First step is always the hardest but like they said in the show "It gets easier.". Trust me the life and you especially you worth working on. Nothing lasts forever. Happiness understood as that feeling of bliss, yes. But happiness understood as inner peace is something we all strive to have and I think is what people are really after when they look for happiness. Being at peace with yourself allows you to weather and ride out any storms that may hit you and come out of it better or at least not having been sunk.
Only downside is that the fleeting happiness doesnt last long and isnt worth the wait. Ill probably off myself at some point down the road when i cant take it anymore.
I interpret the line "everybody loves you, but nobody likes you" means that a lot of people look after you out of obligation or duty and nobody just likes you as a person.

For people who are confused about "everybody loves you but nobody likes you": It's pretty common for people to say "I love so-and-so", especially when it comes to celebrities. There are people who'd go crazy upon seeing you. But how many of these same people actually like you as a person? They love your image or job or money or whatever else you have to offer them, but no one likes you for who you are. And maybe that says something about the kind of person you are.
I took it as it’s easier for people to pretend and put up with you than actually love you and be willing to do something for you. When you’re rich and famous you’re surrounded by people or just a normal person friends and your family but when you go broke or do something wrong are those people by your side? If they’re not it hurts.

Why the hell is there so many of us, I thought I was the only one. I made my "friends" laugh as a child, they laughed at me, but I didn't give a fuck, I was warmed by the thought that I was making them happy, but then I began to feel sad and I got depressed, and then I realized that nobody needed me I became quiet and stopped talking to people and they didn't give a fuck, they didn't see me I was a ghost for them. this is how I now sit on pills for depression with the knowledge that my "friends" didn't give a shit about me.

Going on 32 and single and I can really relate to that statement. I have met quite a few people over the last couple years who I had great chemistry with but it never worked out. Because eventually one of us would think he or she could do better and leave. But there is no Mr. or Mrs. perfect out there. Everyone is flawed and it doesn't get better with age, it gets worse, because you carry all those wounds and regrets with you, making it that much harder for another person to really connect...

My friend that committed suicide about 2 years ago loved this edit. I remember we had a heart to heart about everybody loving you and nobody liking you. I think we came to the agreement that sometimes It’s better to be liked then loved because you are more tolerable and enjoyable to others. I remember he quoted this for a long time and he would always listen to this when he could would even play it back to back sometimes. He was a high spirited person funny smart and unique so when he did play it I always thought because he thought it was catchy but I guess there was more to it than that. I'm so sorry for your loss. He seems like he was a good man. I lost one of my best friends to suicide when we were 16. He thought everyone would just forget him, and that we would all go on as normal within a year or so. I have never forgotten him, and I will never forget him. He was a kind, sweet, gentle giant of a person. It is weird to try and think of him as a man, because we were just kids. He would tower over most people, but would always raise you up and was always noticing your best attributes. He would smile with all his teeth, and his laugh would shake his entire body. His name was Daniel Dal Canto, and I miss him. Thank you for talking about your friend, I know how much this loss can hurt. You are not alone in this.

it's rare to find a show that you wish you could watch for the first time again. breaking bad, gravity falls, and a few others. Bojack Horseman is one of those shows. i've watched it like 5 times now and i can never get enough of it. it's almost not even fair how good it is

I think you've got a really good point. I feel like my friends are just people who I do like but I'm just around until I move on to better things so I sometimes feel like I'm alone even in a big group of people.
My dad used to say something like this to me "kid, I'll always love you, but I don't always have to like you". It really put things into perspective for me, that and "If you can count all your best friends on one hand you're the luckiest person in the world" as well as "Kid, you don't NEED anyone in your life, you WANT people in your life".
I don’t know if you’ll see this but I used to be in the same spot. It’s easier said than done but I literally just went out to find another group of friends. I’m still friends and get along great with my first group but it’s easy to get stuck in the rut or pattern of being someone ur not happy with being if you’re around the same people who make you like that all the time. Being able to be yourself around others is important and i understand it feels like your friends right now are the only people who’s opinions will ever matter but that’s not true and there’s always people to find and be yourself around. Maybe in class, through and old childhood friend you could reconnect with or somewhere else entirely. Just because you think you have all the friends that wont ever care about you know doesn’t mean that they’re the be all end all. You will feel better
Have you tried reaching out to them and communicating about how you feel or what’s going on? Sometimes people just can’t see their friend’s mental health declining because they’re caught up in their own issues.

