videos about people struggling to lose weight. However, your videos are very different, you are an endurance athlete losing weight along the way. Many fit people have never run 100k or finished a marathon. Your story is unique, your editing is brilliant and I disagree with your daughters, the narration throughout the videos is compelling and likable. I only hope you don't get hurt or burned out in the process. I guess you are a fitness RUclipsr already and in no time you would be over 100k subscribers. I love your content and watched all of your videos. Keep it up.

Well done. I'm so glad I didn't see this video before my go at the Horseman today. I'm exactly the same weight as you (having lost 4.5st). I did it. 4:53:35, including a moment of reflection on the Alpe. Plus also to wring my socks out!

Amazing work Ryan, The Four Horsemen are a hard route. But you did it and that`s what its all about. You endured the pain, you learned the hard way that these hard courses takes time and a massive effort. I remember my first attempt at Four Horsemen and it was brutal, I was as broken as you where. But here I am 3 years later and I`ve now biked over 20000km this year alone so far. So just stay strong, do the work, never ever give up. If you fail sometimes just get back on the horse and try again until you reach that destination or goal you have set for yourself :) Remember nothing is impossible, the impossible just takes a bit longer time to do :) All the best from Norway.
@@RyanCondon I should mention that 100kg for me who is on the shorter side was to much weight for me so I decided to do some things different. Keep crushing your goals mate, love the content!

What a fantastic effort, you should be very proud, especially the mental effort to complete over 6 hours on the bike. One thing I do is set a maximum limit i allow my HR to get to e.g. 160 and when I get close to this I back off a touch. Really helps in preventing those mad surges we all have 😊

@@RyanCondon isn’t cycling and racing on Zwift just the best? It doesn’t matter what level of racing I’m watching it’s still super fun. No matter the level you know the riders are going balls to the wall. That win will come. You are at a disadvantage though weighing 100kg. Most riders in all cats are 90kg or lighter. You are dragging an extra 10kg around. That’s like having a cheap road bike strapped to your back. That weight will come off and your legs will be all the stronger for it. I do wonder how easy that watt bike of yours is to race on. My wahoo Kickr is being powered by a beautiful road bike, Dura Ace drive train and ceramic crank bearings. Just keep going. That win is only seconds away.
How about your armband to track HR in zwift? I am using a chest strap and feel uncomfortable and want to switch to an armband or smart watch but donot know it is good enough?
Hey buddy, What was the outcome of the new shoes? I also have the same ones and they make my toes go numb even after breaking them in. Are they all fine now or still make your feet go numb ?
I did my first 100km zwift ride at around 95kg in one of the cycle nation weekend endurance group rides. they run D category between 1.8 and 2 watts per kilo, and its normally on a pretty flat route so its a great way to spin the legs in a big group. I havent done 4 hourseman yet, but I did one of the other long ones that ends on the alpe.
Brilliant video, and that was some real tenacity. Having to quit this monster route two times would sap a lot of people's will to go back at it. Huge respect just for even getting back into it a third time, let alone completing it. I actually fan-viewed you on the third time and wondered what madness you were in the middle of. You were halfway up the Alpe and I could see you'd already done 40 something km. Big respect, mate. How are you finding the pedals and shoes? Hopefully they've broken in a bit and you find them a bit more comfortable now. When I first got clipless pedals, I couldn't believe how much easier climbing up hills was.
Thanks Lee. I was also wondering what I was doing halfway up the Alpe the third time as well. I like the clip in shoes but theyre a mixed bag, I struggle to get off the bike especially when exhausted but they do make a difference. No idea how people ride with these on the road and have to stop suddenly.
@@RyanCondon 😄 If you're using Shimano SPD cleats, the pedals often have a small hex key adjustment screw you can use to make it easier or tougher to unclip. It's a rite of passage to fall over at a busy set of traffic lights with them out on the road, though!
We are similar weights but I am older. Let’s ride sometime! I am slowly ticking off the various routes in Watopia. I just did The Grade up and down in 30 min. Then i took a fourth in a TT at average of 230 watts on Tik Tok directly after. Alp du Zwift took me 1:40 for the whole route and 94 min for the Alp portion. I am slowly becoming a better climber but there is no getting away from the weight factor on climbs. I’m going to have to start taking PED’s if i am to complete the 4 horsemen. Ha ha
I experience connection failure regularly and its bloody frustrating, half way through a ride connection lost result can't save ride, I completed the same level twice der? I'm not researching wifi booster any suggestions? 👍👍👍👍
One can clearly see that you are loosing massive on weight - especially on your face. Great vid by the way! Keep strong! The best solution to asspain form sitting for too long is getting up from time to time.
@@RyanCondon if you have deep pockets take a look at the Selle SMP’s and maybe check some Road Cycling Academy videos for bike set up tips or better yet get a fit through the fitter on Francis Cade’s channel. Best.

