Wow - what an epic battle - great stuff! Having watched your other IABSM AARs I've gone and bought the rules and the 'Where The Hell Have You Boys Been' supplement to match my current 15mm collection - you should get a commission from the Lardies!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it, this was a great game to play and IABSM is a great set of rules. You won't be disappointed. LOL, that's what I'm working towards! Ha ha.
Hi Alex, I throughly enjoyed your 2FL IABSM solo Stalingrad game. I had to watch it over a few evenings in order grasp the more involved aspects of solo play. OBTW, I was delighted to read up about the same game in your article in the latest Lard Magazine. Well done Sir!
Thanks for that Robert, I am glad you enjoyed the video and the article! I'm not surprised it took a while to watch, the took me over two days to play!
Hi Alex, I’ve come to the party late! Great game, I’m learning the rules so your videos are a great help! Those flame throwers are brutal!! As a suggestion maybe reveal all soviet blinds after the Germans had spotted say 1/4 of them. This would allow for the defenders to reinforce? Where was Vasily Zaitsev?? Lol Please play some more IABSM. Kind regards, Chris
Cheers, glad you enjoyed the video and welcome aboard! Yeah, you could reveal the defenders, this was just a try out on the cuff, but do whatever would work for you. If you are learning IABSM check out my four part how to play series on the channel.
Still have my job, but no social obligations means I finally have time to play. Yesterday, I played Avalon Hill's MBT. My Motor Rifle Battalion's attack folded up like a lawn chair against the West German defences. 70% casualties and only a single village taken.
Well I have just watched the most exciting battle AA back to back on Stalingrad and have enjoyed them so much, excellent games and now it's started me off on another project🤔 what scale/who,s figures and models (🤔 15mm) I will now also have to get the rules😁 great vids keep up the good work🤓
hi there, great job! Glad somebody in IABSM community has stepped up and made these intro vids. Question: at 11:30 mark, you are having all Soviet units within 20 inches of a German be revealed on board. Can you explain why that is?
Hi Dan, thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I chose 20 inches as the range for reveal so that the units wouldn't be in close range immediately and would give the Germans enough space to react. If you watch the earlier Chain of Command video, I did the reveal at 12 inches, which was just too short and the units were immediately in close range. That's all there is to it really.
@@StormofSteelWargaming ok. I guess I was confused because I did not see you roll for the spotting attempts for the Germans to try and reveal what was hiding in each building.
Yes, I know Chain of Command very well, look at my other videos and you'll see tons of CoC AARs, including this one set in Stalingrad: ruclips.net/video/QQe6v3mTuOs/видео.html I am aware of Big CoC and have the rules, but have not played a game of it.
Question, looking for a game to replace Flame of War with that uses 15mm models. I see IABSM uses this scale however squads are based 3 per base not exactly like FOW. Are the based models from FOW comparable with IABSM?.. thanks. This was a HUGE game. Well done.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the game. The basing is only my choice, tbh and is because we played Rapid Fire for years and I didn't want to spend a lot of the game moving figures individually. IABSM is not strict on numbers on bases and you can use anything from individual figures to the entire section based together, as long as you have a way to mark casualties. As you see in the video, I use red caps, but anything would work. Have a look at my other videos as there is a three part series on how to play IABSM which explains some of the basics of the game, including basing.
Absolutely love this video. Really demonstrates the system, and the battle.
😀
Only part watched so far, but hugely enjoying what you have done - thanks for taking so much time to share it.
Cheers Norm, I hope you enjoy the rest of the show!
I love the sun going down in the 2:03 point. Very atmospheric!
This was brilliant - thank you for going to the effort of recording / narrating!
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

That is one nice historical board bro
Cheers buddy!

Fully watched and enjoyed the game and your table - love the trashed tram model - thanks.
Thanks Norm, glad you liked it. The tram came from Kerr & King and it is a lovely piece.
Great!!! I´ll see and share your video!
Thank you very much!
I was waiting for a battle report of this game system for years. Thank you for this video.
No problem, I am glad you enjoyed it. You're in luck as my next two videos are both IABSM AARs, so stay tuned!
Nice minis and nice board! Thanks for sharing. I’m building a German force for Stalingrad games right now - but in 6mm.
Thank you! Stalingrad in 6mm would be epic!
Awesome Battle!I just love these AAR's. Very entertaining.
Cheers Andrew!!

This is great finally seeing videos w this game.

Excellent, sounds like a great game
great work. making me buy the rule set. seems great!
Thank you, yes you really should. IABSM is an excellent rule set and there are tons of supplements for it.

Loverly layout. o7

@@dsenebrecht Yep, I did away with the spotting rolls as I was playing solo and the enemy was randomly set up anyway with some of them being dummies.
@@StormofSteelWargaming ah, ok. thanks.
That table would suit Chain of Command so well - particularly the Big CoC version.

Here's part one ruclips.net/video/ugBqJOwYh8w/видео.html
I’m going to use one stand of FOW as a squad and just count casualties via a counter...I think.
What is your experience, anyone's experience, playing 'I Ain't Been Shot Mum' with 28mm?
I've never played it with 28mm, but I can imagine the table would be a bit crowded. Chain of Command works well with 28mm though.
cool stuff!
Cheers!
Any plans for more reports?
There's always plans, just never any time! I will return to IABSM at some point in the future.
Storm of Steel Wargaming understood.
Scale please?
15mm buddy.
This 20mm?
15mm.
