You should never apologize for getting emotional. It speaks far louder than words. Good luck on your journey. There's no telling what you'll find/discover out there but I'm sure it'll be worthwhile.
Ritual walking journeys are a sacred custom to many indigenous cultures… most notably the aboriginals of Australia (“walkabout”). It’s scary and emotional and many times necessary for self discovery. I’m so glad I discovered you Isaiah! Now that I’m caught up on your story, I’m even more captivated. Never stop the journey inward! 🥰

New fan here, after discovering you when you walked through Wichita Falls a few days ago. I started by watching your recent side quest video with the California mountain hike, and it blew me away!! It felt like I was there too, so well done! This video reminded me of the emotions I felt before and as I started a solo drive to southern Utah from here in Texas back in 2017. I was on the verge of turning 60, and had mobility issues, but had always wanted to see southern Utah. So I did, for a week-long trip. Hubby was supportive, I rented a Suburban, and slept in the back of it for the whole trip, camping in so many of the places I had wanted to see all my life! It was a life-changing journey, one I'll never forget. Of course, nothing like the scope of the trip you are making, but for me it was huge. Watching you has reignited the travel bug for me. Even though my mobility issues are worse now, and hubby hates overnight road trips, I want to get back out on the road. While I'm still somewhat able! Thank you for doing this journey and sharing it, because so many of us can live it in a small way through you! And so many others will be encouraged to find their own joy!
Thank you Laurie! Nice to meet you! Glad you’re still pushing yourself to do things you care about. Thanks for the kind words! I do what I can! Enjoy the journey!

When we tick all of societies expectations, house, car, etc we can realise we'feel an emptiness and need space away to reflect, connect within, close to your soul, to listen to what it desires, what does it want in order to feel its authentic self and have purpose. Follow the signs, and synchronicities, listen to your intuition, ask and you will receive, sometimes we have to step forward not knowing the next step or where we're headed putting trust and faith in something greater than ourselves. In doing so we the ego quietens, others expectations fade, you"be you", and realise how connected we all are, and with nature. We all remember who you truly are, some take more action and grow more on this, we're all different.. An easy start or a challenging start .makes no difference, everyone gets to experience struggles, joy and need meaning. For some that's a house, car, friends, a partner for others their soul goes deeper, a older soul. Keep enjoying the journey en route to any destination. Remember you've already planned ahead, so allow the opportunities to unfold 🌈

Hey man, I hope you're doing okay. I've been thinking about doing something like this myself. I'm quite a bit older than you... or at least older than you look. I'm 35, and feel like I don't have much purpose. I'm in a weird place right now, going through a break up with my partner of eight years. I know something like this isn't a "cure all" but it's something I've thought about since I was 18 or so. I figure if I'm going to do it, I should make it soon before I get too much older. Much love, man. Hope all is well with you.
Thanks my man! Doing very well! Definitely not a cure all, but it’s also a beautiful thing. Try a mini one maybe and see if it resonates with the part of your soul that makes you feel alive Amigo. Let me know how it goes!

@@YouDoYouShields I thought that you could have someone to maybe get some information from. FYI: Don't take the southern route this time of year. Arizona is very hot and monsoon season is very unpredictable.
The dinner table conversation with your mom and dad was pretty revealing. It said a lot about how you were raised. You pushing out and being your own man had to happen and this trip was a catalyst. As someone who has done something similar to you, hearing your parents was triggering in a cringe way. I can't believe so many people from that generation are so tied up. Glad you got out!

I've found most of the things you need are best found on the journey itself. I bought my little bnuggy/stroller thing and put up signs so people would hopefully stop calling the police on me. It worked to a small degree I think haha
awesome job, maybe a sponsorship by the earphone company would be cool
Haha honestly. If you want to get on their case that would be awesome! Just hit up Bose!

Thanks! Hope you enjoy following the journey!
@@YouDoYouShields Cheers!

I’m FAIRLY positive I saw you in Montana yesterday or today on i90 near the Wye but I MAY have seen you in at Regis. If you were in at Regis yesterday, did you see that black bear on the side of the road?
That was me in Regis! Didn’t see the bear though! Crazy!
Nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it.

Who is flying the drone while your walking up the mountain?
Hey have you heard about the other couple who have walked across America. You can find their RUclips channel called : The Golden Road. Good luck.😎
I’ve seen a few of them actually! Pretty fun stuff to watch!
@@YouDoYouShields I thought that you could have someone to maybe get some information from.
FYI: Don't take the southern route this time of year. Arizona is very hot and monsoon season is very unpredictable.
Appreciate it! And definitely. I’m staying up north for the warm part of the year!
Reminds me of Forrest Gump lol he kept running all year.
One word... "Muy loco" 😬
Did you stop in Centraila ,Wa in 2021
Sure did!
Everyone has to find the things that make their life worth living to them!
Is the drone auto tracking?
Depends on which shot you’re talking about. It has the capacity to! Though in some shots I control it, and I’ve had my brother take a shot or two when he’s in the vicinity!
Saw you in portland, good luck :)
Appreciate it! Hope you enjoy following along!
