This was a great example of fixing a problem. I had a similar example on an old steel gate much heavier than yours but galvanized. I almost brought out the welder but was afraid to try due to thin metal and galvanized metal. And I am a novice welder. I decided on a carriage bolt and through bolt the hinge pin. Fixing the gate took an hour and saved $150.
But your video made me think ...maybe I should have welded that and learned on a relatively unimportant project.
Thanks for watching, yeah I figured if I messed up the gate I wouldn’t be hurting it anymore than it already was, it was a great learning experience.
