    If any of you don't really know how to sew or don't have any materials or you don't have the time, you can buy a Japanese uniform from any online store like amazon, eBay, etc. And you can buy a beige sweater from your local store or online.
    My tip to budget cosplay is buy any clothes that is close to the character's design. If you want to make your own, then that's fine. You may have to spend a lot of money for materials

      That's why for this tutorial I purchased the sweater (Amazon link the the description) and customized a T-shirt with a sailor collar- that was the most budget friendly option for my personal situation- but everyone is different!

    This tutorial is so helpful! It is so much easier than trying to figure it out in my own! One question though: How many yards of the navy blue fabric did you use?

    • @KoumoriNoHimeCosplay
      @KoumoriNoHimeCosplay  5 лет назад

      Thank you! I think I used about two yards, though it would depend on the width of the fabric and the measurements of the person wearing it.

    Why do you use pins..?

    • @KoumoriNoHimeCosplay
      @KoumoriNoHimeCosplay  5 лет назад +2

      Are you referring to when I pin the pleats? That's to keep the pieces of fabric matched together until they are sewn/ironed. I'm sorry, I'm not sure if I'm properly answering/understanding the question.

    how did you figure out the measurements for the neck piece?

    • @KoumoriNoHimeCosplay
      @KoumoriNoHimeCosplay  4 года назад

      Which part? The collar itself or the little insert piece? For the insert piece I measured the length and width of the opening, then added extra so it would overlap the underside of the shirt and have room to be sewn in place.

    Hello! I love your tutorial, sadly I don’t know how to sew and can’t simply just buy online since sizes for plus size don’t really exist, is there anything to do more for the skirt?

      Thank you! I just washed mine in a washing machine, though it may be best for the sweater to let it air dry instead of tumble dry.

    I plan on going to JoAnns today. What kind of cotton did you use for the skirt and collar? They have broadcloth, quilt cotton, and other stuff but I’m just not sure which to get. I don’t want it to be too thin but I also don’t want it to be too thick

    How many yards of dark blue fabric did you use?

    • @KoumoriNoHimeCosplay
      @KoumoriNoHimeCosplay  2 года назад +1

      The number of yards needed depend on the waist measurement of the person wearing it and how long the skirt is going to be. I don't remember how much I used for mine, but I think it was between 1.5-2 yards of 44in wide fabric.
