I like your videos but I think you should show the finished product in the first 30 seconds of the video to keep people watching. 26 mins is a long time to wait to see the final product. Keep up the good work man.
Awesome video, great explanation and Canberra work, very easy to follow. I have been researching different light kits for F10 for the past two months, I am just afraid of longevity issues. May I ask, how have these held up over the years? Any issues?
they've been holding up fine for the longest time. just recently (maybe 2 months ago) one of the strips that go in the door pocket showed issues and would deviate. maybe I bend it a little too much when installing. my biggest gripe though are the cups for the door handles. they will most definitely break when they have to come out again and for some reason they made it the key gateway for the door lights..
No. The other 3 doors are plug and play. I only customised the power supply of the driver's door since it's easier and faster this way. The set is designed to pull power for the driver's door from the trunk release button in the footwell arear which seemed more work and effort to me. Hence the custom part.
@@BONDGarage OK thanks.. I think I connected the driver side led to passenger hence I had the long led connector on it.. I will switch it around and that should make it work I guesd
hello its great I installed on mine as well very big differences.. great video btw. have question is there any way that we can code footwell lights to be on while driving because they go off when closing door >? thanks
those are functional lights. also they're yellow/white so you won't get around adding some if you want color. as for coding it on, might be tricky but doable.
plugged them into the original connector. it's plug and play for 3 doors and for the drivers door i had to custom a little. it's explained in the video
can't find the link but it's basically just a set of 4 LED strips, with remote. I hardwired it to the low beam. But by now there are complete sets for the doors AND the footwell which makes it a lot easier. check aliexpress. There'll be quite some.
the car already had ambience light, but only the functional orange one. so I couldn't change color or anything. this is just a LED set to replace the original light modules. no coding but also only 2 colors and you have to switch each panel individually. so i can have the driver side blue and the passenger side orange. i keep it all blue tho
can`t i just purchase one of the cheap Ambient lights with Bluetooth/WiFi controller for smartphone controlling and plug it into the + & - wires from the stock ambient lightning? this must work too, right? I want to try this in the next few days. I got 5pcs. of the 10€ footwell ambientlight from Amazon. Each one has a WiFi Controller and 4 LED stripes. I will remove the plastic cover from the LED stripes to make it fit into the door panel and combine two stripes into one long strip. So i will have a long stripe for the top of the door panel and a long stripe for the bottom storage. For the cockpit I will cut off the unused LEDs. But before that, I'll test all 4 LED stripes for the complete front panel. With the APP Lotus Lantern i can add all of the 5 LED Controllers and use my phone or my Android Screen to switch the colors of the lights. Hope it will work :D Sorry for my bad english :D
How did it go? There are also complete kits (ambient and footwell lighting) that come with a sound controller. But since I already installed one of those for my footwell lights I didn't want to add another one. However, that is a separate system that doesn't integrate with the OEM ambience light and the iDrive system.
@@BONDGarage I have an Android Screen with iDrive. With the Android UI which I am using most of the time for Spotify and GMaps, I can use the App for changing the lights. It works great and feels like OEM. I upgraded the footwell lights, all four doors and the front panel. They are all working with only one App. They all sync and I need to tap only one of the Color Button to change all LED Colors.

Hi loving the video.. My question is.. Do you have to power all the door same as the driver door?

@@parbesali1986 the instructions that come with it are pretty useless unless you have some experience. Hope the video helps setting it up.

Yo i tried to install mine started on the Driver door but it didnt work. Do i first need to Plug the Rear Doors to make it Work?
Hi , please tell me where do you plug them in to get the lights working ??

Very Nice! Which unit did you get is it the CIC or NBT? Does it need coding? Thanks!

@@BONDGarage can you also use the replacement strips which can do multiple colors ? my car also only has orange ambient light (2011)

@@MoTz_50 that's a really sweet setup! 👍🏻
Don’t know they make these videos and not try to tell you where they get the lights 😡