It's okay to understand why someone is cruel or inconsiderate. But make no mistake, just because it is understandable doesn't mean it is acceptable. This describes me.. I always make sure that everyone is happy once I realized that most people I knew were sad. I tried to be funny and make people laugh, I acquired the name Larry as a joke at school, and I would run around and just try to make people happy. I listened to all their problems, I tried to help, I would try to be there for everyone. I didn't want to face my problems, so I took everyone else's. It worked for a while, and when I was sad I would go vent on comment sections... then I got this one friend really recently, and I've been venting like crazy, all my emotions. I'm trying to stop because I know no one cares and its annoying. Luckily after I realized I said alot I played it off as a joke and moved on with my life.

I always thought it meant like love is usually unconditional, like with family, there your family so you kind have to love them but not necessarily like then for them.

If you feel like he’s you, I feel you need to sit down and have a very long think about WHY. The point of Bojack is he’s not a character to idealize or be like. He’s the absolute worst human/animal kind has to offer and I didn’t see that for a long time until Diana called him out and it made me realize...I’m ROOTING for a would-be rapist, toxic, emotionally abusive prick...it woke me up to the things I was willing to forgive cause he’s the main character of a tv show. Bojack is NOT a good person and every person who finally ditches him ends up better for it.
Bailey Logan yeah...this whole time you’re watching this story from an observer’s standpoint. His actions seem humorous because you’re on the outside, but to PC, Diane, and Todd he has manipulated and hurt them continuously. I never really understood Dianes annoyance. But the turning point for me was finding out Bojack waited seventeen minutes to call an ambulance for Sarah Lynn, just one shot of narcan would’ve saved her life and he threw that chance away to cover his own ass.
I thought about commenting on this for a while. Everybody seems to relate to the character of Bojack but in my case I strongly relate to the guy talking to him at the beginning of the clip. I had an almost identical fight with an old friend of mine, he's gone now and I've moved on with my life. It's strange but I used to think that I could save everybody that had problems or felt like shit every day, people told me I couldn't but I refused to listen. It got me hurt in ways that I didn't even think were possible, it led me to the realisation that sometimes people reach a point where they're just too far gone, and when that happens you need to let them go.
I completely get you. I had a best friend, we were so close and practically brothers. But he was so toxic to everyone, including me, and I tried so hard to help him and defend his actions. But ultimately I was used, whether he meant to do it or not. He was the one who abandoned me, but when he tried to crawl back to me, I told him off and said I didn't want to be hurt anymore. I was such a helpful person for years. I helped everyone, stayed nights awake to stop them from commiting. I was there for everyone but no one was there for me. All of my power and emotion were used by them, they also took something but never gave me something back. I realized it too late, now I care less. I don't think it's bad I'm just sad about that it have to come that far for me to realize i was used. Now when anyone wants my help I realized there's a system most of them are like 'no one can help me' but they don't start search the things by themself they keep saying ah yea person ... is the fault, but no. Mostly it's them and they don't want to realize and say you're a liar, but you just want to help. I helped a lot and just a few of them came back and apologized to me, because of what they said and did to me while they thought they're right. And the others I know they're not that far to get that it's their fault and they don't have the guts to apologize to me and say that I was right.
I feel like people only take away the "philosophical" quotes that this show is basically known for, but nobody really takes the time to ask if those quotes apply to them. I think one that everyone should at least consider is the "You can't keep doing bad things, and then feel bad about yourself. You need to be better." This line may not apply to everyone, but it sure as shit applies to me. Is talking in a youtube comment section really gonna fix the issues I have with myself? No, not really. But hey, at least it makes me feel better.
As someone with social anxiety, this hits the spot. My school life is about to come to an end, and I have spent most of it worrying what others might think if I did this or that. Although I want to have fun, a part of me does not allow me to do so.
Honestly bro, I feel the same. I've been in a group home, abandoned by my parents, mistreated and abused. I always wanted to find a meaningful friendship before I graduated and honestly I couldn't see it. Just this weekend I've learned and now starting to let go and just see it for how it is. The more you let you're past, fears, and shortcomings fester and build up inside you you'll eventually be blind to what's Infront of you. I had social anxiety and still do now. It's so lonely. I think this constant. I wasted my young school years like this, and it just feels like an empty hollow void. I hope the same thing doesn't happen to you because it's wasting your best years.
it’s been years and i still hear that song and replay the quote “everyone loves you but nobody likes you” because throughout my whole life that has been me and still living with it to this day i wish i could let go sometimes but i know what pain it will bring to everyone
The change in Todd’s voice... up until this point he was always the goofy character and his voice stayed and after this point manly stays the same but when he says “fuck man”. You can hear the pain. I maybe overthinking this but this scene is definitely by far one of my favourites in the show because they took the most lovable goofy character and made him serious. That’s some good shit.

