Most of those guys are goro boys(Not Staff) And some staff also do same.... I'm an officer that works there. I have made an example out of some of them and they're very scared of me.. Most of them they will take away ur misplaced luggage out of the airport. Take note Not All the police Officers there are trustworthy.
Imagine me traveling to SA for the first time in 2018 and the immigration lady asked me what are you going to do, I said I was going for vacation and the next question was “ so what are you doing to us ?” We too we have to go for vacation. Some of the girls at the desk use it as an avenue for hook-up. A girl sneaked her number to my husband. My husband showed it to me. We laughed and tore the paper. It's sad and annoying.
Same thing happened to me when I was checking in to the UK ..the lady asked me twice,first when she was checking my ticket and second when I was boarding the flight at the terminal 3
There are even people walking around who are not airport employees but working with the people who checks in your bags, instead of you paying the airlines for extra luggage, you pay those guys and they let your bags go
