After 20 years, I still tear, every time watching this dance. Even only listening the music I can't subside the emotion. Their prime time, my prime time... 💗
This performance is incredible and the music is mesmerizing. It brings tears! I can't stop watching Slavik....what a perfect dancer & artist! He compliments his partner and he tells a beautiful story and is so humble! Karina is also magnificent! BRAVO!!!👏👏👏👏👏💓

I still remember watching it the first and tearing up; the music, the quality of movement and the chemistry, undeniable!!! One of my favourite Rumbas.
This performance got more stunning year after year with their maturity. Just a gorgeous, timeless piece of dancing. And probably one of the most equally stunning dancers in the history of latin dance!

Actually this beautiful Rumba version was re-worked in 2019 in Moscow ...originally this was initially given at WSSDF in Tokyo as early as 2003 w/ Karina...ln 2014 Slavik/Karina danced the same in the Legend Dance event after his early retirement in 2010 when Slavik was just 30 yrs old...

No offence, just wonder why they haven’t created a new routine for a long time...
Chiung-hua Tseng they have created 4 new routines (2 samba, Cha Cha, and paso doble)! Marius also recorded their new paso doble and cha cha routine
Chiung-hua Tseng. This rumba is regarded by many as arguably the greatest show rumba of all time. The fact that audiences around the world are still willing to pay to see them perform it after so many years is testament to that. As an artist when you have created such a masterpiece its very risky to try and better it because that's what people will expect and often there's more to loose than to gain by even attempting it. Perhaps one day they might give it a shot but its unlikely they, or anyone else will come up with anything better any time soon. So lets appreciate and just enjoy this timeless piece of dance mastery.

Same with Beethoven. And indeed with the GREATEST rumba of all times,
by Karina and Slavik. Same with the music. It must never change..
Beautiful dance ..just couldn’t get past her faces 🤔 it didn’t fit in to the feeling of the dance ..for performances like this you have to almost be an actor as well as a dancer ..the emotional moments in the dance were washed down because of her open mouth and fake smiles ... the actual dance though wasgorgeous
Daniela Campbell. I've watched them dance this over the years a hundred times. I don't see the fake smiles. Infact what I see is vulnerability, anguish, love, longing, despair, passion and heartache. How is this not acting? The music is so powerful and emotive with soaring crescendos. To faithfully express the passion within this music some degree of facial expressiveness I think is essential or the music would completely overpower you. So I personally feel what Karina expresses is reflective of the music and not at all overdone. Perhaps on a few occasions a little too much dental work on display, but compared to many I feel they are both expressively very faithful to the music and very much the reason why this performance is as you stated gorgeous.
Karina has the rumba look. The beautiful rumba look. Her face is gorgeous. She is so genuine.

a.dancer to much with someone who is passionately in dancing...
In fact, this rumba was much better in 2003 and 2004, when they were young and the storytelling was relevant to their lives. Right now, it simply thrives on the memory of Slavik and Karina, but not on its merit

What are people raving about here? Is this a "new vogue", watered-down "dance" formerly known as "rumba"? The performance is more modern ballet than rumba, and the music is horrible sentimental-movie soundtrack, not even with a hint of the authentic rhythm or mood.

Есть люди - гении... Они отходят от стандартов , как следствие - их гениальность. Согласитесь, ведь смотреть на этот танец без сопереживания просто невозможно!
Это тот пример, когда человек не разбирается в классической хореографией. Не говоря уже о бальных танцев.
