@Bread Sticks Well I mean, despite it being more light hearted than the rest of the games, the premise is dark in and of itself, they are literally chasing a rampant serial killer and there are people that are killed because of it
@Bread Sticks Eh, 4 was good for what it was It never took itself too serious and was consistent with it's tone. 5 was the only one I remember thinking was off with how it went from silly comedy to expecting you to take the drama seriously
It’s hard for me to grasp that this is in the same universe as Persona 4 and 5. The difference in style and tone is so vast, you’d almost think they were different franchises entirely. The background, the music, the tone-everything. Makes you wonder what happened after 3.
@@sdark328 i mean in terms of plot, persona 2 is objectively better than 4 or 5. But just because something is better, doesnt mean its going to be more popular sadly

@Bread Sticks P4 and P3 dropped it with the P3P (it has the SMT name in the North American version for some reason) and P4G as P4 (not Golden) carried the series into a more mainstream tone and Persona 5 became pretty much one of the top 5 most popular JRPG of all time so they didn't need to act like a spin off of the Megami Tensei franchise anymore which was more popular at the time they added SMT to the names

Rando Coming from a music composer P3 ties with P4 for my favorite soundtrack. So much of P5’s soundtrack sounds awesome at first listen then it all blends together. P3 is when Meguro still blended his SMT style of writing with a more Persona-like soundtrack. Really good stuff. And P4’s soundtrack is when Persona soundtracks really became their own style. Don’t really know how the P4 OST sounds all the same to you. Thanks for coming to my ted talk lol

thats because Persona 1 and 2 and shoved in with the SMT series, since 3-5 are their own standalone series.

You should play it. It's a little bit dated in the mechanisms but its story is really great.
