  • A series of consumer confidence and business surveys reveal Australians aren't feeling very optimistic about the economy.
    The latest Westpac survey found the sentiment dip was centred around family finances, while there's early evidence the stage three tax cuts have done little to decrease fears of another interest rate hike.
    Alongside that, job ads have continued to decline.
    Independent economist Chris Richardson says all indications show unemployment is going to get worse before it gets better and the economy slowing further.
    But despite this, he thinks there's a low risk of Australia dipping into a recession.
