Thanks for walking with me! The Philippines is a beautiful places, and just like the rest of the world, this island has some dark places as well. Although this is considered the biggest slum in the Philippines, it seems like the people are content and happy, thus why this place is called Happy Land =) Watch the Night Walk here: ruclips.net/video/gHN7S5oTWEs/видео.html Don't forget to hit the notification bell for more videos like this =)

I have been to the Philippines 4 times now. I realize that the living conditions are not good at all, but the people there I have fallen in love with. They are the most kind people you will ever meet. Your video I think shows just that. Never did you see anyone give you an angry look or ask you what you were doing there. The people are what makes me go back. Generally loving and kind. Great work on the video and like you put it, don’t judge the conditions they live in. Look into the eyes of the people. That is where you find God! God bless the PH
same as well! there's this very sweet man i met online. we were planning to meet up! he lives between caloocan and quezon city 💕 i can't wait to finally meet up the love of my life.
Tondo is where my Dad grew up. I had the opportunity to visit in 2019 and my parents weren’t too happy when they found out I ventured on my own to find his old stomping grounds. It was a real eye opener to see where his journey began. I am extremely thankful for the sacrifices they’ve done to give me and my siblings a better life. He always told me stories of the harsh realities in Tondo. I admire him for the determination. Even my grandparents were able to relocate here, because of everything he did. Sending love and prayers from the Napa Valley, California.
I kinda understand your Dad, I live in Tondo and it isn't exactly a tourist destination. 😆😆😆😆. But I'm glad it gave you a better perspective and you appreviated more what you currently have. ❤️❤️❤️
@@booshallmighty well. I didn’t have any issues when I visited. I even enjoyed my time in Mexico and Cuba. Remember, it is Americans that live in the fear of ignorance of the world as what their government does to keep them blind. But also... I get why my parents came here to give me and my siblings a better chance in opportunities. I’m also glad they did because another reason the Philippines is doing so well economically is by OFWS or Filipinos overseas pumping money into their economy... and I’m one of those people as well. Though I may not have grown up back there. My parents still taught me about our culture and history. I’ll donate and make sure the family line and community back home is taken care of... because they still treat us as family.
@@booshallmighty but then... they grew up in that environment. Why would they be scared as that is their home? But we have to be honest that the health, livelihood and opportunities are not available for everyone that are in Tondo. Also, the Tondo of today is obviously not as the Tondo of the 90s. There’s a reason why Filipinos choose to work abroad or find opportunity elsewhere.
I plan on visiting the Philippines. The people are the reason why I want to travel here. Kindness is universal and we need to spread it throughout the world.
i have visited the Philippines several times. the Filipinos I met or encountered were all kind and gentle. i wish the Philippines and her people would be prosperous and wealthy. love from China
Would like to give my best hope to those who are truly in need and suffering from poverty right now. Manila, for me, is well know for its vibrant cityscape like Makati and BGC, but few people would ever experience the routes like this. Despite of frustrations in reality, they look even more energetic than those staying with wealth. Stay safe and strong, we are in this together, best love and support to you from Taiwan.
The biggest problem in the Third World capitalist countries is the concentration of income, whether in Asia or Latin America. Few have too many, most have almost nothing. Result: misery, poverty.

