I found my great grandad’s diaries from his time in WW1. My favorite quote from them was when he said “I’m gonna final stand this shit” then went 7 for 7 with his 1911.
@@williamhalsted4 its a reenactment to keep the history of the first world war alive. You can look at it as a “game” if you want but it has a purpose. Go to the Great War Association website to learn more about this event
@@sgt_sally The attention to detail is impressive. It looks like the guns are real and not airsoft. I understand the concept of reenactment, but wanted to know how this was done. Were actions scripted to match history, or was it a historical/roleplay "game" where you simulated combat, such as with airsoft, and let that drive how the reenactment unfolded?
@@williamhalsted4 the guns are all real. We use blank rounds. Also there is no script at all. We dont reenact a specific battle or reenact a specific scenario during the first world war. We simply reenact the first world war as a whole in late 1918 and whatever happens, happens and is not controlled on what actually goes on.
Really enjoy watching these WWI event vids, great footage

Ah yes the classic AEF walk out of the trench. You guys are completely visible in that first shell crater you always try to hide in.
Is that a real 1903, or is it airsoft?
Its a M1917 Enfield and yes its real.
Was this scripted, or an airsoft game where you acted out the results?
Neither. Its called reenacting.
@@sgt_sally So if it's not scripted, and not a game, can you explain how it works?
