I like how the earlier pranks were meant not to harm her that much before transitioning to more dangerous ones. It shows how his confidence with Alex being able to deal with them grew.
I feel like Steve likes Alex but doesn't know how to convey his feelings so he does what he does best and pranks her just to get out of awkward moments.
After seeing this video I think Steve was training her to survive after finding her in the first Alex past ep, so he basically thought of her as a friend at first but when time went by he started having a crush on her in the episode where Alex saved his life from monsters
@@screechingtoad2683 have you seen Steve and what he does. What about that even whispers maturity lol. I do like these twos relationships though and wether they get romantically involved or just stay friends I will still enjoy the series
After seeing all of the past videos now, I understand that Steve was driven mostly insane due to his loneliness. He would always entertain himself with his traps and pranks, since it was his only way of defending himself and favorite way of simply living. He tried to fill that void with his snow golem friend (Rest in piece), but couldn't derive any satisfaction from pranking them. So, he simply accepted their company until the end. Humans need companionship. It's in our nature. However, now that Steve's mind has been.. kinda borked to say the least; He's found that he can get massive amounts of entertainment from Alex. He doesn't treat her poorly aside from his traps (which were never made to kill if you look closely), and he does share at least some kind of friendship with her, some level of trust. If he didn't, then at the end of this video she would've just stabbed him without hesitation.
Alright, so: The fact that there's a cross with vines wrapped around it suggests that Steve once had a good friend, one that died a long time ago. When he finds Alex in her dilapidated state in the ravine, Steve is perhaps motivated to take the new player under his wing. Judging by the bandages, sewn up clothing, and consumed golden apple/health potion, Steve had been nursing Alex back to health for a while. However, immediately after Alex awakened Steve catapulted her into the sky, terrifying and perhaps traumatizing the girl he had gone to considerable lengths to save. The cruel and unwarranted pranks only increase in intensity from there on. This begs the question: why? Why is Steve so dead set on tormenting Alex to the point that she hates him? Well, my theory is that Steve's mystery friend died in a manner that was because of or relating to his actions. The guilt of losing his best (and probably only) friend would probably cause the psychopathic tendencies Steve commonly exhibits. Enter Alex, a potential friend/partner that could interrupt Steve's loneliness and self-apathy. Steve doesn't want a repeat of what happened to his friend, so he does two things: train Alex to be practically unkillable and keep her at arm's length. The cruel pranks are Steve's method of ensuing that Alex would see him as a rival or adversary, and thus would be continuously focused on surpassing him. With this method, Steve would both condition Alex to always be on high alert and ready to roll with the punches, but also viewing him as an obstacle to be overcome. This obsession with training up Alex takes up pretty much all of Steve's energy, as we see him constructing elaborate railroads, pitfall traps, and tnt cannons to torment Alex with. He devotes his life towards keeping the woman alive but refuses to connect with her on an emotional level, which leads to a violent and toxic relationship between the two. Steve is also unable to deal with his feelings towards Alex, which leads to him avoiding any attempts at intimacy with more bizzare pranks. All in all, Steve won't be able to form a bond with Alex unless he conquers his past trauma and fear of loss, and Alex won't be able to connect with Steve until she breaks through his outer shell and learns to trust him. Whew, didn't think I'd write a whole video essay on this. Anyways, that's my theory.
That actually sounds like a good theory because if he is a cruel person why is his pranks so normal at the first time they meet like Alex would have woken up and Steve would just release lava out of no where. I'm 100% the grave is important because it doesn't make sense putting something like that in the vid and also with the vine I think my theory is that Steve was just like Alex dumb and doesn't know what to do but a player found him and when that player tried to train him, that player found out he was weak so instead he tried a different solution like redstone machinery to help him survive on his own.
See rewatching these knowing what Steve went through and how unhinged he may be really shows - This is how he communicates - he always found laughter in these pranks always wanted to enjoy them with someone and with Alex it's no different the only difference is that he now lives a life of playing/ training her to stay alive cause he lost one friend already and he may not know how to convey it correctly but he cares about Alex and doesn't want her to disappear
steve is absolutely the embodiment of 'WELCOME TO MINECRAFT, NERD!' but from seeing other animations from the past, it feels like every day ( as far as we can tell,) steve tests alex in some way to keep her wits sharp despite knowing fully that he'll frequently get his face smashed into the floor by an angry alex
I'm pretty sure Steve is doing all these so that Alex doesn't end up like his first friend there, judging from the vines wrapped around the marker, it could have been a long time since they passed. It could have been the person that taught Steve everything he knew, or someone he failed to protect in the past. Any which way, can't wait for the next part 😁
That's a lot of character development for one episode. The pranks straight up turned her into a professional. Also smooth animation. Keep up the good work.
