I tried to see how fast i could do it :P i think i can do it faster than 5 hours :p didn't finish it because i didn't have the time to do it :P summer holidays
***** well, i did well on the 4 first level, until i reached gobis valley, because then you have to do a choice - either go to gobis valley, get the shoes and finish freezezy peak in one row, or go to freezezy peak, get the fly-missile move and go finish gobis valley in a row. between these worlds i spent over 30 minutes on each world because i did not plan it enough, lots of time went by! I did the first level in 8minutes or so, treasure trove cove in 13 minutes i think, but the later levels really took time, it needs planning :P
True, and also i missed one freakin note on gobis valley. and man did i get furious :P i think on a good day with a lot of planning i will do it under 4 hours maybe! and i need to survive and not die once :P
This game was a huge part of my childhood. Looking back on it, I probably didn't even play it that much, because I was too young (I watched my brother play it), but since it's associated with such a happy time (my childhood) I get nostalgic when I think about it.
this and banjo tooie are to me the greatest games i ever played on the n64, such great atmosphere, music, graphics were awesome at the time, and i always loved playing them, but I'm sure everyone else here loves banjo and kazooie as well! :D
i just got back from work... got nothin to do.. played this entire game several times when i was a kid. and now, i will watch the entire video.. to remind me of kick ass memories.. fuck yeah
ah memories spent about 28 hours just at spiral mountain and you beat this in about 2 and a half hours i sure was easily entertained when i played this way back when
1:46:05 end of Rusty Bucket Bay 1:49:07 - Start of Click Clock Wood HIGHLIGHTS: 1:49:40 - 1:50:04 2:09:30 end of Click Clock Wood 2:10:15 - start of furnace fun 2:21:42 - The Final Battle Gruntilda's Lair highlights: 50:07- 50:18, 1:33:38 , 1:46:52 - 1:47:10
Having played this in my childhood, I remember how hard it was to get perfect scores especially in RBB and CCW. Some of the jumps and things this TAS does scares the crap out of me just watching it!
I remember when i was little, i asked my mom for this game, and she said i'm too young for it. About 8 years later, I found this game again and bought it. I missed out.
I wish I could play Banjo-Kazooie again... My N64 is long-gone, and I do not own an Xbox 360, so I'm currently stuck. By the way, this video was VERY entertaining and funny! It's a miracle Banjo and Kazooie didn't die from heart attacks. :P
This game is amazing. nostalgia hit me right in the face watching this.I was so bad at the haunted mansion stage I always had to get my mom to do it for me lol. But I absolutely loved the last level. My favorite -3
The description says it's not supposed to show skill but is just for entertainment but...WOW! I've played my file for about 12 hours and still haven't beaten it. Holy cow! :D
I never got into games. As a child I loved to play outside and read. UNTIL my mom got me an N64 and Banjo Kazooie. NOTHING will ever come close or beat this game in my mind!
jacoby6000 You can tell when he gets hurt on purpose. But in Rusty Bucket Bay, when he was in the room with the Gremlin and the Monster in the wall with the Jiggy above it, I'm sure he could've wiggled his way around getting hit. But it doesn't really matter. He still won.
+NocturnalPasta No, i am pretty sure that was the fastest way to get it. And no, in a TAS theres no mistakes, there's no "goofing up" here. But there's a run done by human about 3 minutes faster than this, because this run is obsoleted and there's new strats this run didnt use.
The inputs for this run was recorded with an emulator. You use several tools to make a perfect run. Main tools are Frame Advance and Save States. Frame Advance a way to choose what input you want for each and every frame in the run. Save States is to fix mistakes, testing different routes etc. The idea of a TAS is to see how fast a game can be beaten when everything you do is perfect. Doable in theory on console, but no human will ever be able to do it.
The tools are Frame Advance (Playing frame by frame) and Save States. There are other helpful tools for TASing, but those two are the main ones. The console WR is however faster than this run right now. You can watch the run here if interested: watch?v=6bo_wFP9vtE
I completely agree with that statement, but it was so worth it though *-* I still come back to the game from time to time and play it through, it's just as good each time. :3
This guy has mad skills to be doing this and great speed keeping tecniques.
Yeah I know right? It's fanTAStick
Tool assisted
I know...
This is the first TAS I have ever watched. Pretty cool, it is amazing.

The best Speedrun I've ever watched. This guy apparently has brilliant tecniques and good memories that can surprise anybody who watches this video...
I believe you need to know what a Tool Assisted Speedrun is though. So that you don't get the wrong idea.
Bien como lo ases eres buenisimo en este juego el mejor que he visto
katia the hegdewof arriba arriba muchachos
watching you play this brings back so many good memories :)
that death around 1:33:50
My god, your amount of sheer knowledge of this game boggles my mind.
I do have a friend who can 100% this game on the N64 in 5 hours. ._.;
No TAS, just him being awesome. o.0;
I tried to see how fast i could do it :P i think i can do it faster than 5 hours :p didn't finish it because i didn't have the time to do it :P summer holidays
The WR NON TAS like 2:38.52 or something. My PB is 3:27.34
That's not that good my PB is 2:48:39 and WR is 2:11:13

0:51:06 WHAT THE HELL?!
What? All he did was glitch it.
That's not a glitch. The Jiggy collider is just showing out of the sarcophagus.
All you gotta do is touch it

This game is a part of my childhood. Great job man !!

man i hope they make a TAS Banjo Tooie,. that would be so cool to see. But this one taught me so many cool tricks for my speedrun, amazing video!
I remember when I was young and played that Game. Ahh the Memories. Thank you for uploading the Video. :)
I just got blasted with a wave of nostalgia. The memories...
I actually messaged my mom when i started watching this, we use to play this all the time when I was younger, childhood right here :')
I had nothing better to do since I was sick, so I decided to watch it.
Perfect way to waste time.

