Brazilian here, started to study Japanese 4 months ago, i known the journey is long but content like this makes pleasant and easy to comprehend. Also i get the chance to meet a lot of beautiful places walking along. Thank you very much, can't wait for the next video and I'm glad you were guiding us thru Shinjuku station 😅 seems easy to get lost around there. ありがとうございます。
23 days left before my exam. Every day I always review the lessons I have learned and sometimes try practice questions. And now, it's time to take a break. FYI, in my country it is currently 8.41pm. 2 hours behind Japan.
This is great. As someone who is entering an intermediate Japanese class (still basic N5) being able to see grammar points and conjugated vocabulary being used while working my listening skills, much needed for me. It’s so cool to see words I now know and can identify even a small part of sentences.
I'm truly grateful because not only does it improve my Japanese listening skills, but it also gives me the opportunity to learn interesting things about Japan. The explanations are clear, and the teacher's voice is so calming and soothing to the heart. Among Japanese listening channels, this is my favorite. Please continue to upload more engaging videos for us. Respectfully, cheering for you from Myanmar!
I appreciate when showing the car in the street you did not show the number plate. Really impressed by your kindness and care and respect for other people's privacy. ❤🇬🇧
This is an amazing video. Not only am I able to hear the words I know, but the fact that there’s no background noise is so calming. And your voice is calming as well. Subscribed instantly!
I'm so happy that I found this channel! I was already listening to Podcasts to develop better listening skills, but the visuals of these videos are also really helpful to know the context if I dont remember some of the relevant words.
What I have been trying lately is listening to your videos without looking at subtitles first, try my best to understand the context from recognizing words I already know, and it's working wonders for me. ありがとうございます❤
I think I understood 75% of this video-crazy!! Of course I did need the Japanese subtitles to reach that level of comprehension and I think I happened to know a lot of the vocabulary this time but it’s still a hugely satisfying experience. I love watching your expeditions! The way you film to emphasize common names and kanji without making it feel like a lesson is both engaging and soothing to listen to. I usually watch your videos two or three times-once with only Japanese subtitles, once with the English on, and then once again just listening while I do something else. In combination with my other studies, your videos have been a great benchmark for me to gauge my gradual progress. It’s been a bit slow but each time I understand a bit more and that keeps me going. Thank you for everything you do! ❤
That's great to hear! I'm glad you're enjoying my videos and using them as a benchmark for your progress. Your comment really encouraged me. Thank you so much!!✨😁
Wow! You do such a great job with the content of the video. I love the clear audio and subtitles. You used about 5 new words I’ve picked up the few days. I like that you have very useful and interesting videos. I didn’t expect to go where we went in this video!
I used to travel a lot on the Odakyu line. I used it to go to Machida and Tokyo when I worked for Tokai University, and to go to Machida when I moved to Tokyo. My master’s dojo was in Machida.
My husband and I just got back from Japan. And I can say the train transfer part of this video is invaluable! We did so many train transfers as we traveled!!!
Thank you so much for these lessons, I really enjoyed the video style and the vocab lessons dispersed throughout the video. It's truly really helpful and engaging
Very useful lesson. Well planned. Speaks slowly and offer all the necessary vocabulary about the topic.l like the part of the station broadcast which we always listened in a station. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
This video is so helpful. I couldn't understand every word, but more than I thought I would. Also thank you for writing the hiragana above the Kanji words.
This is a really helpful way to learn. Interesting topic and so good to hear phrases in useful context - being able to adjust playback speed is a bonus !
