Brother as soon as I saw your site, I was cringing for the after sunset winds off the lake and the sand blowing into everything. Only way I’ve ever been successful in a beach camp is to have a bottle of Jack on hand. Great video buddy.
Thanks Michael! Dude this was definitely a learning experience. Actually you can probably tell a lot of mine are, as I keep trying new things. Nice to see ya bud, got another rain one coming up next too.
I wish I could give you more than just one thumbs up for all the pain and suffering you went through to get this video to us. (I like the look of that traffic sign in the closing that was full of bullet holes!)
Glad you liked it Matthew! This one was definitely a labor of love but I'm happy with how it turned out. People DEFINITELY come here to shoot guns. I also saw a metal target hanging but it didn't make it into the video. Maybe next time, because I'll definitely be back. This was a fantastic spot. Thanks for watching!!
It's really too bad that it rained the whole time but even a bad day camping is better than most days elsewhere, I always like to watch you because your videos are honest with all the little things included like sand in your supper. take care, be safe and stay stealthy
So good to see you out there Sam ! You are literally the only dude I know who could build and maintain a fire in a heavy rain not only that but be able to cook chicken on that fire!! You are the man Sam thank you for another wonderful enjoyable video!!
Loved the video. Honestly though the cold, wind and rain looked miserable to me. I would have been freezing my butt off. Keep the videos coming and I'll keep watching.
Best part of camping is the rain and tornadoes and hurricanes to physically be in connection to. Those are the best times to camp out. ain't nothing like bad weather. Gotta love Sam Bananas though.... I enjoy all his trips
@samBananas I'd like to say thank you for your devotion to us viewers, I love your videos and will continue to love them. I have to say though even with everything that could go wrong go wrong this was an awsome video so thank you for bringing us all along.
Man I so sorry that the dog didn't like camping on the beach with you. It looks like a nice beach. I know in the summer time it would be nice out there. You take it easy buddy.
@@CampingwithSamBananas My Corgi detested the beach! A more miserable dog you could not find. I was dozing while she was staked in by my chair. She pulled out of her collar and she was gone! Total panic. Called and looked and called. Then a couple coming down to the beach, said there was a dog in the parking lot sleeping under the back of a mini van! Hahaha. She had found our car and was waiting for me. She stayed in the duplex from then on. I went to the beach alone. Corgis are mule headed little dogs and they always win!! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Hi Sam just got done binge-watching every single video. The cinematography and editing have gotten better on each one. I enjoy watching your videos every bit as much as camping with Steve. Your channel is going to explode. 100k Subs in under a year.
Eons ago in college, my friends & I used to camp at Dingmans's Ferry, PA for 1st day of fishing season. I didn't fish but the camping was always fun. The third year I went with my sister and brought the dog (a Dalmatian). We definitely were not prepared for snow, but we shoveled a spot out. We barely slept that first night. The dog kept shuddering, in spite of the blankets and I ended up putting him in my sleeping bag with me. We were miserable. When we got up in the morning the snow had thawed but everything was wet and it was getting warmer. The guys across the fire from us had a 6 person tent for 2 of them and a heater. They were so warm they slept in their undies and the ground around their tent was completely dry for about a foot around the whole tent. I had no idea camping could be that comfortable. and if I'd have known I would have wormed our way in there. The next night was way warmer, but I never took the dog after that. Dalmatians aren't built for the cold.
Great video, Sam. I can relate to keeping an eye on an area under utility construction. The area I had my eye on got swamped by fishermen and people who like to party and leave their trash behind once the construction waa over. I never did get a chance to fish or camp there.
I'm sorry Killian was not happy. There's nothing better than camping with a dog. It shows your love for him that you did was best for him at the time. Maybe he'll get used to it in smaller bits.
Hey Sam!!! Good to see you again. How big was that chicken breast 😆😆. Gutted the weather was so wild for you. Not enough banana flasks in the world to cope with all that 😁Awesome video as always. Best wishes to you as always Helen and Wayne 👍
Beach camping is fun. I do it all the time. Next time build a wind break first. It helps keep your fire straight and less sand blowing around. Looks like you had fun.
