Two members of the band are closely involved with DGD-related stuff outside of this band. Sergio (lead guitarist with the 'fro) is also the vice president of Blue Swan Records, which is named after its founder and president, Will Swan (lead guitarist, rap vocalist, and "Happiness" era scream vocalist of DGD). Will and Sergio were also in Sianvar, a swancore supergroup with the singer from Hail the Sun and the drummer from ALLB, and are currently in Royal Coda together, a supergroup that is basically Sianvar with Kurt Travis singing instead of Dominic from HtS. And Andrew (lead vocalist of Eidola) has been the touring and live session rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist for DGD since Instant Gratification, and has done some guitar tracking and vocal features in the 2 most recent DGD albums, singing in "Evaporate" from Artificial Selection, and "Nothing Shameful" in Afterburner. Also does Kurt's parts when they play "Uneasy Hearts" live.
I recommend the Temple trilogy, plus Trascendentium (Pt I and II) And also check Primitive Economics if you want to hear more unclean vocals This band is so diverse, the vocals by Andrew are top tier
These boys are one of the most criminally underrated bands around today. Their instrumentation is top shelf and the lyrics are quite thought-provoking and related to matters of spirituality, as you could see in the flashes of religious imagery throughout the music video. A unique and somewhat hidden gem of a band. I'd say just go through their albums sequentially like you have with DGD, but if you want some of the real bangers, here's a list of my personal faves Humble Ledger (Gnostic States) Traversing Through the House of Delphi Omega: Third Temple Tetelestai Loti Querents Transcendentium Pt. 1: Zoroastrian Happy listening! Glad to see you giving them a little more exposure on this new release. It's high time they stopped being an underground act.
Tetelestai and Humble Ledger are the next 2 tracks you should do on these guys! Also look into Royal Coda too if you want another great band with some DGD qualities to their sound. Will and Kurt are in that band together which is always great.
To Speak, To Listen is one of my favourite albums of all time (their previous album release), worth a full album reaction ;) For song suggestions, Transcendentium Pt.1 and Pt.2 would be a cool two-parter imo best showcasing their style, Dendrochronology and Tetelestai are both great catchy/melodic tracks for first listens, Sri Vishnu Yantra is my favourite track on the album. Now that's too many songs to recommend, and it's only one of the albums..... enjoy! Great reaction as usual
Yeah just to clarify, the band falls under the swancore category and I believe they're signed to will swans label as well (might need fact checking) but the main connection to DGD is that the lead singer Andrew is a touring member of DGD as well as helping write a few of their tracks and featuring on a few others
The lead singer, Andrew Wells, tours with DGD as guitarist and has been feautured in some songs.... Cant wait for you to check out "Evaporate" And the guitarist with the hair, Sergio Medina, is the VP of Blue Swan Records and is also in Royal Coda with Will Swan and Kurt Travis.
Eidola is definitely worth the listen if you're able to get around to more of their stuff, one of my favourite bands including DGD. also, the vocalist is Andrew Wells, the screamer is Matt Dommer !! (and on this upcoming album there's a Jon Mess feature) "The Abstract of a Planet in Resolve" is a banger and has plenty of screams in it too hehe (which also leads into Tetelstai seamlessly)
All of their songs have some serious emotional impact. Tetelestai and Primitive Economics have more screaming but honestly, Andrew Wells (clean vocals) gives Tilian a run for his money as one of the most IMPECCABLE voices in the genre.
Calling it a journey is spot on, friend. Kind of like Tantrum by A Lot Like Birds.. at no point do these songs lose the listeners interest, even with the length. A journey indeed
If you want a ton of uncleans, the song you want is "Primitive Economics". Other good songs are Tetelestai and the Temple Trilogy (Omni: First Temple, Contra: Second Temple, and Omega: Third Temple).
I believe it is "eye-dola" but I could be mistaken. Everyone will tell you how Andrew fits in to DGD, dude is incredible and a such a good guitar player as well. Genuinely the best compliment to Tilian's voice that I could imagine, so happy he is featured like once an album now. You should try Loti, Querents, or Contra: the Second Temple from them. All great picks!
The whole previous album is phenomenal, literally not a bad song. Degenerettera is also really good as well, Humble Ledger is the best track in my opinion.
Haha I love your reaction to the unclean vocals... I'm pretty sure it is Jon Mess. Nobody sounds quite like him. Also, I agree with the others saying you should check out Royal Coda and Sianvar. Both are great.
@@lf_murmur7685 Thanks for the correction. In my limited experience with Eidola, I don't think that Matt Dommer sounds like Jon Mess and I think that in this song the screamer sounds an awful lot like Jon Mess. But I'll admit that I haven't listened to Eidola enough and so I'm probably wrong.
i know this band, but not personal😜its like the band DANCE GAVIN DANCE. Especially the funky instrumentals🔥 and the guy sounds a little like Johnny Craig from Emarosa & Slaves PS: September new album from them!
At least react to their two newest albums.... Like seriously do their albums "To Speak; To Listen" & "Degeneraterra". You will be mad you haven't sooner.
Tetelestai, Loti, Humble Ledger, The Abstract Of a Planet In Resolve, Omni: First Temple ALL bangers. These guys and hail the sun make up for the fact that DGDs last 2 albums fell of for me. If youre looking for more stuff like this, Royal Coda, Cat Company, Stolas, Sianvar and Closure in Moscow are all great bands
Yeah man, Andrew Wells (vocalist) is amazing. He’s been touring with Dance Gavin Dance since right before Instant Gratification! He even has helped write some of the music and done backing vocals on the actual albums. He’s featured on the next DGD album 👌 Eidola does have some more of the mixed clean/unclean vocals, you just gotta look for it. Either way this is an amazing band. I’d definitely recommend “The Comfort We Find in Our Vices”. So much emotion!
Andrew Wells (the lead singer of Eidola), is featured on several dgd tracks, and is their touring guitar player.
Legitimately any song of theirs is a good choice. To Speak, To Listen is one of my favorite albums of all time