you're a tremendous player!!!
you trained a lot of hours to pick this level of gaming
ah memories spent about 28 hours just at spiral mountain and you beat this in about 2 and a half hours i sure was easily entertained when i played this way back when
This game takes me waaaaaayyy back... sometime in the late 90's. :)
The battle against Gruntilda seems Epic, great game I will never forget.
This is my childhood right here. Excellent game!
at least this doesn't ruin my childhood as much as the zelda oot speed run.. this is respectable
30:45

Oh, wow... that's some crazy dedication. The finished products are always amazing to watch, though.

omg, i LOVED this game. thank you so much
If you guys have TRUly played this game, you'd know that the most impressive part is from 1:42:47 - 1:43:42. Amazing TAS! 5/5 and favorited :)
This game is amazing. nostalgia hit me right in the face watching this.I was so bad at the haunted mansion stage I always had to get my mom to do it for me lol. But I absolutely loved the last level. My favorite -3
I gave you a +like just for the description. Really nice video!
God I miss this game. I would play this for hours when I was a little kid.
It took me longer to finish rusty bucket bay the 1st time than it did to watch this... Those 4 music notes haunt me...
This motivated me to play again, after 12 years Ive completed this 2 more times xD
I don't know what is sadder. This speed run or me watching the whole thing.
That moment when you realize the actual world record is faster than the TAS.
Man this really is like a movie. At least the crazy old hag was nice enough to make the enemies not attack you while doing the puzzle dance.
Love the "pictures" at the end.
Beautiful play
it's crazy how much of this he plays with one honeycomb piece left
One of the best games of my childhood :)

I Love How The Witch Puts All Her Words In A Rhymes.
The quiz show has to be the hardest part of speed running this game. No way I could do it that fast.
This game was my life back in the day
mestre !!
vício do caralhoo!!
The crocodile eating contest was possibly the funniest thing ever
treasure trove cove has appeared in my dreams many a time
Level 1: Mubo's mountain
Level 2: Treasure trove cove (or whatever)
Level 3: Clanker's caven
Level 4: Bubble gloop swamp
Level 5: Freezy peak
Level 6: Gobi's valley
Level 7: Mad monster mansion
Level 8: Rusty bucket bay
Level 9: Click clock wood
Level 10: The semi final
Level 11: Final boss
How are the jumps so perfect ? Like perfectly calculated and everything damn amazing job !
DevaNickolson He goofs up a few times, but the jumps are pretty easy to make.
+DevaNickolson It's also a Tool Assisted Speedrun (TAS). So it's not all human, if at all.
+NocturnalPasta Where he "goofs up" he's likely seeding the RNG to behave a certain way, or delaying so enemies are in a certain position.
jacoby6000 You can tell when he gets hurt on purpose. But in Rusty Bucket Bay, when he was in the room with the Gremlin and the Monster in the wall with the Jiggy above it, I'm sure he could've wiggled his way around getting hit. But it doesn't really matter. He still won.

Anyone else getting teary eyed watching this?
loved this movie, very entertaining, crazy skills :)
I love it how he grabbed his first honey in level 4
thease vids are nice when everyone is trying to fight
man this game brings back a lot of memories for me. nostalgia gasm. ohhhhhhOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. done.
click clock wood will ever be the best part of banjo kazooie :3 ♥
Game: "Banjo we need you to-"
Banjo: "I GOT THIS!" *blasts through everything*
And here I was feeling proud of myself for 100%-ing the game in less than 10 hours...
The clever bastard did it at an angle instead of going completely straight.
Speedrunning this game should be an Olympic sport. The UK would win every time
I remember playing this game as a child, and being scared to death of the witch. WOW. Talk about reminiscing...
My mom was really good at this game she beat it twice! memories! and I'm 11 and I still remember this game!!
best charactor ever
mumbo-jumbo
2 hours, 39 minutes, and 6 seconds of, “AHOO... WOOO... A WEEEEE!!!!”
game from my childhood
i love this game

Holy Feffing hell....I thought I was good at this game...YOU ARE GAWD!
Man I loved playing every second of this game. GUUHA!
The tools are Frame Advance (Playing frame by frame) and Save States. There are other helpful tools for TASing, but those two are the main ones.
The console WR is however faster than this run right now. You can watch the run here if interested: watch?v=6bo_wFP9vtE
THE BEST GAME OF MY CHILDHOOD
I remember this game is so nostalgic about to cry
My childhood was the best !
I always keep telling myself all of the parts that slowed me down will slow you down. Then you prove me completely wrong. XD
I keep watching this.. it`s awesome! ;)
TAS videos involve more than frame-by-frame gameplay. There are save-states and quickloading. He saves, listens to the song, then reloads and answers.
What's so funny is that you got and left the room with the last honeycomb piece so fast, you never got the last extra health bar.
Miss the old days :)
>goes off the track to collect a jiggy, a jinjo and a bunch of notes
>still wins against boggy
You sir are a boss.
TAS=Top asian standart
YOU'VE PUMPED ME TO PLAY THIS GAME AGAIN!!!!
I completely agree with that statement, but it was so worth it though *-*
I still come back to the game from time to time and play it through, it's just as good each time. :3
Oh my goodness!! Sami actually died in the loading zone at 1:33:52 thereby resetting his life bar for the upcoming hell that is Rusty Bucket Bay.
There is some serious swag between 10:23 and 10:35
I also highly recommend just playing it again! :-)
he went so fast, i was worried the game wouldnt be able to take it.