I like how you’re respectfully showing the living conditions. I’m Filipino, born and raised here in California and I’ve never been to the Philippines so I searched up videos like these so I can get a glimpse of the hardships people face in the motherland - my parents were right. It’s a reminder that I need to be grateful and even though I complain about the most nontrivial things, these people appear to have it a hundred times worse but they’re still able to smile and go on with their day - it’s admirable. 🙂
Theres not that much hardship tbh. Its just that these people chose to be lazy and staying uneducated. It was their will to live like this. But what can i say, if all those years the Gov. had not been corrupted, then there could have been more oppotunities for them. But then again, these people are the cause of our Overpopulation and poverty margin.
Come back to visit when you can. I was like you and my first time back was when I was 29. I honestly felt like crying when I touched down because it's such a surreal experience going back to the land of your ancestors and seeing where your parents grew up. We are so lucky to have been born in the US and all the privileges that come with it.
Thank you for showing how some people live in other parts of the world. As bad as these conditions may appear to those of us who are lucky enough to live in the "First world", These people appear well adapted to the conditions that they live in. I did not see obvious depression and defeat in the eyes of the people there, the children seemed happier and freer than the children that I see in my part of the world. These are human beings who are making the best of what they have and live "normal" lives like the rest of us. There is so much to see as you walk along and I actually enjoyed the sights through the lense of your camera, it feels more exotic than many tourist destinations that are considered "exotic". The place looks like a real life version of a combination of mad max and blade runners movie back grounds.
I'm sure those living in acute poverty there appreciate your romanticizing their adaptation. Still, much respect to any society where children run free.
Please , let's not pretty thing up like the children are so happy and free. The children have the choice because they were born into poverty. I wonder the kids have access to hospitals and schools.
I have been throughout many of the slums in Manila and elsewhere in PI. One thing I notice the most is the kids seemed to be always happy. Walking the slums anywhere in the world should give you a sense of how nice most of us have it unless you are not human.