I like the line "Everybody loves you, but nobody likes you" because you can interpret it so many different ways. It's my second favorite line of the show after "I do love you, by the way. I mean as much as I am capable of loving anyone.. which is never enough."
I decipher the title as: Most people, out of moral or social obligations love you, but all those people don't want to be with you because they don't like your character in general.
@@tsuwundere It all happened 15 years ago. I went to Italy with my family, my wife, two sweet daughters and a son for the Annual Italian cookfest. Anyways we were driving from the airport to our hotel, and we had with us a container full of lamb sauce for the Italian cooks. I was a little tired and dozed off, when suddenly one of the car tires burst and our car got out of control hitting a concrete lightpost near the road. My wife and daughters were stuck in the car, my son immediately died from impact but that's not important. What's important is the the lamb sauce, oh, the lamb sauce was spilt all over the road. I still remember that day every single night and it haunts me to this day.
Bojack was guy who just needed a hug, a simple act of kindness from a stranger. It’s something I noticed was anytime a complete stranger did something nice for him his life improved. Be nice y’all
I watched all the seasons of this show as they came out. Throughout all of it, as each year went by and each new season was released, I kept holding out hope for Bojack. Redemption that never came. No matter how deplorable his actions got, I always hoped he’d end up redeeming himself somehow and sympathised with him. It wasn’t until I rewatched that I started to lose that sympathy, as I knew ultimately he just keeps repeating his toxic cycle of shitty behaviour throughout all the seasons and what were left with at the end is completely ambiguous. Will he ever be better? Can he ever atone for what he’s done? The lesson I learned from this incredible series is that no matter how many bad things you experience as you’re growing up or even in your adult life, YOU are responsible for your own actions. You can’t escape the wrong decision by shifting the blame to those you perceive responsible for those actions; for the person you see yourself as. In the famous words of Todd Chavez, fuck man, what else is there to say?

Don’t stress, because in the end your mental health/well being is more important 7. Don’t do it if you don’t want to 8. Everything has a ending 9. Life is like a roller coster 10. "Everybody loves you, but nobody likes you" I was very depressed lately and I never watched the series but I saw it in a sad compilation video and I instantly felt connected to Bojack. This sentence hit me so hard because of so many reasons like hearing a friend of my brother say that I am the worst member of my family and he instantly agrees. Stuff like that. This and when Bojack says that he wants to feel good about himself but doesn't know how or if he even can, are the two lines that hit me so deep and describe me and my life so well.
This show literally taught me two important life choices 1. In times of depression, never give up straight away and end it all. 2. Make sure you never get laid by someone from your days of fame thats currently on a drug addiction