This right here!
I really think you need to hear "Tetelestai" by these guys. It's a must-listen imo
YESSS

Transcendentium Pt. 1: Zoroastrian
Happy listening! Glad to see you giving them a little more exposure on this new release. It's high time they stopped being an underground act.
It’s pronounced “Eye-dough-la”. I don’t blame you for getting it wrong, it took me a while to figure it out too lol.
Tetelestai and Humble Ledger are the next 2 tracks you should do on these guys!
Also look into Royal Coda too if you want another great band with some DGD qualities to their sound. Will and Kurt are in that band together which is always great.
big vouch
You still gotta check out Royal Coda as well brother. Kurt on vocals. Will and Sergio on guitars. Arrington (ALLB) on drums. Bliss

I loved this song since first listen, Andrew's voice is beautiful haha

My favorite band 😍😍😍😍😍
If you like those super slo mo songs give Loti a listen, That and Dendrochronology are my favourite tracks they've put out.
the first song in the Temple trilogy by them is incredible
These guys are amazing. I recommend their songs To Know Whats Real and Omega: Third Temple
Omega: Third Temple has one of the best buildups at the end I've ever heard. Amazing journey of a song. Fine taste, my guy
Calling it a journey is spot on, friend. Kind of like Tantrum by A Lot Like Birds.. at no point do these songs lose the listeners interest, even with the length. A journey indeed
O can't wait for you to hear the DGD tracks with Andrew. They're top tier.
Tetelestai is a really good song by these lads and even has a music video
Great reaction!

This band is amazing…if you want to hear more highs and screams, I’d recommend Primitive Economics, it’s such an amazing song.
HELL YEAH!!!! I woke up early so I would witness this song drop haha
Sri vinshu Yantra is a very deep song by them
They are so underrated, check out literally anything else!
To Speak, To Listen is a great album. My favorite track off it is The Familiar.
Shadowed By A Storm by Chasing Safety
You should do the discography series like you are with DGD!!!
The whole previous album is phenomenal, literally not a bad song. Degenerettera is also really good as well, Humble Ledger is the best track in my opinion.
Haha I love your reaction to the unclean vocals... I'm pretty sure it is Jon Mess. Nobody sounds quite like him.

screamer in Eidola is Matt Dommer ! ^^

@@vanbrewer5932 He does sound a bit like Jon in this song, but he's usually sonically distinct from him ahaha so no worries ^w^
i know this band, but not personal😜its like the band DANCE GAVIN DANCE. Especially the funky instrumentals🔥 and the guy sounds a little like Johnny Craig from Emarosa & Slaves
PS: September new album from them!
Sri Vishnu Yantra.
My girlfriend was like "that's Jon Mess, right? Right?!"
And I'm like.. It definitely sounds like him, not gonna lie.
Check out Loti by them! That song hits me hard
Loti just hits different
At least react to their two newest albums.... Like seriously do their albums "To Speak; To Listen" & "Degeneraterra". You will be mad you haven't sooner.
Some of their tracks are sorta interludey and short, so if you do album reactions I would suggest maybe doing a few together
Tetelestai, Loti, Humble Ledger, The Abstract Of a Planet In Resolve, Omni: First Temple ALL bangers. These guys and hail the sun make up for the fact that DGDs last 2 albums fell of for me.