I've been there (in Tondo) as well and I visited the Philippines already four times since 2013. I asked 5 different taxi drivers to bring me to Tondo 2013 and all of them refused getting me there saying it would be way too dangerous. One of them said he would drive taxi 25 years and he has got robbed 3 times since then and it has been always happening in Tondo. So I decided to take a walk from Mabini street (Metro Manila) by myself to get there. At the start of reaching Tondo I didn't see one Taxi anymore (no joke). At other places in Manila you see more taxis driving than private cars. The poverty overwhelmed me and it didn't took long to get accompanied by 5 up to 8 kids sometimes. They all kept calling me GI-Joe even I'm a German. I've been hanging around there about 5 hours the last two hours it has been dark already and still no one tried to harm me or rob me at all. Two kids by the age of around 6 and 10 were staying by my side from the very beginning until I left again. All the people I met there were very friendly and a bunch of them tried to sell me sunglasses, viagra, lighters and some other goods. At all places in the Philippines I only met the friendliest people ever and I'm used to travel a lot around the world. I think it always depends on how you treat people to get treated good as well. Your video made me think about the kids I met there and I hope that they're doing fine until today and getting once the chance to escape the poverty over there. God bless them and all the people from the Philippines 🥰
Incorrect. They know they are poor. The sad thing is they've accepted it. They need help. Saying they're happy about their situation is irresponsible and selfish.
I support a street kids charity in Cavite city and go there every year to talk to the kids about their rights and how to be successful in life. I can’t go this year due to Covid which saddens me but Filipinos are amazing people with the best work ethic. I love my trips there . I’m glad I was also able to help after Yolanda ... seeing the Filipino people come together and help each other was just incredible. I think we packed over 1000 bags of rice
From this video, I can imagine very accurately that the atmosphere of the capital city of the Philippines is not much different from where I live now, Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. Slum villages, narrow and dirty alleys. Grocery stores and people going back and forth. Tracing the heart of Manila is like exploring Jakarta.
Coba mas pikir apa gunanya komen kayak begitu? Image Jakarta di internasional jadi lebih buruk terus andanya gak bilang ke Pemprov Jakarta jadi gak ada gunanya. Kalau mas pengen merubah Jakarta bilang langsung ke pemrovnya sana bukan disini.
These guys seem to live in peace, despite the very poor conditions. It also seems like they look out for each other. I can tell by the young girls walking alone with confidence. God bless them 🙏🏼
There is street justice there. Do crime (rape or rob) and the people will lynch you. Sell drugs and the cops will get you. They won't even jail you. They execute you right away
@@pongpong123able4 Thats how it is in a lot of third world countries. The police/justice system is incompetent and/or corrupt so the people take matters in their own hands. I've seen this a lot in Latin America, where people will beat and sometimes kill rapists, scammers, pedophiles, etc.
Beautiful! I was always curious on how the heart of Tondo looks like. You are a brave person. You actually went to a place where angels 👼 fear to tread. I feel like I am the one walking your path by watching your video. The place is indeed dilapidated and in need of major repairs but in contrast the residents look healthy. They wear decent clothes and footwear. They just mind their own business and don’t seem to be a threat to strangers. One day, I’ll pay them a visit too. Thank you from Virginia, USA!
I live in the Philippines but I have never been in this place. I can feel the warmth and happiness of them despite of the poor living condition. God bless PH!
I stumbled across this video on one Friday night in November of 2021. It was humbling to watch. A few days later I showed my 8 year old son and my 6 year old daughter the video. After watching the video I asked my kids for their impression. My 8 y.o. son said "they may not have much, but they are happy". My daughter said "I wish it was like the Philippines here" I asked her why? She said "because, there would be more kids to play with!" This video has blessed my kids and I...in more ways than one. After watching the video I became curious about the Philippines and began learning about the culture. Long story short, I met my fiancee and her family in the Philippines the summer of 2022. She absolutely loves my kids and I! We can't wait for her arrival in USA. May God bless the Philippines. 🙏 P.S. Thank you Krypto for making this video.
This brings back memories, I've been to the Philippines multiple times. Never been to Tondo but have went to the slums/villages in Naga City. People are so nice and seem happy even though they live in grass huts with dirt floors. This is the sad reality of our world and it really makes you appricate where you're at in life.
I loved the 20-minute promenade through the slum. I love it particularly because you refrained on purpose from editing the video or putting any voice-over. You just walked on and on and let the camera roll non-stop. That has made your video report realistic. I mean, you've just shown us the real Manila. Thanks very much for sharing this precious walk of yours with us. By the way, although the district itself is shabby and full of garbage, the inhabitants were favored with that azure sky and snow-white clouds.
@The OED Loves Me Not what do you mean Real Manila? The areas where rich Filipinos are not real parts of Manila? what nonsense, the slum & rich areas of Manila are both real Manila. The upper classes of Manila is as real as the lower classes, not all Filipinos are in the lower classes
Thanks for watching with an open mind! Coming from a western country, this place was a huge interest to me, which most locals find that weird and even rude in a way, but that's the cultural difference unfortuntately. Not only do these places interests me, it gives me an opportunity to understand them better, and hopefully give others like you and I a way to help if they want to. Of course this is happening all over the world, as well as the USA. Thanks again for the visit =)
One aspect you can't experience on RUclips is the rancidity of the place. I don't know you or your tolerance, but to some it's jarring when you are in the middle of it. You learn to be ultra-sensitive real quick. I just thought you should know.
Filipinos will always make the best of their situation. They will stay up beat and strive for a better life. No time to feel sorry for themselves. I admire that about the Filipino spirit.
Not only in Philiphines. Every where slum exits. Like Dharavi in India. Plus point is that most of them are hard workers and remain happy in day to day life