@@josephwyatt738 nothing beats the feel of sitting on a real bike. The wahoo kickr will provide a more reliable connection and is more accurate. It will allow for steeper gradients and the processing of higher watts. The flywheel will make it feel more like you're on the road on a real bike. Add a good rocker plate under the setup and welcome to the next level of indoor cycling.

@@PauloBurgio Cheers, Ive already lost 90kg so Im confident of another 10. The Wattbike does the job. ;) Thanks for the kind comment.
@@RyanCondon Jesus! Another 10kg will be baby shit
How about your armband to track HR in zwift?
I am using a chest strap and feel uncomfortable and want to switch to an armband or smart watch but donot know it is good enough?
I just use a basic armband one I bought online. Seems to do the job.
Runner mentality obsessed with PR's and can't stop racing yourself😂
That's me.
Only one lap? 😂 congratulations on your weight loss journey, buddy.
Just the one! 🙃
Hey buddy, What was the outcome of the new shoes? I also have the same ones and they make my toes go numb even after breaking them in. Are they all fine now or still make your feet go numb ?
They only make my feet numb when they're cold otherwise they're alright. They're not the most comfortable things in the world though.
100km indoors is a long way! Congrats man 🫡
You're not wrong!
@@SuperOrcy yeah I’ll have to get on one myself soon 👍
Ghost switch off is in settings
Makes sense.
@@RyanCondon 😄
If you're using Shimano SPD cleats, the pedals often have a small hex key adjustment screw you can use to make it easier or tougher to unclip. It's a rite of passage to fall over at a busy set of traffic lights with them out on the road, though!
@@lee-cycling Should be fun on the L2B. 😅
Ha ha
Good for you. Sounds like youre killing it in Watopia. 🙏💪👍
@@RyanCondon More like killing myself.
OMG, I die with .2km of 5%... On the road or on Zwift. I have a long way to go. So inspirational
It will be wifi connection issues - just go into the pairing screen and repair
It gave me the hump lol. Switched it off.
I experience connection failure regularly and its bloody frustrating, half way through a ride connection lost result can't save ride, I completed the same level twice der? I'm not researching wifi booster any suggestions? 👍👍👍👍
Ive never had before or since, it is annoying but Im hoping it was a one off.
You might be a bit disappointed by your time, but this is Impressive results still !
What an evolution 🙏
Im not too disappointed. At least Im not eating crisps on the sofa. Thanks for the comment. 🙌
One can clearly see that you are loosing massive on weight - especially on your face. Great vid by the way! Keep strong! The best solution to asspain form sitting for too long is getting up from time to time.
In the end it was all I could do to finish, rode out the saddle. Pleased you enjoyed the vid. Thanks for the comment.
When can we see you try The Uber Pretzel? 👀
Not sure it's on my radar atm but never say never. 👍
Congrats Ryan! My butt hurt just watching you.
Those saddles are killers. Thanks for watching.
@@RyanCondon if you have deep pockets take a look at the Selle SMP’s and maybe check some Road Cycling Academy videos for bike set up tips or better yet get a fit through the fitter on Francis Cade’s channel. Best.
Bro has lost loads of weight and can lose more with a shave amirite
I would also love to see your splits from your 25 mile runs. If it’s anything like the power output on the bike or the amount of times you completely stop while on the bike it must take you days
I never stop. What does take days is reading your multiple comments.
Bro, you knew you wasn’t gonna complete this in four hours lol we all knew you wasn’t gonna complete in four hours lol😂😂. Way to stick with it though.💯👁💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
That feels like a challenge. Best not to watch this week's Vid.
Alright Ryan well done maybe you are overtraining a wee bit.
Probably.
Get rid of that garbage wat bike. Get yourself a bicycle and a wahoo kickr.
Out of interest why is it worse in your opinion than the watt bike? Is it less accurate ?
@@josephwyatt738 nothing beats the feel of sitting on a real bike. The wahoo kickr will provide a more reliable connection and is more accurate. It will allow for steeper gradients and the processing of higher watts. The flywheel will make it feel more like you're on the road on a real bike. Add a good rocker plate under the setup and welcome to the next level of indoor cycling.
It does the job pretty well for me.
Amino acids have nothing to do with endurance. Gels and energy chews are more than enough to get any relatively fit person through a long ride. Your power outage to heart rate is laughable - unsubscribed
Goodbye!
Again a great video!
I appreciate the comment. Cheers!
Geezer! 🫡 Been avoiding this route, but you've inspired me 🙏
It's brutal! Have fun. 😅