thank you so much for this content, I am in the early stages of learning Japanese and I am a little bit overwhelmed, but I will continue what I can one day at a time. I think these videos are a great idea
You can change the playback speed of this video in the settings to make it easier for you to follow along. If this tip helped give it a like so others can see! 👍
hehe...at around 14:25 the really peaceful music stopped and suddenly the sound of the train briefly started and it sounded fittingly ominous. I'm sure that wasn't intentional but still..when you spoke of how this used to be a river I had to think of Chihiro and how sad it was for the river spirit so to me that was perfect timing ^^' all in all you were just riding a train and walking around a little and I so very very very much enjoyed it again :D yet another lovely day and I am happy to report I was able to follow along again :D I'm starting to notice that I'm developing a way of cross-reading the japanese lines and listening where I don't really read but I don't fully understood all heard either. I should look into disciplining myself in that respect. Maybe, well..I'm still consdering myself to be a beginner so maybe it's ok to cheat a little XD
I found out that many rivers in Tokyo have been covered over. I'll make a video about it in the future. I'm glad you enjoyed my videos. Thank you for your comments!!😄
What a lovely video, I was only just in Japan for the first time at Christmas, and one of the first things I had to do in Shinjuku was to find the Odakyu line, so this brought back nice memories.
I love watching your videos so much. I have learned so many things. I am looking forward to watching your video. Thank you for making such a great teaching materials. Big ❤ from Thailand

Sensei, I was surprised to hear sentences ending like this - "densha ga toori" or "hikoki ga tobi". This was a new plain usage for me. Thanks for the leaning. Keep it up!
Great lesson. Very practical. Question, at 8:43 you use もじ or 文字 for sign. Checking Google translate, it came up as "character," while sign had 8-9 different words for it, the first one being Katakana サイン and none being moji. Is moji more colloquial or idiomatic? Or is Google just wrong?
True story about Shinjuku station: It was my third visit from the US to Japan, but my FIRST time that I would not be staying with a local friend in Tokyo (and who could guide me). So it's about my second day in Tokyo. I'm still suffering from jet lag. It was mid-September, and incredibly hot and humid. I cannot READ Japanese. And.... my Japanese eSIM card had not yet been activated on my mobile phone. So it's my second day in Tokyo, and I had to go somewhere in Shinjuku. I finally arrive at Shinjuku station, and now need to figure out HOW to get to the place I wanted to go. I'm exhausted. Feel disgusting from the heat and humidity. I am overwhelmed by the size of Shinjuku station...the very many signs (99% in Japanese), not to mention the fact that there was construction being done in the station, and so there were detour signs. And I had NO working phone, so that meant NO Google Maps. NO Google Translate. And everyone else inside the station was clearly in a rush, trying to get here or there, so I knew better than to try and ask someone for help (using my limited Japanese speaking capability). I finally noticed a woman leaning against a wall, perhaps waiting to meet someone, so I went over to her to ask for her assistance, but then she pointed to her phone, to indicate that she was on a call. By that point, I felt so utterly lost that...I could almost feel the tears about to come, and wondered if I needed to find a corner somewhere to just cry. LOL But....somehow I made it out of that station...and once I was out on the street, I was able to find a person (on one of the more quiet streets, further from the station) to help me. Over time, I got quite good at finding my way around the station. I got to use certain 'landmarks', like the Lumine 1 store....the signs for the Odakyu line, etc. And once I figured out/understood that the JR System basically takes up an entire section of the overall station, and that (unless you are USING the JR System) to access any other train system in that station, you need to go entirely AROUND the JR System area, or else you need to go under or above the JR System area, in order to get to other parts of the station. Until I understood this, I found myself going around and around and around. So it really helps to understand that the JR system really takes up a large chunk of any station that it may be in.
I dont know exactly, but please revise for boost audience. Use color representative each words hiragana, kanji and english. I still struggling to make a sentences, because my vocab still low
Please continue these uploads, they are incredible for learners, and they are a great way to get exposed to more of Japan. Thank you!
Thank you! I'm planning to do more, so please stay tuned 😄

女の先生の話すによると、カフエラテを買いに行くそうです。ホームの反対回り消防署と救急車が見えます。今日の朝の空が晴れで、富士山が見えます。富士山のうえに曇も見えます。新宿駅に到着して、小田急線に乗り換える。実は表参道駅を見たことがあります。でも意味が全然わかりません。最後にタチアナ先生の教える方が面白いですね。どうもありがとうございます。
