@trinaq In Jenna’s defense, she was unaware of how her life turned out after her 13th birthday. Her wishing to be 30 was in an attempt to escape her socially awkward geeky ways. She never intended on ditching Matt, cutting ties with her parents, or hooking up with the creepy names dude (who was married to someone else). Hence why she was happy to see and spend time with Matt as adults. Jenna even asked Matt if she could keep the dream house he made for her and felt bad and guilty of everything that happened between them.
The young actors are terrific in this movie. This scene is such an honest depiction of what kids did to each other that it's actually painful to watch.
And when Jenna had made that wish and she became an adult and so did Matt she realized that she had taken him for granted when he was literally dating someone and was about to get married
Yes. During my childhood and teenage years, I was the Matt in a lot of people's lives. Fast forward 15 years, I'm more alone than ever, and the worst part: I miss myself. I lost my essence and quirkiness. I'm in no way the same.

Weird cause Jenna at 13 was mean but when she magically became 30 she was more childlike than her 13 year old self who was desperate at trying to be cool. Where was that girl who were rude to Matt and mom and dad when she became 30?
I wouldn’t call teenage Jenna mean, but she did make a lot of bad choices. Like ditching her only real friend to go be one of the “cool” kids who didn’t really care about her.
I didn’t like how she fronted on Matt in front of the other kids who didn’t even give a damn about her. I avoid fake ppl like that wanna be popular so bad & front on your real friends 🤦🏾♂️🤮💯.
When I was 13, I didn’t even bother trying to fit in with the popular crowd. I just invited a couple of my girlfriends and we went out to a nice dinner, movie and stayed up all night listening to music and doing prank calls😂
Sorry I know this late but I think one is around Jenna’s age cause she went to prom with him I think it was Chris. I don’t think they are 17 but they are probably in high school like freshman or sophomore.
I don’t think they were 17. At most, the guy Jenna had a crush on must’ve been 1 year older than Jenna. Like maybe a 14 year old 8th grader while Jenna was in 7th.
1:32 For those of you who already know this, the young Matt is played by Sean Marquette, who is well known for his portrayal as Mac from "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends" I can literally image someone making a fanart of Mac dancing to "Burning Down the House" by the Talking Heads, as a reference to both of Marquette's roles. This movie was also around the same time when FHFIF premiered.
She clearly didn’t have any other friends (except Matt) and was very unpopular. And that fact just proves it. Hence why she was desperate to fit in the popular kids who probably pretenders to be nice to her just to use Jenna for things, like tricking her into doing their homework for them.
As an adult you see Matt was actually the coolest one in the room.
Yes.That blonde guy wasn't even that cute.

He was so cool!
The director even thought Matt’s actor was too cool for the role. 😂😊
And now that is what it means to be 13 going on thirty ❤❤❤

I always cry at the party fight scene. Poor Matt, he was more patient with Jenna than she deserved, at least at first!

Hi, could you put the scenes of "13 going on 30" when Jenna is no longer 13 but 30 and barely noticing.