There's something about Filipino slums where people can be happy even in the face of extreme poverty. Manila has its fair share of crime (more so than other East and Southeast Asian countries) and I've heard of conflicting reports by fellow Filipinos but the people of Tondo tend to have a simple life- the parents try to work wherever they can and the children play on the streets.
I grew up in Tondo. Nice to see updated version of Tondo. That was my old neighborhood. At least the roads are cemented now. Used to go to the pier to watch dynamite fishing and did swimming there since there was fee for private swimming pools nearby. I guess they do not do dynamite fishing now. Did not get to own nor to ride a bicycle except renting for few hours on 3 occasions. Did walking mostly back and forth from the Westminster High School to home in Sande street and now forgot the name of my grade schools.. Always remember the inside of Tondo Church before it got renovated and the floors were covered with old tombstones with the name of the people graves where they came from. Able to see the Mary Johnston Hospital from the steps of the Tondo Church. Did enjoy the jeepney ride when I can afford it. The name of Sande street has been changed. Out of the three bakeries on the Sande street up to Pritil only Liberty Bakery survived. Panaderia Rica and Tondo bakery are not there anymore. Funeral Sumilang has moved. INC church at the corner of Moriones and Juan Luna. Visit Tondo market once in a while and where my father used to buy baby shark at the market for one of our ulam. I did use to walk the whole length of Juan Luna to get to Divisoria to catch jeepney ride to Quiapo to attend school at FEU where I was fortunate to be get accepted to study and graduated. Admission to college was not as rigid as of today otherwise I might not have gotten accepted. I did not have good grade in high school. That's why I consider myself lucky. I vaguely remember seeing Asiong Salonga and Pepeng Hapon when I was a child playing in Tondo. They have removed the old police station at the Moriones Island at the intersection of Sande and Moriones.
My girlfiend is from Taytay and I have been to Manila and explored it multiple times. The people are beautiful and work with what they have. Is nice most writing is in english and most people can speek some too. The poverty is sad but the people make the most of what they have. If young Americans spent a month exploring and living in the streets of Manila they would have a very different view of the US.
I was born in Manila. In Tondo as a matter of fact. The Tondo I remembered was the part of the slums when you got closer to the shipping containers. This is a wakeup call! Thank you for posting!
This remind me of my old slum I came from Saigon. Most part of this slum well kept, and peaceful. I was a refugee the 80’s stayed in Philippines, remember the people were nice, we were treated well, not like the rest of SE Asia who treated as “unwanted”, many raped and killed by Thai pirates.
I've talked to many Filipinos over the years, and they always had one thing in common---they like the simple life. Unlike here in the US, Filipinos don't need much to be happy...I think we can learn from that
@Miss Chalk I'm not specifically talking about the people in this video (clearly they would like better living conditions), but Filipinos in general. I've known a few that have come here to the US where they have a high standard of living, and they still prefer the simple life.
Why did they move to the USA if they were OK in the Philippines yeah nah millions try to get out of the Philippines every year because of there situation
This is the first time I am seeing a slum.I am dumbfounded seeing a lot of children playing on the roadside I mean pathways and others everyone mindful of their works. In some places pathways are very very narrow and I don't know how they are identifying their houses even.Atlast I realized that it's not comforts but content and complacency are the secret of a happy life.Thank God for teaching me a lesson through your vlog.Thank you.
My grandmother - passed away now - described how her grandmother told stories that Tondo was where families with ties to Spain all resided before they all left. She said it was a nice community with beautiful homes. The center of the town was the church. How everyone loved it when they get cool breezes from the bay.
It is nice to see children happily rooming free!! They seem to know every corner of the neighbourhood!! It is not as dangerous as outsiders may think. It looks like a very healthy, close net community. Children behaviours said a lot about this place. You will be surprised to find happiness in unexpected places. What is more, this is dignified poverty with small business in every corner, typical of third world countries. Compare this to a depressing and degrading homeless camp across Europe and America; you will know what I mean by dignified poverty!!
wow i cant believe how ignorant you are , theres stealing at every possible chance , no formal education , no safety, garbage every where you go , over population , they arent happy . their aware of their circumstances and have accepted it , its sad really . and thinking other wise is rude , and ignorant .

I have lived in the Philippines for 9 years now and I have lived all over and Manila is just one place and Tondo I know well I dated a girl who was from there. It doesn't matter what you have or where your from its how you are as a person that matters its how you treat others and how you interact in your community your walk showed me what I know about the Philippine people they are good at working with what they have at hand and adapting to what is available to them they are excellent as a family unit and this is their strength and what allows them to survive when others would perish. If there was a worldwide disaster the Philippines would come out on top.
...I honestly agree with you Mr.Craig Smith...Filipinos are basically family oriented people and have extended families as well and they will adopt you as their own if it pleases them...
I like how children seem well adjusted & happy playing w/each other. Life is simple here & they appear grateful NOT depressed like America's poor people.
Yep, that's the Philippines and I absolutely love it here. I spent time in Manila not far from tondo. I've walked to many places alone and even in the middle of the night. I've never had a problem and I made the best friends I ever had. Now I'm living in Southern Mindanao and half of my neighbors are Muslim and just the same. Everyone is so nice and happy always smiling. The kids in my neighborhood are happy playing outside with bicycle tire and a stick. I'm even happy to have my own son grow up in this environment. He will enjoy his youth here.
Eh, trust me, don't underestimate the environment you're seeing, especially in highly dense areas like outdoor shopping centers, hell even malls someone will rob even an entire backpack if you're not careful enough, especially if you're a foreigner.

