So true, everybody at my work wants to get it, it’s just like a bad cold for a couple days but you get the full week off to go to the beach or just relax!!!
But it is true. Running yourself into the ground working and then being forced to take time off because your immune system is weakened and you’re sick is one of the few ways you can mentally recover nowadays. As for the covid sick, I tried to work remotely until I drove myself into dire illness then had to rest for a week, which really did help.
That one guy who wore face paint and antlers on Jan 6th should be thanked for making such an iconic costume that's so INSTANTLY recognisable, that it helps snl writers say SO much more about their characters than words ever will.
@Jeff Lebowski I had covid too. This guy is trying to be funny because he obviously doesn’t realize how covid affected most of the world. People lost their lives. I’m sorry that you have to deal with this.
Agree. I made more money than I ever have, used my stimulus to start a business making spell candles, watched unlimited TV, and thought I didn't have agoraphobia and panic disorder anymore but then it turned out it was just the quarantine😂
No way they could have done this two years ago. But now it's hilarious. From the always excellent Cecily voiceover, to everyone on camera playing their part well.
How is it hilarious now when we're heading into the worst winter of covid yet with rsv, flu, and covid variants running rampant, thousands dying each week? Is that what makes it funny now? Not to mention hospitals already overflowing with sick children, acute and long covid patients, staff stretched thin after three years of this. But sure, go off on how excellent and hilarious it is to downplay and minimize a deadly, infectious airborne disease that doesn't just attack the immune system but every system in your body

“Sometimes the only way to get mentally healthy is to get physically sick!” It’s funny because it’s true🤣
I don't know, I've heard being physically ill and disabled with long covid is not actually that fun or healing.
But it is true. Running yourself into the ground working and then being forced to take time off because your immune system is weakened and you’re sick is one of the few ways you can mentally recover nowadays. As for the covid sick, I tried to work remotely until I drove myself into dire illness then had to rest for a week, which really did help.
Opiate withdrawal to a T!
it's sarcasm, not truth.
Even a 25 second break from human beings is a great break.
Best statement ever 😂
That one guy who wore face paint and antlers on Jan 6th should be thanked for making such an iconic costume that's so INSTANTLY recognisable, that it helps snl writers say SO much more about their characters than words ever will.
"2:01 Quanon Shaman bit was hilarious!"
I got Covid the Monday before Thanksgiving 2020. It was the greatest Thanksgiving I’ve ever had.
I was burnt out at work this summer when I caught Covid. I’ve never been more happy to be sick. 😂😭
You Americans work too hard. For real.
You had me at "Are you feeling tired and run down...sick of the endless grind at work?"
Yup..Does your life suck and it might be fun to blame it on a virus??
Aren't we all in a way?
Watching this in quarantine is a trip
Perhaps the greatest skit SNL has done in decades
This one and Dave Chappelle's monologue last week were the fan favorites everywhere.
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Covid was so stressful, staying home, getting paid more than normal without working, and doing what I wanted. Total hell.
@Jeff Lebowski I had covid too. This guy is trying to be funny because he obviously doesn’t realize how covid affected most of the world. People lost their lives. I’m sorry that you have to deal with this.
You worked at Twitter?
@@MisssKayy he’s making light of a tougher situation, just as this skit is. Don’t make it more serious than it needs to be.
@@MisssKayy me too. It was mildly uncomfortable and inconvenient for a week.
Agree. I made more money than I ever have, used my stimulus to start a business making spell candles, watched unlimited TV, and thought I didn't have agoraphobia and panic disorder anymore but then it turned out it was just the quarantine😂
Seriously, whichever "side" one is on, this is classic humor - Which we sure could use more of! 🤣
My doctor prescribed covid at least once a month. And my work life balance has been relaxing.
I got Covid for the first time this week and I literally had this thought today! I haven’t had to cook dinner in 5 days!
They tried to do a reality dating show sketch where the contestants had COVID and were isolated (it was supposed to be on the episode hosted by John Mulaney for the fourth time), but, wouldn't ya know it, it got cut after dress rehearsal. What a difference two years make.
This was the funniest sketch all season 😂😂😂 as a teacher I relate!
How many of your students have had COVID once or multiple times, and/or have come down with severe RSV?
That's pretty concerning if this was the FUNNIEST sketch all season.
@@nekosila yeah it was a rough season I’m ngl. This entire episode was the funniest imo.
Yup, my kids teacher just took the rest of the semester off...(hell with em)..
@@fivehourdelay I’m not sure. They’re not required to report covid cases anymore sadly which puts both teachers & other students at constant risk for COVID
This was such a good idea and so well done. ....and not far off from reality.
