I purchased a JD E210 lc Excavator here in New Zealand last year (2022). I saw one on your channel this year(2023) at Con Expo the only difference was that the E210 at con Ex had a "P" designation. At that time it was not available in the USA. The advice I give is to avoid these Excavators like the plague when they are released into the US market and here is why. #1 Controlability : try trimming or finishing work with loose soil.#2 lifting work: try to pickup a heavy culvert pipe, carry it and place it in one movment you will soon discover how primitive the hydraulic system is on the E210 lc.Basic smooth travel is a big challange huge resistance comes back at you from the travel pedals. The E210 I have has thrown engine oil out of the breather since it was new. It also has a engine mis-fire that results in puffs of smoke all day long. Sadly neither Agrow quip the old dealers or Brandt the new dealers ( as of march 2023) have been truly interested in fixing any of the problems. So I say again avoid J D E210 lc Excavators like the Plague Deere and company have tried to go it alone but have failed.

John Deere field technician here. from what all of the people in Davenport have told me, the screen in the current series of excavators remains the classic Hitachi display. They are waiting to roll out the entirely JD made display and Sealed Switch Module layout displayed at Conexpo for the entirely JD deigned 360 excavator which is being tested and improved upon currently. I have seen a reduced tail swing excavator come through with the new display and SSM at the shop however, I'd say over the next 2-3 year customers can expect the old Hitachi display to be a thing of the past. JD is still using a lot of the Hitachi electronics currently as they integrate with the Hitachi hydraulics still currently being used in the excavator.

Hi Steve what you say would be correct for the current market in the USA. The new John Deere excavators we have in the NZ and AUS Market are totally different to the machines currently available in the USA. The components we have in the excavators here are different. The prototypes at con expo were the same as what we have here for sale.

By the way, heated and cooled seats isn't nothing new. I do believe we have had it for about 8-10 years here

wonder how John Deere will continue to upgrade their excavators without Hitachi?

With the history that company brings to the table I have no doubt they will do just fine without Hitachi.

From what I understand, Hitachi was the one who was holding Deere back from making upgrades to their excavators and had to go with Hitachi's pace. Now they can set their own pace, and immediately implement changes and upgrades, without having to funnel it down the line of Hitachi decision-makers.

We tried one. It had a smaller bucket than we have on two 350G's. We were NOT impressed. It is slow and underpowered. Nice looking machine but it doesn't feel like a 350.

Who realistically wants to go that slow in autos?

    • @DieselandIron

If you weren't in hard clay you could dig much faster. The auto's aren't really that much slower than a regular finish pull from an operator.