Hey Hey Sam! Been a minute since your last video. Guess I'd better call off the search party. You always make the most of it, even with crappy weather. Thanks for sharing sir and great outing.🍌👍
Good onya for sticking it out under less than perfect conditions. Just a suggestion, but if you bury a wrist thick stick a foot down in the sand with your tarp line around it, it will likely stay put. Tie your knot of choice above ground so when your ready to leave you dont need to dig the stick up, and you can tension it as needed. Cheers.
I camp on a beach pretty often and you have to use 12 inch stakes. Winter camping on beach you will have wind pretty often and specially if it rains, that tiny tarp is useless. I was glad to see that you actually managed to have a fire and cooked a nice meal under tough conditions, that was nice. Thank you for sharing with us your camping, I was a bit worry about your equipment, you really travel light. Stay safe.

Hello there, Sam. This was Awesome as always. You looked soaked when you first crawled into the tent GEEZERS you looked cold 🥶 😳 I was hoping you didn't get sick 😬. You did awesome for it being your first-time tent camping on the beach. That tarp gave you a fight didn't it? I just found you. I love the shout-out to other channels. Keep up the good work. I have a channel, and I go thru down times where I just can't get motivated to make a video. I'm in the middle of it now. Stay chill 😎
It's always more comfy when you first lie down or even if you take a nap, but shit gets real when you try to sleep sleep. That happened to me twice on two raised beds I made out in the wild. It happens. The other thing that happened was I wasn't able to blow up my pool floaty that I was going to use as an air mattress. I'm hoping this was because it was new. In any case, paying $2 is well worth it even if I have to invest in something else to blow it up in the field. I think I'd have to be living in a tent in Antarctica to actually need insulation.
Sam, I had to dump the sand out of my shoes after this beach adventure..I'll bet Mrs Bananas gave you the once over with the leaf blower when you got home!
So, I'm from California and in the intro to this video, I was wondering why the water at the edge of the shore wasn't moving. lmao We had it snow more than I've ever seen this past winter (which was several hours and a whole half inch that actually stuck after all the rain that preceded it) but I've never seen the edge of such a body of water get icy (puddles don't count).
Woah! Right when it starts to rain here, it gets a lot colder beforehand. I guess it would be the opposite if it's already freezing cold. Like Corporal Kelly says, though, "If it ain't raining, we ain't training."
Hey brother how you been? I've been waiting seems like for ever for a new video from you. You are by far my favorite person to watch. Hope you have been good?
Great video as usual buddy! Quick question, how do you keep your tripod from flying away with the umbrella in windy conditions? I struggle with it often lol. Cheers :)
Thanks man! To be honest, it's a constant problem. I only show once or twice of the tripod tipping over. But in reality this is probably happening 15+ times on a trip like this. I usually leave with a broken umbrella.
@@CampingwithSamBananas I feel your pain lol. The umbrella is a blessing and a curse! I want to burn it by the end of our rainy trips 😂 I’ve tried tying a piece of para cord to the middle of the tripod and and then staking it to the ground, problem is it just takes so much time to move it every couple of minutes. Take care buddy, looking forward to the next one :)
Camping on a secluded beach sounds good on paper. You'd think it'd be comfy sleeping on sand but it's not. You might only have to get down a couple of inches in the sand and hit the water line. Or you kick up a layer of nasty-smelling sand. Plus seclusion means more chances for critters to come by. Never camp on a beach in bear country b/c that's their main feeding grounds. Sorry your doggo didn't like sitting on a beach in a tent. lol! Wasn't havin' it.
Yep, plus the tent pegs that hold great in dirt won't hold in sand no matter how deep you drive them. The wind is always brutal coming off the water. Storms pop up almost without warning. I bought some old Army pegs that they use for their big tents so I could camp on sand. Aluminum and 16 inches long. I drive them in with a sledge hammer.
Yeah definitely an interesting experience. I'll be using the sleeping pad in the future. And yes hopefully the little guy can hang with me in the future. I'm gonna keep trying.

Wow I'm glad you're back 🤘😎
Thanks for tuning in!
