Thank you! I loved playing this game at hostels in Ukraine, but I forgot how to play it, especially without Ukrainian vodka. This informative video helps me play this in the USA all the time and my American friends love it!
Hi, I'm from Russia. We don't do transfering cards, I heard of that rule but it's uncommon. Card games Durak(rus: Дурак - Fool), Kozel (rus: Козёл - Goat), Bura Кozel (rus: Бур Козёл, type of Bura card game) and P'yanitsa (rus: Пьяница - Drunkard) are the most popular card games in Russia. I played them mostly when I was a kid 10-15 years ago. All of these games are played in student dorms and rarely when friends hang out at smb's house, on the beach or in a local yard. Durak is the most popular card game among all Russians, Kozel is mostly played by men. P'yanitsa is for kids I think.
Hert Niks, so then Passing Durak (Perevodnoy Durak/Переводной Дурак), with transfers, is the most popular variation of Durak game in Estonia. In Russia we play mostly Durak without transfers, it's called Trow-in Durak (Podkidnoy Durak/Подкидной Дурак). Sometimes we call it simply Podkidnoy. Thanks for sharing, if I'm in Estonia I'll play Passing Durak with someone for sure))))
Just got Durak (not Super Durak) for my iPhone and I've lost every time. Glad to see I'm not the only one who looses. But you had strategies I wasn't aware of, so I hope this helps. me. Thanks!
It's just called "Durak" and it is made by Lost Token Software (that should help narrow it down for you, I think.) Icon is wood with a golden joker hat thing.
Nice video, I have a question. Let's say there are 3 players, A, B and C. A goes to B, but B transfers to C and is now attacking C. C defends and the round is over. In this case, who is considered the attacker of that last round and draws cards first from the draw pile? Is it the original attacker A, or the new/last attacker of the round B? Thanks.
Thank you very much for the explanation. So to make it clear, player A is the original attacker and draws, then player B who passed the cards, and player C draws last because he became the last defender? Player C is the attacker in next round (if he beat successfully)? What if the Defender Player C took the cards? who would be the new attacker? Also, in a 2 player game, let's say player A attacks player B, but player B transfers cards back to player A to defend. Player A now defends the cards. Who would pick up cards first in this instance? Whose turn would it be next. Thank you! @@demonish2406
i have a question for you too: if the attacker throws down their very last card and you can transfer it, is the transfer void because they have no cards to defend? or do they HAVE to pick up both?
Anthony Falcon So, at first the attacker already wins when he puts down his last card, but the defender cant reverse because anyway cuz the attacker hasnt got enough cards on his hand (actually zero) I hope you understand me and my english is not too bad
Anthony Falcon No. If your opponent has played his last card, he won and you cannot transfer it anymore. Neither can you transfer when there are more attacking cards on the table than your opponent has on hand. I personally like to play this game without transferring. its a lot harder and you need to think a lot more. You should try it out.
Also another question, let's say you're playing transfer durak. Player A goes with a 10 clubs to player B. Player B has a 10 hearts (which is a trump). Does he have a choice of transferring the cards or beating it, or he must only do one?
I might be kinda late, but yes, you have choice Also in some games there are rule there you can just show your trump card to transfer opponent card (you're not gonna loose your trump, but you can't do it again with this card) For example if opponent attacked with non trump 8 and you have trump 8, then you can show it and now your opponent must defend against it. But if later in the game you will be attacked again by 8, you can't transfer it like that
Anthony Falcon Like I said in the other comment I wrote to you. By reversing the attack, he would have to lay down a second jack. He cannot reverse the attack, because his opponent only had one card on his hand left. You can only play as many cards, as your opponent has on his hand.
+King Prymada that's probably because we say "davay v duraka" meaning "let's play durak", literal translation - "let's in durak", nouns following a preposition often change endings in Russian, hence the a at the end. calling the game itself "duraka" sounds slightly ridiculous ;)

😅
I watched other videos and found them super confusing but yours was straight to the point and super well explained, thanks!
Thanks for explaining the attack deflection rule, I wasn't sure how that worked since every example I've seen has been with more than 2 players
Still making the rounds - need practice and looking forward to card game time!

Pavel Afonin I am from Estonia and we always play with transfers. Have done so for the past 30 years that I can remember.

what is the app of Durak called that you are using?

First draws the orginal attacker and last is who defends. Defender is the attacker in next round if he didn't take cards.

@@ltpotential Defender always draws last in every situation. If defender A doesn't defend then next one to go is B cause A skips his turn.

Anthony Falcon you lose you cant transfer
If you transfer a card, does the defender have to play on all cards?

@1:05 how come the club of 6 was played rather than the lowest trump suit?
You don't you don't have to play that card, it just indicates who goes first
I love this hat
this is a cool game
Great video! :-)
thanks!! u are great
Thanks ,but I still keep losing this
That's like meow meow
Thanks!
at 6:48, why doesn't it let you use your jacks to reverse his jack? is that because it's a trump?
Well.. i dont know too, (when I play this game you can reverse it) but i suppose its because its a trump. Or its a mistake in the game
Anthony Falcon Like I said in the other comment I wrote to you. By reversing the attack, he would have to lay down a second jack. He cannot reverse the attack, because his opponent only had one card on his hand left. You can only play as many cards, as your opponent has on his hand.

+King Prymada any stratigy in this game?
+MrBelomor keep trumps for later too. count cards :)
