As I don´t consider myself as an Jeti expert - I went for my DC 24 last spring and I still use my old Futaba with my older models - your videos are extremely helpful. I often just follow you with my TX on my knees to programme something. You explain slowly so we can easily follow. There are quite a few videos around but most of them are explained too fast to follow. That´s why I love your videos, nice and slow. Thank you so much ... !!
Outstanding!!! Thank you so much!!!! I am enjoying my DC24 so much more since I found Harry!!! You are exactly correct...I fly in a city environment in the USA. Flying with the 900 JUST IN CASE is VERY comforting!!! When your plane costs $20,000 you’re crazy not to!!
Thanks so much for the video and the setup help. I do have one question. I am using an AR ARXL Smoothflite in my jet. I have two REX 10s plugged into it. A primary and a secondary so it has redundant receivers. In this case would you attach the 900 receiver to the primary or the secondary receiver? Thanks so much!
You need to ask AR. It depends on the switching strategy of the AR unit and it may not suit 900 backup at all. 900 backup works with Jeti central boxes because of the strategy it uses to choose which receiver to take the signal from.
Hi Harry. Useful video. Thanks! With the antennae, are they installed perpendicular to each other or are both installed in the same Orientation? Is there a preferred Orientation?🤔
Such a useful video - thank you. Quick question - in your setup above, the satellite receiver is receiving power from the primary receiver. Is connecting a separate battery directly to each receiver ok or advisable? I don't have a central box.
Secondary receivers can be powered from the primary, they take less power than a servo. But then you should not connect a servo to any secondary receiver.
I lost a Sebart Mini Avanti with a xicoy X45 3 years ago, the fadec gave failsafe as the cause. Luckily the failsafe had cut the turbine so no flames but the airframe was a write off, luckily the plane went in nose first so the turbine in the rear fuselage was undamaged. I had been flying this model for over a year with no problems with the radio (Horus X12S) and the radio has given no problems in other models. Why failsafe? no idea, I was flying on a militery base but no one else flying had any problems. Have now bought a Jeti DS24 and will probably be using it for some of my jets with the 900MHz backup. If only Jeti receivers weren't so expensive I might use it for more models.
@@cotswoldpilot Normally fly at Barry Buddon but that day I was flying at Leuchars, a group have permission to fly there when no full size is on. Nowadays its generally only the University air cadets flying twice a week unless there a full size diversion.
Can I plug a powerbox gps into Rex 12 Ext port and my xicoy gear sequencer telemetry out into the 900? Or do I need to buy a jeti telemetry extender? Thanks
Hi Harry.. Very nice video...I am going to get a New DS 12 NG Is going to be the same in this radio to make the set up 900 MGz back up? Thanks very much Regards from colombia south América
Hi I have a strange problem, in an FMS Extra 330 I have REX7 and Rsat 900NG receivers, DS16 II transmitters, all with the latest software from May 22. 600mm twisted cable between the receivers that runs parallel to the servo cables. Left elevator and rudder servo sounds like a 60s diesel at idle, if I switch to a Rsat2 everything will be quiet and calm
It's not easy to say what the cause is. Cross talk from the Exbus cable to the servo cables is one possibility, try moving them far apart. You can use up to 1 metre cable from satellite to primary receiver. The data bit rate for 900Mhz and Rsat 2.4GHz may be different which might be why one interferes with servo cables and the other does not. If that does not work ask your retailer or ask Jeti directly through their contact web page.
Your videos about Jeti TX are excellent, I learn a lot with them. I have EX R9 and I try to connect with Rsat900NG. I use DC16 II with the 900 license paid. I binded both to the TX Ok and show 2.4Ghz and 900Mhz are working 9/9. I plug Sat in R9 to EX2 in Rsat900NG. When I disabled emision except 900, alarm is activated and asked to activate backup 900. R9 Sat1 only can be set as PPM or Default (Off), not more option. EX2 in Rsat900NG have Ex-BUS, Serial UDI 12ch, Serial UDI 16ch and S.BUS. I updated today R9 and Rsat900NG to the last available update. My understanding is that I need to have the same PPM or EX-BUS in R9 Sat and Rsat900NG EX2 when plug together, but not way. Jeti homepage says thet EX R9 support satellite receiver. Can you help about? I was looking in Google to find information about but not success, looks EX R9 is not very popular. Thanks. Alfonso.
The older R receivers cannot take Exbus from a satellite. They only take PPM. The satellite that the old R9 instructions refer to is the old RSat2 which can output PPM. I am surprised that the new 900NG cannot output PPM too, but if it is not in the menu.... You need to use the modern REX receiver.
Hello Harry. I watch your videos all the time. Great help. I am having a problem with the 900. I set it up with two REX7 receivers into a CB400 with a cortex pro. When I disable all except 900, I don’t get any control. 900 antenna is showing signal but no control of servos. Help lol
I am new to Jeti; I have never used MPX connectors before, so can someone clarify how I need to wire an MPX connector so that it can supply power to a Central Box 210, please?. I see there are + and - marks next to two of the connector pins, but what are the other 4 pins used for ?.
You can use just the end pins but when it is just used for power the 2 pins next to the end pin are also used for power, typically the wire is put in between all 3 and soldered to them. That way the current is distributed between 3 pins rather than 1.
@@cotswoldpilot Thank you Harry, I am grateful for your reply (and for your extremely informative utube videos, which I anticipate I will be viewing quite a bit in the weeks to come!)
@@Mudman435 what I do is tin the cable, slightly bend the 3 pins in towards each other, blob of solder in between attached to all 3, keep it molten and push the wire down into it. Then use a hot glue gun mould. ruclips.net/video/tkdwoVJZa9I/видео.html
Hello my friend. I would like to know base in your experience if I can use an RX12 Assist with the 900mhz as a back up with a turbine rc jet? Also if its possible to connect 2 batteries to the rx12 for power redundancy? Thanks. Have a nice day.
Yes to all, but beware that the Assist is more likely to suffer from Acoustic interference than an igyro or Cortex and must be thoroughly tested for it before flying. For two batteries use Jeti V-cable, or DSM 10, or Maxbec 2D Ex, etc etc