"Not meant to harm her, but to train her"? My dude, he blew up her house, rigged her own chests to fire arrows at her, and launched more arrows and TNT at her when she chased him in the minecart. Those can all definitely harm you. That's not training, that's just being a dick. Nowhere in his maniacal cackling is there any hint of mentorship. If he was actually trying to train her, you'd expect to see a sparring session with wooden swords and leather armour or something, maybe she'd fall down and he'd offer her a hand to pull her back onto her feet, flashing a friendly smile. But nope.
He's not that kind of mentor, he doesn't particularly use swords, as it is evident, he is more of a Redstone engineer. He can't fight for crap (clearly seen in other videos) so training her with wooden swords is out of the question. He's a socially anxious person, thus this being his best way to "train her".
@@Randoman590 ok I shouldn’t have said harm but kill. When we first see Alex she nearly got herself killed. But after living with Steve for a while she learned how to properly defend herself against these traps and eventually mobs. It’s kinda like tanjiro’s training with urodaki, the guy had him go through deadly traps daily before he could wield a sword. But it heightened his senses and reflexes allowing him to survive final selection.
@@stickthelanding4785 Sure, maybe this is how Alex got to where she is now, but again, I don't think for a second that training her was Steve's motivation for all this. I think that's just an unintended side effect of him taking his "jokes" and "pranks" way, WAY too far.
It did made sense since first the prank was just her being levitated above the ground, he could have started with lava or TNT but nope just a sticky piston levitating her above the ground and also when you notice that the fireworks and the arrows prank, showing he was trying to train her to avoid individual projectiles and at the last scene you can see her cut through everything and having great acrobatics and stamina to catch up to a fast minecart.
Theory: Steve spawned into this world and basically did the whole survival thing for a while. Despite having no talent for fighting he had a great talent for redstone and building contraptions. At one point, he met a friend who enjoyed destroying stuff and messing with people, and together they formed a group of griefers. They'd go around causing destruction and making pranks, which lead steve becoming good at making traps. It was really fun at first and they never did anything too dangerous or harmful; however, they started taking more risks and did more dangerous things, until eventually they bit off more than they could chew and Steve's friend bit the dust. Steve was striken with guilt and grief and stopped doing tricks for a while. So, after being alone all those years, with Alex showing up, Steve opened his bag of tricks again to both have a little fun, and make sure that alex was tough enough to not end up like his friend
I'd like to think the pranks started off as trying to train her to overcome the challenges of survival so she could eventually live without his help. He started with fall damage (with golden apple overheal and a bed to break the fall) and moved onto arrows and explosives. You see her equipment become better and her reflexes sharper. He becomes attached to her but the only interaction he's used to with her is pranks so he can't express how he feels normally. Or he's just immature... Eh, I prefer my head-canon.
i'd say steve's personality is an ENTP, which if you don't know is the troll who is actually smart and if you want more information about personalities look it up
I was surprised he started pranking her from the day they met, but loved that they ended up being the training that helped her transition from a timid noob to the badass we've seen in these vids.
Sure, even if that training was completely unintentional on Steve's part. I'm hoping in the next video he gets completely destroyed by her as retribution for the latest prank and has a moment of realisation like "oh dear God I've made a monster. Maybe I took this whole thing a little too far..."
@@Randoman590 To be fair these past couple vids are more like flashback since they've already done tons of other things together. Like when she made him a cake and stepped into his security system for the mobs.
Considering Alex nearly died from one slip and Steve lost his only friend due to something as simple as rain, I can agree to those who say while not exactly nice he was training Alex to survive (in hindsight the iron and diamonds as well as the trunk with arrow dispensers can be seen as a “trust nothing” lesson)
I think he trained her with prans to not have them end up as his other friend or pet... BUT at the same time he is damn well enjoying himself with all of this.