Majority of these slum houses don’t have a door. They don’t feel threatened during the night I guess because they don’t have anything worth taking. Here in the U.S we all lock our doors. This is a beautiful video showing how happy they all are. Grown up and kids.
Thanks for the video! I was born in Manila back in 1962 (Mom took me and my brother to the US in 1969). and although I didn't live in the Tondo area, my family did still struggle and my early childhood was still difficult. Seeing those children in your video just playing and hanging out with their friends (despite their surroundings) brought back fond memories for me. Thanks again!
Awww...it made me miss my childhood home back in Pasay. What a lovely place to grow up surrounded by lots of other children to play with. I bet when these kids grow up they will look back and cherish their childhood memories.
The little girl at 14:07 really got to me... scrubbing the wheels of the toy car probably for her little brother or sister. So much pride! I sincerely hope that, in 20 or 30 years, someone will be valeting her Ferrari.
Although I get the idea of you being empathic to the girl, which is nice. But I think you are out of context. Ferrari? 20 or 30 years from now? Really? These people are living day to day! Do you understand that?! I think you are projecting and you need to open your little eyes. The situation is, the girl's family is living in a slum exposed to many different very bad things. Instead of a Ferrari and 20 or 30 years from now, how about getting them out of the slum first? Jeez!
no one wants to live like this.. most of the people who feed their families work 2-3 jobs or work the whole day just to earn a little bit of money... i used to be in the slums all day when i was a kid but now we moved to a place where there is like no people (compared to slums), anyways sometimes the government or someone will burn up places in slums and cause massive problems..
Glad you enjoyed it! The Philippines is a beautiful place, but there are some places that need to be worked on. Hopefully this video gets some exposure to raise awareness, so more can be done for this community! Thanks so much for watching =)

I work with a lady from the Philippines, such a nice person and she would tell me how big karaoke is there and how much she enjoys singing. Glad I caught a glimpse of the culture! Great video!!
It’s actually not as bad as some other countries at least it seems like there’s order and safe enough for children to play in the streets unlike bad places here in the US
Nah.. Trust me on this the slums in Manila are way worse than any ghetto you'll find the US. Way less safe and no it's safe for kids to play in the streets and crime is much more than the US especially petty crime. Keep in mind these kids are probably not in school. I had to meet someone for business in a few of these places and I've never felt that unsafe in any ghetto in the US. It's not that every person in these slums would rob your ass but there are plenty who will. Part of me almost thinks there president is needed and he's partly right.
I lived a poor kid in Manila and experienced living in a somewhat bad neighborhood. Trust me, the kids are all out playing in the streets not because it’s safe to be in the streets. A lot of kids in the slums of Philippines are abused or have experienced abuse; hence, why they run out in the streets most the time. Also, slums in the Philippines have large families in one shack, it is better to be out in the streets regardless if it’s safe or not.

It's not even fair to compare the two due to differences in social welfare and income levels. Manila is way worse than anything you've seen in America. Plenty of people having their kids beg or straight up selling them. It dawned on me one day when someone was praising duterte. Maybe he is good for the Philippines especially if the people like him.

