I struggled with propagating the variegated wayetii as well until I learned from some RUclipsr that it requires good airflow to propagate. I had been trying to propagate it in a prop box and the leaves kept dropping. So I removed it from the prop box and just put in on my windowsill, in perlite, and I noticed that it stopped dropping leaves. It takes a long time to root though.
From what I research this one loves light and easy to get rotten if not let the soil dry completely. Not going to water this one much during winter season that is for sure 😅
I have not been able to prop the var wayettii in water or soil. Maybe moss in ziploc baggie will work. I always put my props in baggie for humidity
