Simply, if you have sign next to the road: speed limit 30 mph , and then 45mph and so on , you want to match it on your speedometer and not recalculate the speedometer all the time in your memory. It is easier to match the environment you're in. I drive Jeep with mph on the speedometer in EU. It's disturbing.