It's pretty common for people to say "I love so-and-so", especially when it comes to celebrities. There are people who'd go crazy upon seeing you. But how many of these same people actually like you as a person? They love your image or job or money or whatever else you have to offer them, but no one likes you for who you are. And maybe that says something about the kind of person you are.
Yes and also people love out of obligation i.e. family, friends, co-workers, etc. if they didn’t have that relationship to you, would they like you?
I took it as it’s easier for people to pretend and put up with you than actually love you and be willing to do something for you. When you’re rich and famous you’re surrounded by people or just a normal person friends and your family but when you go broke or do something wrong are those people by your side? If they’re not it hurts.

Going on 32 and single and I can really relate to that statement. I have met quite a few people over the last couple years who I had great chemistry with but it never worked out. Because eventually one of us would think he or she could do better and leave. But there is no Mr. or Mrs. perfect out there. Everyone is flawed and it doesn't get better with age, it gets worse, because you carry all those wounds and regrets with you, making it that much harder for another person to really connect...

My friend that committed suicide about 2 years ago loved this edit. I remember we had a heart to heart about everybody loving you and nobody liking you. I think we came to the agreement that sometimes It’s better to be liked then loved because you are more tolerable and enjoyable to others. I remember he quoted this for a long time and he would always listen to this when he could would even play it back to back sometimes. He was a high spirited person funny smart and unique so when he did play it I always thought because he thought it was catchy but I guess there was more to it than that. I'm so sorry for your loss. He seems like he was a good man. I lost one of my best friends to suicide when we were 16. He thought everyone would just forget him, and that we would all go on as normal within a year or so. I have never forgotten him, and I will never forget him. He was a kind, sweet, gentle giant of a person. It is weird to try and think of him as a man, because we were just kids. He would tower over most people, but would always raise you up and was always noticing your best attributes. He would smile with all his teeth, and his laugh would shake his entire body. His name was Daniel Dal Canto, and I miss him.

it's rare to find a show that you wish you could watch for the first time again. breaking bad, gravity falls, and a few others. Bojack Horseman is one of those shows. i've watched it like 5 times now and i can never get enough of it. it's almost not even fair how good it is

I don’t know if you’ll see this but I used to be in the same spot. It’s easier said than done but I literally just went out to find another group of friends. I’m still friends and get along great with my first group but it’s easy to get stuck in the rut or pattern of being someone ur not happy with being if you’re around the same people who make you like that all the time. Being able to be yourself around others is important and i understand it feels like your friends right now are the only people who’s opinions will ever matter but that’s not true and there’s always people to find and be yourself around. Maybe in class, through and old childhood friend you could reconnect with or somewhere else entirely. Just because you think you have all the friends that wont ever care about you know doesn’t mean that they’re the be all end all. You will feel better

This describes me.. I always make sure that everyone is happy once I realized that most people I knew were sad. I tried to be funny and make people laugh, I acquired the name Larry as a joke at school, and I would run around and just try to make people happy. I listened to all their problems, I tried to help, I would try to be there for everyone. I didn't want to face my problems, so I took everyone else's. It worked for a while, and when I was sad I would go vent on comment sections... then I got this one friend really recently, and I've been venting like crazy, all my emotions. I'm trying to stop because I know no one cares and its annoying. Luckily after I realized I said alot I played it off as a joke and moved on with my life.

His actions seem humorous because you’re on the outside, but to PC, Diane, and Todd he has manipulated and hurt them continuously. I never really understood Dianes annoyance. But the turning point for me was finding out Bojack waited seventeen minutes to call an ambulance for Sarah Lynn, just one shot of narcan would’ve saved her life and he threw that chance away to cover his own ass.

