  • Dealing with Offensive People with Patience | Isha Khatirah | Sh. Yaser Birjas
    Hadith No: 42
Ibn Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
After the battle of Hunain, Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) favoured some people in the distribution of spoils (for consolation). He gave Al-Aqra' bin Habis and 'Uyainah bin Hisn a hundred camels each and showed favour also to some more honourable persons among the Arabs. Someone said: ""This division is not based on justice and it was not intended to win the Pleasure of Allah."" I said to myself: ""By Allah! I will inform Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) of this."" I went to him and informed him. His face became red and he said, ""Who will do justice if Allah and His Messenger do not?"" Then he said, ""May Allah have mercy on (Prophet) Musa (Moses); he was caused more distress than this but he remained patient."" Having heard this I said to myself: ""I shall never convey anything of this kind to him in future".
    [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]."

What about your own mother, who is constantly offensive??? I am an adult not 20's etc, but in my 40's now and still. Other ppl have witnessed it and asked me how do I deal with it. My limit has been reached...

I have the same problem I’m not sure if it’s more or else than yours but… what I do is before engaging in any conversation with her or being in her a company for a while is I make 2 rakats and repeat Astaghfirallah 100times. Then make Dua for peace over anger.
Then I read a story in the taleem about retaining your anger I’ll summarise the story for you

So there was a person who accidentally dropped something, excuse me paraphrasing. And that accident killed someone’s infant baby I forgot the people’s names but the person forgave that person immediately because he was reminded of this verse
      Surah Al-Imran (3:134):
"Those who spend [in Allah's cause] in prosperity and in adversity, who restrain their anger, and who pardon the people - and Allah loves the doers of good."
      😓

@@Mr-Hendrick Thanks for sharing, I have tried reciting Astagfirullah but it doesn't matter to her. There is no filter on her behalf... I hope the scholars address this type of behavior for those of us that have to put up with it. I'm at my end with being able to have any sorts of patience.

@@BlueSky78683 I don’t understand, what do you mean "it doesn’t matter to her” ?… 😄you say astaghfirullah for yourself right ? Like for your heart to be able to put up with her. And read the two rakats secretly ? Without her knowing ?