You're welcome and I enjoyed the walk. I use to walk all over the metro area including Tondo. A few days I worked in a movie as a British POW during WW2 in the movie Return to the river Kwaii or spmething like that back in like 1988 or 89. There is or was an old railroad station where movie did the shooting using it as a set for a Vietnam rail road station they just changed the signs to be in vietnamese. And I returned to the area enjoying my walks and the people. Mabait sa tao yan. Even the people are poor they are smiling and laughing and enjoying life. My first trip to Manila was in 1971 and fell in love.
Thanks for sharing this, and thank you so much for watching, I would love to find this place you are talking about, if I do I will film how it looks now, have a good day my friend!
When I was baby, my mom told me they filmed the movie Apocalypse Now close to our home and the actors/crew used to visit my Grandfather who is half Irish and would drink with them after shooting. The crew also loved my Grandma's cooking - Free (LOL). Also, I have a Godfather who was the second director for Born on the Fourth of July with Tom Cruise. He is also the second director for the movie Bourne Legacy with Rachel Weisz. Tom Cruise loved the people but not the humidity. Rachel Weisz didn't stay very long. She flew back to London immediately.
The people staying there are so kind..They look after each other even though they are poor...They are so hardworking and survive to buy food and needs for their family....
I‘ve been watching this with my heart AND my eyes. Very poor people unter horrible living circumstances. Many people with sadness and hopelessness on their faces. But also: very much social and friendly interaction, much more than in western countries. People just sitting together, talking, playing. And I#ve seen people with pride, not willing to give up. Their pride can be seen in their smiles and the fact, that their clothes is poor but CLEAN. Love and greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
There was one lookup , Marknowhereman channel... It's called pongays house caught on fire or something like that. The firefighters truck ran out of water too trying to put out all the fire
one thing i learn is that, thru my journey traveling around the road. I discovered that the people that who live in the slums are actually living more happier of a life than those so called privileged people who has a house a job an a car back in the UsA an Uk. The reason is because they source of fun doesn’t resolve around money but rather having a social family and enjoying every moment of that
Let us not compare slum dwellers to previleged people but compare them to just normal people. For examples, the children @ the slumps whom you said are happy. But do they get to go to school & get decent education? What about their future? Do they get sufficient opportunity to do better than their parents and get a college education followed by a good job & eventually move out of the slump. If that is happening then it is still OK and not too bad. If that is not the case, then the slump is just a poverty trap which the government must address.

While growing up, in the 1950's our family advised us to avoid Tondo like the plague. It was a haven for street gangs like Sigue-segue, sputnik who attack each other without let up. Even the Manila police dept. had a hard time controlling them. Improvised weapons like slingshot arrows, all knives assortments are regularly confiscated and headlined by newspapers as having so many people killed in those gang wars. Things have dramatically changed over the decades. Thanks to the video, I have witnessed that part of Tondo of what it is today even with the pandemic. It seems to be a docile community where the residents have accustomed themselves to their environment.
Ahhh some of the scenes are so nostalgic. Even though I did not grow up in the slums, I lived the first half of my life in the Philippines. One of the things I like the most about the Philippines that I really miss upon immigrating to another country is COMMUNITY. You are surrounded by people and meet different people constantly. They actually know you and you live life with others. Sometimes the richest things in life are not material.

But then again, these people are the cause of our Overpopulation and poverty margin.
our gov't & the system is a huge pile of mess just like my country as well...
Come back to visit when you can. I was like you and my first time back was when I was 29. Arlo actually it is one of the most beautiful countries I have ever been to. And I traveled many places. The people of the Philippines are the best!

And both overpopulated
It's worsts than Jakarta. I mean there's also slums in Jakarta but they do not live with all the garbage like in the Manila
Coba mas pikir apa gunanya komen kayak begitu? Image Jakarta di internasional jadi lebih buruk terus andanya gak bilang ke Pemprov Jakarta jadi gak ada gunanya. Kalau mas pengen merubah Jakarta bilang langsung ke pemrovnya sana bukan disini.

Tondo is horrible. Especially at night. Not safe at all. Many drug addicts

I've talked to many Filipinos over the years, and they always had one thing in common---they like the simple life. Unlike here in the US, Filipinos don't need much to be happy...I think we can learn from that
Yeah sure, u go with that.
Stop. That isn't "the simple life" that is extreme poverty. Or flip it...why don't you chose to live that way. Because it's terrible.