I thought about commenting on this for a while. Everybody seems to relate to the character of Bojack but in my case I strongly relate to the guy talking to him at the beginning of the clip.
I had an almost identical fight with an old friend of mine, he's gone now and I've moved on with my life. It's strange but I used to think that I could save everybody that had problems or felt like shit every day, people told me I couldn't but I refused to listen. It got me hurt in ways that I didn't even think were possible, it led me to the realisation that sometimes people reach a point where they're just too far gone, and when that happens you need to let them go.
I completely get you. I had a best friend, we were so close and practically brothers. But he was so toxic to everyone, including me, and I tried so hard to help him and defend his actions. But ultimately I was used, whether he meant to do it or not. He was the one who abandoned me, but when he tried to crawl back to me, I told him off and said I didn't want to be hurt anymore.
It's never easy being the one to tell someone they're the reason they have their problems. Thank you for commenting and sharing your perspective

I was such a helpful person for years. I helped everyone, stayed nights awake to stop them from commiting. I was there for everyone but no one was there for me. All of my power and emotion were used by them, they also took something but never gave me something back. I realized it too late, now I care less. I don't think it's bad I'm just sad about that it have to come that far for me to realize i was used. Now when anyone wants my help I realized there's a system most of them are like 'no one can help me' but they don't start search the things by themself they keep saying ah yea person ... is the fault, but no. Mostly it's them and they don't want to realize and say you're a liar, but you just want to help. I helped a lot and just a few of them came back and apologized to me, because of what they said and did to me while they thought they're right. And the others I know they're not that far to get that it's their fault and they don't have the guts to apologize to me and say that I was right.
I feel like people only take away the "philosophical" quotes that this show is basically known for, but nobody really takes the time to ask if those quotes apply to them. I think one that everyone should at least consider is the "You can't keep doing bad things, and then feel bad about yourself. You need to be better." This line may not apply to everyone, but it sure as shit applies to me. Is talking in a youtube comment section really gonna fix the issues I have with myself? No, not really. But hey, at least it makes me feel better.

As someone with social anxiety, this hits the spot. My school life is about to come to an end, and I have spent most of it worrying what others might think if I did this or that. Although I want to have fun, a part of me does not allow me to do so.
Honestly bro, I feel the same. I've been in a group home, abandoned by my parents, mistreated and abused. I always wanted to find a meaningful friendship before I graduated and honestly I couldn't see it. Just this weekend I've learned and now starting to let go and just see it for how it is. The more you let you're past, fears, and shortcomings fester and build up inside you you'll eventually be blind to what's Infront of you. I maybe overthinking this but this scene is definitely by far one of my favourites in the show because they took the most lovable goofy character and made him serious. That’s some good shit.

Anyways we were driving from the airport to our hotel, and we had with us a container full of lamb sauce for the Italian cooks. I was a little tired and dozed off, when suddenly one of the car tires burst and our car got out of control hitting a concrete lightpost near the road. My wife and daughters were stuck in the car, my son immediately died from impact but that's not important. What's important is the the lamb sauce, oh, the lamb sauce was spilt all over the road. I still remember that day every single night and it haunts me to this day.

I watched all the seasons of this show as they came out. Throughout all of it, as each year went by and each new season was released, I kept holding out hope for Bojack. Redemption that never came. No matter how deplorable his actions got, I always hoped he’d end up redeeming himself somehow and sympathised with him. It wasn’t until I rewatched that I started to lose that sympathy, as I knew ultimately he just keeps repeating his toxic cycle of shitty behaviour throughout all the seasons and what were left with at the end is completely ambiguous. Will he ever be better? Can he ever atone for what he’s done? The lesson I learned from this incredible series is that no matter how many bad things you experience as you’re growing up or even in your adult life, YOU are responsible for your own actions. You can’t escape the wrong decision by shifting the blame to those you perceive responsible for those actions; for the person you see yourself as.

"Everybody loves you, but nobody likes you" I was very depressed lately and I never watched the series but I saw it in a sad compilation video and I instantly felt connected to Bojack. This sentence hit me so hard because of so many reasons like hearing a friend of my brother say that I am the worst member of my family and he instantly agrees. Stuff like that. This and when Bojack says that he wants to feel good about himself but doesn't know how or if he even can, are the two lines that hit me so deep and describe me and my life so well.
