Paan Singh Tomar, his transition from a well behaved army jawaan to a dreaded dacoit was believable and wonderfully done. Even Maqbool was quite good

Roohdar from Haider. His art of moving narrative forward in a mysterious manner, a Shakespearian element, left me blank for most of his presence in that movie. I'm a sucker for good 'entry' scenes since that movie.

Babil reminds me of Irrfan so much.. his looks, mannerisms, voice , the way he speaks. He seems very mature and wise for his years. Hope he does well in life . He says he is an anxious person and he looks like a sweet , sensitive kid. I hope the eventual trolling and negativity won’t affect him.

Irrfan was truly god's angel. Born in a royal family yet competed with others to get into NSD. Passed in first attempt. Struggled for years. Internationally renowned actor. Did a film while battling cancer within. An acting institute & a humble human being with no arrogance whatsoever. Thank you Irrfan Sir.

The last movie I saw in theatre was Angrezi medium.. and I loved it so so much... cried a lot. On the day Irrfan passed away, I was in the middle of a zoom meeting, and instantly the his death notification flashed on my mobile screen. I just zoned out. Could not concentrate in the meeting. Don't know why tears started rolling down. I never even saw him in person.. But having watched all his interviews, I thought I knew him personally. Watching this interview was so overwhelming...I cried so many times.. Thankyou Anupama Chopra.

There cannot be another Irrfan. Yes, the loss felt so personal and this interview was a catharsis of sorts for people like me. I rewatch his movies be it Maqbool, Haasil, Piku, or Hindi Medium to relive his greatness. On odd days, even his old interviews work. Irrfan's legacy lives on through his body of work.

Why do we miss him like our own family?
He embodied his characters so well that we truly believed he was those people. Be it the endearing characters in Namesake and Life of Pi, or the goofy ones in Karwan and Qarib Qarib Single, or the serious ones in Piku and Haider. And yet, the being that he presented in these roles was his own. The dialogues he spoke seemed like his own words. This dichotomy made us feel like we knew him. He was our own.

Losing Irrfan meant personal to so many of us. I cried and was upset for days. My father has given up on life in depression and is waiting for his end. Back when the world mourned on loosing Irrfan, I wished they could trade lives as Irrfan wanted to live. One is waiting for his end and there is one who wanted to hold on a little longer. Such was his greatness.

What a cathartic interview, you had me crying all over again💔💔💔. Because of Babil ,I finally understand why his demise felt so personal to me ,it’s because Irrfan’s performances put us in a spell and stayed with us forever and now that he’s gone we feel this enormous void because we have no physical being to associate what he made us feel with the performances that he left us with.

Everytime sutapa ma'am got emotional throughout the interview, I had tears in my eyes.
I have watched Irrfan Sir's movies (actually who hasn't) but listening to his rejoice and larger than life personality traits from sutapa ma'am n baabil was so therapeutic.
The best part of the interview was the gamete of emotions they went through while remembering Irrfan Sir's irreplaceable memories. Getting emotional for a moment n laughing on next second shows how bigger and positive a person Irrfan Sir was.
The Indian cinema will miss a versatile and natural artist like Irrfan Khan Sir forever 💯
Today this interview has helped me learn the actual aspects of life and career.
I wish luck and love to both Sutapa Ma'am and Baabil 🙏

Such a lovely interview... Brought back the memories and did bring back some tears as well. Great artists are very rarely great people and some are more often celebrated for their craft than the kind of people they were. Irrfan was a gem in front of and away from the camera. His performances centered around characters rooted in reality and with his own personal touches made the common man the star of his films.
There are so many performances of his that come to mind but I especially connected with his performance in the lunchbox. I could see people who I interacted with everyday in his performance. His legacy will live on and he'll always be remembered as one of India's finest actors. As an audience, all we can do is root for his son as he attempts to create his own path in films and not compare him unfavorably to his father.

Such plain, simple, unaffected souls. Somehow a strange feeling that Irfan is watching and smiling in his peculiar way. I think Irfan practised and did achieve an art of being immortal in people's memory. Very few people can attain that level.

I was a bit hesitant to watch this because of emotional reasons, but ended up watching the whole conversation in one go. THIS is what journalism should be about. Sensitive, kind, empathetic and honest. Anupama ma'am Thank You So Much for your grace and warmth, they shine through the work you do. Your interviews are always such dignified conversations. The world is lucky to have a platform like Film Companion. Conversations with depth and substance. Needless to say, Sutapa ma'am and Babil are so wonderful. This is so rare...to see such honest and real people in an industry that really does not have too many people with such qualities. Forget the industry, even the world in general lacks such genuineness in people. In their pain, like Sutapa ma'am said, there is love, laughter and so much strength. I wish and hope they will always be able to find that love, laughter and strength. 54 Beautiful minutes. Thank you, Film Companion.

I felt one of my Family member behind the camera talking to me...
U made my day and the same time I was crying....
    Few words
U made cry with a smile,
    Listening your voice,
    Far from the noise,
    Sitting here next to us,
    You made me up,
    Baba...
U made me cry with a smile.

Tears roll every time I see him or remember him. That’s the power of his soul that connected with audience like me. Immortal has its meaning when it comes to his “being”. As his wife says he wasn’t ready and we weren’t ready to let him go and not have get to see him again. Spread magic wherever you are