I love seeing the areas of poor people cause it’s the reality of theirs lives. And still they are the happiest people I ever seen. I feel so much respect for these beautiful people. The world is not only about the rich only. I’ve learned so much from your videos than anyone else. I’ve learned about love, respect and compassion. So continue to be you and stay free to do what you want. We can’t please everyone whenever they complain. Stay free my friend! ❤️❤️❤️
i think slums are fascinating i love their archaic architecture and nature
Why western people love watching slum rather than develop areas hypocrite
I like the camera angle. Makes me feel I'm right there walking at eye level.
Thank you =)
Everyone was still clean, dressed well and happy, the loveliest people ive met and very hard working
This is the best slum walk video I've seen, while capturing great footage. Job done very well Krypto Trekker. Cheer's!!
Thank you =)
Amazing..no one trying to hassle you. Pick pockets or steal camera. A safer community than many places in U.K.
Safe except not covid safe
Eh, trust me, don't underestimate the environment you're seeing, especially in highly dense areas like outdoor shopping centers, hell even malls someone will rob even an entire backpack if you're not careful enough, especially if you're a foreigner.

The stones that they used to build Tondo Church were brought in by the Spaniards from Mexico. They also had mexicans in the ship.

Majority of these slum houses don’t have a door. They don’t feel threatened during the night I guess because they don’t have anything worth taking. Here in the U.S we all lock our doors. This is a beautiful video showing how happy they all are. Grown up and kids.
Filipino houses have 5 doors. And locks and gates. And jail bars in the front of the windows. Dont be deceived. Lots of crime and drug use going on.
Philippines is good country. Slums have many countries. I like Philippines
Yes JC. I noticed that as well. Touched me as well. Peace.
Jeez!
They are happy people no matter how hard life is thats the spirit of Filipinos
Too happy they dont even care about the country anymore all they want is being happy pleasure i know i was there before

@@DavidJohnson-dp4vv Dude, I've seen tent cities infesting in Los Angeles, growing in number by the day, it's pretty nasty, and needles from junkies littered in sidewalks... at least these people live in houses, not in the streets.
@@snowstorm0914 yeah but is it to the level of manila? With a shit load of people sleeping on the street? Trust me it's a lot. It's not safe like this guy is saying and it's way way more than you'd ever see in LA or any city in America.
It's bad I've seen shit in America but the Philippines is way way worse. It's not even fair to compare the two due to differences in social welfare and income levels.
Manila is way worse than anything you've seen in America. Plenty of people having their kids beg or straight up selling them. It dawned on me one day when someone was praising duterte. Maybe he is good for the Philippines especially if the people like him.
its the kids you need to watch out for, tondo have the highest child murdering child in the world. the youngest record is 8 years old bashing a 7 year old head with a rock.
When watching a video like this one, I always pray an hope that there is never a large fire. How large is the area that you videotaped ?
I just commented the same thing.
all i could think of too, a fire would devastate and destroy everything
the government is investing in buliding large codominium type housing for them so hopefully they would be transfered at the soonest time
There was one lookup , Marknowhereman channel... It's called pongays house caught on fire or something like that. The firefighters truck ran out of water too trying to put out all the fire
one
thing i learn is that, thru my journey traveling around the road.
I discovered that the people that who live in the slums are actually living more happier of a life than those so called privileged people who has a house a job an a car back in the UsA an Uk.
The reason is because they source of fun doesn’t resolve around money but rather having a social family and enjoying every moment of that
True wealth is not measured by having the most, but needing the least.
@@azeedahhasleezan1678 yes they also go to school only poor sleeping in the street are not...
People there is not a resident they are from any provinces to seek job in Manila they work hard for a living but still happy... But don't worry our govt will give them a condominium which we called tondominium😁
Hope ur country also don't have slum cuz in the eye of people they thought they're suffering but yes but in the Philippines no cuz they are happy living a simple life...

Very interesting! Thanks. The people seem to be friendly. Is it safe there?
Perhaps because Duterte has made it safer.
Looks pretty clean, organized and safe!
