Holy cow!! Was looking into buying and installing an entire new lock and not looking forward to it. Didn't know you could order new keys with that number on the lock! Just ordered a couple. Thanks a bunch!!!
Thank you, you saved me, I can’t even immagine what the University would have done to me if I couldn’t reinstall the core lock back in. They would have probably took some points from my behavior points and would remember me for years.
Ok, the hook pick is pushing up the last wafer--normally the 6th wafer if it's a 5-wafer lock. This 6th wafer is the retaining wafer. With the cylinder removed, it's a simple matter of going to a hardware store and finding a key that fits into the the keyway--try Y11 to Y13, or the CO-series. Then simply file down the key at the spaces where the wafer discs are too high... until the wafers are flush with the body. Then reinsert and you have a working key.
Just One of the draws won't Stay locked in the vertical cabinet. It's a oval shaped lock =. I tried taking out the draw and reinserting that one drawer (2nd from the top) won't catch ]. What to do ?
How do you replace or find a key to a same type of lock in a cabinets Its like a wood dresser with a lock simular to the one in the video. Thanks if you can help .

Plxxzzz upload a video about that problem too because I have a huge issue about my cupboard. It's hollow from inside and the lock nosel is not there where we insert the key. How to open that cupboard? Plzxxzx upload a video about this matter
I went and bought new cylinders, bought the Herman Miller keys according to the number on the locks (two different ones), bought TWO different types of picks, and then even bought two Herman Miller Master Keys. And these dang thing STILL will not come out! 🤬
@raining Thanks! I did figure something out last night while googling around. A Master key is not the same as a Pull key, which I thought was. So I ordered some Herman Miller Pull keys for the locks. If that doesn't work I'm getting the drill out!! 😁
Regrettably, I used a plastic hook pick and now the keyhole is stuck with part plastic hook broken off in there 😂 …what is the best way to remove stuck plastic and lock?

Thank you for this 🙏🏽
May be a silly question, can anyone come up and pull the cylinder out with a hook key and gain access that way?
Only some locks can do this. Some are set in place and are not removable
Only if the lock is in the “unlocked position”. So as long as it’s locked, they cannot remove the cylinder I think.
@@rekeytraining Does the lock need to be in the unlocked position?

Nice video! Thanks 🙏

Some don’t unfortunately. Sorry to hear that.
You can buy new keys online sometimes with the cylinder number and cabinet manufacturer info

Push it out from the back of the cylinder :/ if you can get back there. Or drill it out and replace the cylinder
