Thank you for this! I would like to ask you how in the world did you get the plugin interface to open up by selecting a channel on the UF8 (2:20)? This is a feature I am really longing for and you just did this..how?? Appreciate if you can take time to answer please. :)
hi - this worked by putting the plugin (SSL2 or B for example on the first plugin slot in Logic. Then also, the purple link, in the plugin must be activated. Hope this helps.
This is FANTASTIC thanks. I am a Logic Pro user of many years, I sold my iCon Qcon units and bought the two SSL controllers. The SSL software is good, I am very happy after just one week of suing them. Sadly I struggle with getting UF8 to follow my software instruments and buses. I have created tracks for all instruments and buses in main arrange window but they do not all show in UF8. I wonder if it is because I have two monitor screens that confuses UF8? Can you switch between your monitor screens and UF8 will show all tracks/channels on the selected screen?
hey thanks for that nice comment. So the trick with that is that you want to make sure that the bus window only selects busses, the track window only selects tracks, and that you create a track for the busses (just like you would when you need to automate them). Then there is an absolute order that spans over all monitors, and UF8 can scroll through anything. I have a track follow / UF8 folow / UC1 video dealing with that a bit on my channel, in case that is helpful.
Thanks. It's quite easy as you can press the plugin button press on the rotary encoders. I also made a video how you can customize which parameters are being displayed in which order on the UF8, for any plugin in Logic Pro X.
Follow up comment here, could you put the template in the description? Previous one has expired, I tried finding a way to contact directly but I can't. Wouldn't mind donating a couple bucks for the trouble
You are absolutely killing it showing the real world implementation with this new SSL ecosystem! Someone said that SSL native strip CAN be on a different slot as long as they are all on that same slot across the session… like the second slot so that you don’t have to print all your virtual instruments before mixing. I know you prefer the first slot, but could you possibly confirm if the UC1 works if all the channels are on the second or third slot? Would you be willing to check that out? It’s kind of a dealbreaker for me and I’m having trouble finding the answer.
Thanks for that very kind comment. And yes, absolutely - UC1 can be on any slot. I tested that out in a previous video. You can put them on any slot, in different orders, on different channels, or busses. Heck I even put it on Adobe Premiere, and Native Instruments Maschine - none of them even mentioned, and it worked. Putting in on Slot 1 in Daw has the benefit of UC1 following the track selection (via mouse or UF8) in the most reliable way (Logic for example loads slot 1). Click on Violin on track 77, and UC1 will display 77 and "Violin" (and go to that track) without you having to dial that up. So UC1 just following around. That's not always a needed outcome though. Imagine you want to be able to click on "Cello" and don't want UC1 to follow. You rather want it to stay on "Violin" so you can tweak one channel with the mouse (or UF8 etc) , and other with UC1. In that case putting it on another is actually a benefit. Hope that helps.
Solid vid. Thx mate
Glad you enjoyed it

great video. How do you control third party plugins using the UF8?

@@massivebeatzz thank you very much....I am going to try now
@@massivebeatzz hmmmm I tried but I don't get it. Still can't control third party plugins with the UF8

@@massivebeatzz much appreciated!
Can you do a setup with pyramix? How did you do it with uf8? It's really a hassle! Many thanks!
not sure what Pyramix is.

Liked and subbed! The link for template doesn't work anymore, could you create a new one by chance or possibly send you a PM?
Thanks for watching and subbing. Feel free to DM me and I'll send you that template. I'll update it in the description also soon.
