    Hey thanks for this video, I have been trying to find information about this unit to be sure it had zigbee inside.
    I truly appreciate you sharing this information as often other reviewers are leaving out this important information about the device.
    I'm in the process of making my home animated and this was helpful

    Please can you help me? I really want to buy this but I’m disabled and bedridden so can’t get to a store to test it - I need to know, the main reason I want to purchase it is for the idle clock face, ‘Stellar’ under ‘Classic’. Does this device the Echo Show 10, 2nd Gen have that clock face in the home and clock options when it’s idle?

    Hey man, very good video! thumb up :) keep going!
    I've a question about the zigbee version. Does this Echo Show work with Zigbee-Version 3.0?
    all the best for you all in these times.

      Amazon doesn't specify what Zigbee version it uses, but given that Zigbee 3.0 has been around since 2015, and this product came out in 2018, I assume it uses 3.0.

    Good video. Too bad they are out of stock until January.
    What brands of lightbulbs do you recommend?

    • @TheTechBuyersGuru
      @TheTechBuyersGuru  4 года назад

      Yeah, these sold out entirely during the Black Friday bonanza. Sold out at other stores too (like Best Buy). In terms of the bulbs I recommend, I've used nearly every brand (Cree, GE, Sylvania, EcoSmart, Commercial Electric, etc.), and I've found that the best by far are Sylvania in terms of ease of setup and reliability of the connection. Here is a link to their basic 2700K Zigbee bulb: amzn.to/2POwOvX. They also have adjustable white (amzn.to/2EmykjF) and full RGB versions (amzn.to/38LVQVa), and of course they have BR30 (amzn.to/2YVl8f6) and downlight models (amzn.to/2RTdQqC) as well.

    Great video... I'm going to connect nearly everything in my home that's worth connecting very soon.
    Have you by any chance seen an app/skill for Echo Show that could graphically depict your smart devices and use the touchscreen to turn on/off?

    • @TheTechBuyersGuru
      @TheTechBuyersGuru  4 года назад

      Actually, by default, if you give a voice command to the Echo Show to turn on or off a light, it will display a sliding scale where you can use your finger to adjust it manually. So if I say "turn on kitchen lights", I can then fine-tune it by sliding it to the position I want it. There may be an app that lets you call up a whole set of lights on the screen at once, but I haven't looked. It's certainly something that would be possible to create.

      @@TheTechBuyersGuru.. Thanks, I have a couple Echo Dots and planning to get an Echo Show next week so just now starting to search. I just ran across a how-to for creating skills while searching for a skill to graphically display lights, etc.
      You answered one of major questions - groups - in your video.

    I have the echo show I need bulbs do I need a hub or is it built-in thank you

    • @TheTechBuyersGuru
      @TheTechBuyersGuru  4 года назад

      It depends which Echo Show model you have. If you have the 2nd generation Echo Show 10" version shown in this video (this one: amzn.to/2MuO3RO), it does have the hub built in. The first generation 8" model did not have a hub built in, nor does the current 8" version.
      The Echo Show 10" has a Zigbee hub, so you would want to use Zigbee-compatible light bulbs. This is the Sylvania model I recommend: amzn.to/3gRJuPl. You can control both the brightness and the color temperature. The bulbs currently being promoted the most are multi-colored bulbs (like this: amzn.to/3dz4zvJ), but I don't think those are worth the extra cost for most people.

    Enjoyed your video but you never show how to make phone calls........That is why I bought the product but they don't give you any information........The search go on........

    • @TheTechBuyersGuru
      @TheTechBuyersGuru  4 года назад

      Oh, it's not too hard. You simply use the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone to add contacts via their phone numbers, and it will look those people up by that phone number to find their Amazon accounts. You can then make phone calls either to their phone directly or their Alexa device, including through their Alexa app, which allows video chat unlike the direct phone dialing.

    Maybe in the future, mute the word "Alexa" in your editing. My Echo was going crazy since you say Alexa like 100 times in the video :-)
