hi im still failed at the 26:48 (Job for ypbind.service failed ). what do you mean by removing the ip address in securenets will solve the ypbind issue.. please help

i am a teacher we have 40 computers i3 and core to duo , we have ibm server 3200x. I want to configure client client server system . Like student can login from any computers and get authorised from servaerand get his file on any computer . something like NIS NFS . Pls suggest which debian client server shall i use. I tried with ubuntu desktop 22.04 but it hangs a lot . Thank you

Your server is not installed GUI then you can't run gui. try below command to find required packges.
yum whatprovides authconfig-gtk
hi thank you for your tutorials, your tutorials are very specific. While configuring nis client, I got the following error.
[root@nisclient /]# yum -y install ypbind yp-tools authconfig-gtk
Loaded plugins: product-id, subscription-manager
This system is not registered to Red Hat Subscription Management. You can use subscription-manager to register.
There are no enabled repos.
Run "yum repolist all" to see the repos you have.
You can enable repos with yum-config-manager --enable
[root@nisclient /]# mount /dev/sr0 /mnt
mount: no medium found on /dev/sr0
can you please help me in telling what repos need to be installed to configure nis client. Also if you suggest any link that would be helpful. Thank You
you need to attach ISO file to your VM first them mount command will work.

First thing what is your environment scale. Is there any applications you want integrate. IPA server installation and configuration is already published in same channel.

@@TechArkit actually i tried it, everything is cool until I reach the last steps on the client side and they told me that I can't communicate with the ypbind

Hi sir, can you please tell me how to configure nis client and server on a single machine?
There is no use if you configure Client and server in same server. It does not work since NIS uses passwd file as NIS user database.
Why would you ever want the client and the server to exist on the same machine? I guess you could spin up two VMs, but having the client and server on the same machine instance would not make sense to do.

Network Information System where it share the passwd database across multiple servers in secure manner to created centralized authentication mechanism.
I saw lots of video of your , but found in each video your hiding some steps. Try to cut previous and showing forward step.
Viewer try with your steps and he won't execute successfully , as you are showing on your screen.
I cant understand why you are wasting time of people.
If you want only to share your knowledge in paid videos then only provide paid videos.
There is no such a cut in my videos, its all just uploaded as recorded. there might be a video speed increased in particular clips to avoid lag. i would say its 100% working and practical i upload.

On 26:30 ypbind service got failed ; we have check service status using systemctl in that I can see selinux was enable and process 3535 up and running
but On 26:51 you restarted serice and yp bind get up , also in service status selinux was disable , I can see process 3595 failed .
In between this mentioned time intervals , you havent change any thing, How it is possible to service get up in just restart without changes.
And you are saying u did practical , Your knowledge is outstanding but you are cutting clips for making paid viewers for your paid course