*STEVE is actually teaching ALEX not to trust players, and this my friend is a fact* *they'll betray you eventually, or prank you, this is something STEVE is amused of doing, pranking and training ALEX to be more efficient in PVP and also in mobility* *some players are so GOOD at PVP but not as good as ALEX, she went through an entire anime training arc* *AND IS USING EVERY PLAYER TRAP AVAILABLE ON MINECRAFT TO MAKE SURE ALEX DOES NOT FALL FOR THEM* *Alex may not understand this but Steve is actually a good person, just that his teachings are a bit...chaotic*

So, at first I was like, "I thought that this was gonna be a super sweet video about Steve helping Alex recover from almost basically dying in a world where she has no idea where she is." But then all the pranks were happening and I was like, "Uh, this is not sweet. And Steve is kind of a jerk." But, after seeing everyone else look at it from the point of view where Steve is just training her, I can begin to understand why this episode turned out like that. So, with all that being said, my fan theory is that Steve's old friend is Herobrine. Maybe he had a different name before he died, but my guess is that Steve and Herobrine were friends and then Herobrine died and Steve couldn't save him. And SOMEHOW that's gonna come back later, and Herobrine is gonna show up later in this series. Either as his classic antagonist role, or as more of a mystery figure, who can say?
Maybe he’s trying to desensitize her to survival and training her… or just having his fun which is unexpectedly training her, perhaps even both, and I wonder if that cross thing is real… Also, we *NEED* to see Steve’s backstory, is he just… like that, or was he different before…
Gotta be real here, even though we know Steve's a MASSIVE troller. A part of me is now feeling that most of his pranking is his own way of training up Alex to survive in Minecraft. As we see her go from barely able to survive his traps, to her pretty much reacting instantly to all the shit he does. Albeit with some mess ups, since our boy keeps mixing things up to keep it fresh.
Steve is the prankster because he cant express himself very well but this makes alex more stronger and stronger which is why she is more capable than steve in this series.
and thus started alex's brutal training to survive anything that may come in her path in this world, she may not realize it, but this is steve's way of caring for her
Steve’s training Alex by “pranking” her, so that she develops better reflexes and instincts! He doesn’t want what happened to his previous partner to her as well!

To be fair to Alyx, this is basically what I remember being introduced to minecraft being like back in 2012.
I feel her pain.
TI ADORO E ANCHE I TUI VIDIO
Seeing Steve's past before Alex series makes everything painful for my heart ;-;
Maybe he’s trying to desensitize her to survival and training her… or just having his fun which is unexpectedly training her, perhaps even both, and I wonder if that cross thing is real…
Also, we *NEED* to see Steve’s backstory, is he just… like that, or was he different before…
Steve really likes pulling pranks but this sure was interesting to watch and merry Christmas silpaeja
I like how she
changes her
Jugar Minecraft con amigos be like:
그래...스티브가 이렇게 착할리가...
Finally the second part
Could you make Steve have blue eyes pls? :33. Love from Germany 🇩🇪
Now coming back with the knowledge that Steve has basically gone fucking nuts since he's been relatively alone this whole time. I get his mania now.
Steve woke up and chose violence... like every other day 😭✋
YESSS A NEW EP! I love your work!
With all the mechanisms that Steve puts on Alex it makes me that he is training him for something.
Seems like the physical rehabilitation went well!
I been Whating for this for so Long it's finally here😆
Steve has a weird way of showing affection to Alex 😂
Happy new year silpaeja 🎉🎉 have a good time and say hello thanks for your videos
postscript: I got this from the translator xD
Alex : 😱 Steve:🤣
Merry Christmas 🎄
and that’s how she became a badass. because of him 😂
Alex Look so pretty
Someone took Woody the Woodpecker's lifestyle to heart~
steve is a maniac, he is so funny and he looks like a child
0:14 hayato
Steve is the prankster because he cant express himself very well but this makes alex more stronger and stronger which is why she is more capable than steve in this series.
Talk about an intense training arc. Steve better sleep with one eye open with how strong Alex is now.
Valió la pena la espera. Esperaré la próxima parte!
Merry Christmas
and thus started alex's brutal training to survive anything that may come in her path in this world, she may not realize it, but this is steve's way of caring for her
I very want to help Alex survive in minecraft(with this Steve...)! :(👍
Steve’s training Alex by “pranking” her, so that she develops better reflexes and instincts! He doesn’t want what happened to his previous partner to her as well!
@user-ch3rc9ez2cDEEZ NUTS
Bruh few seconds in and T H I C C