I got COVID last week. The timing of this skit is spot on.
@@johnmarkconnolly6414 you got sick last week, & you believe it was CoViD.. wasn’t it supposed to be “deadly”? Shouldn’t you have died? How is this skit “funny” if you believe it’s real? How many times can you get this illness? Why is it “funny” that two years of people dying from COPD, asthma, pneumonia other illnesses which they deem as “CoViD” is “funny”?
It’s exactly reality, these actors are proving to you that it’s all about nothing.. they shut the whole world down & are now making fun of those who believe it is a real thing.. it’s sad to see how many people are willing to feed the fire of this new supposed illness.. (when all they REALLY did was rename all old illnesses)
@Planning is Futile we all need laughter
@@billdautreve9277no, it Was bad, but now most people are vaccinated.
great SNL can make a joke about covid, which killed my uncle and left me disabled. this shit is not a joke
So sorry that happened to you.
You're right
Agreed. Very sorry you had to go through that. And I agree with your take on this. I had a close friend go from a case of the sniffles to a casket in seven days.
Agreed! I’m really disappointed by this sketch. As someone who is immunocompromised and at risk of severe COVID, I’m still terrified. I do not find it funny. I’m sorry you’re having to go through this.
So is it real or not ?? Why aren't they doing shutdowns no more, why are people partying and going to concerts like COVID vanished ?? It's so confusing 😥
Haha! Tip of the day: Don't throw out your positive test strips... they could come in handy one day ;-)
It's not like they have dates on them or anything.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This was me when my job finally agreed to give us a paid week off for Covid, I couldn’t WAIT to get it 😂
YALL I LITERALLY TESTED POSITIVE TODAY FOR THE 1ST TIME. this is hilarious and could not have been timed any better.
Wishing you a mild case!
1:21 *Home working people felt that* 😂
I actually tried to draw a second pink line on a COVID test so I could get out of seeing my in-laws. Sadly, it doesn't take.
0:55 "It was like I had a bad cold for three days"
I've had far worse colds.
I get hit with allergies and sinuses.
Thick phlegm and mucus stuck in my throat.
But when I brush with pearl drops tooth polish
(Rubbing my tongue across my front teeth)
It's a great feeling 😁
Omg I WISH when I got Covid it was like this😂 I only had it once at the beginning of 2023 but I had to go from urgent care to ER, I don’t think I’ve ever been that sick in my life
Ngl the body pains the first few nights are unreal lol. You can definitely feel your body trying to fight it off and I’m young. Cant imagine what it feels like for older people 🙌👏for immunity
Worst for me was my sinuses threatening to explode and the migraine that came with the fever. I ate Tylenol like candy when I had it. Definitely thinking about the older community who can't just eat Tylenol, relax, and chill with Netflix. The seriousness of it hasn't been forgotten. But this was a lighthearted romp
@@Southernblonde1310 actually it's eugenics propaganda disguised as comedy
Yeah COVID is still horrible, especially for people with pre-existing conditions. This sketch is perpetuating the idea that chronically ill and disabled people’s lives don’t matter. 300,000 people died of COVID in the US in the past week. Many are experiencing long-term disability for the first time with long COVID.
@@ticktickboom29 These people aren't disabled, they tested positive on the phony PCR tests and were forced to self-quarantine. The fact that you didn't get that makes me understand how you could believe all that MSM crap you just regurgitated. Got your jab right?
That was a truly fantastic sketch/commercial.
Love a commercial for highly infectious and debilitating airborne respiratory viruses that have killed millions. Good stuff, brilliant even, clever in how it downplays covid and turns it into a funny bit about time off work.
This captures the Zeitgeist of the United States in 2022 perfectly
Yes, full on denialism and delusion. This is really sad.
@@trnglm We can learn from the rich history and cultures along denial.
@@trnglm Hear hear
This was hilarious even though I spent time in the hospital thanks to covid (and the flu. How fun that you can get them at the same time!) And literally got covid again 2 weeks later. The sad part is, if you work from home, they still expect you to work. It would've been worth the extra fee to have my internet knocked out so I couldn't work.
yes its so hilarious, how serious covid was for everyone and now its a huge joke. thanks covid
You had flu then....
How did they differentiate the “Covid” from the flu?
They have the same set of symptoms.
@@JasonJohnson-ro2nh These people are dumber than a bottle of air.
I’m glad you got better. 💜
Coming to you live from the same people that would disavow such jokes two years ago!
That IS the breakthrough.
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
SNL has still got it! This is BRILLIANT!
@Amy Wade Awwwww.... aren't you a sweetheart???? Now get lost!
Wow that's a great idea!
As a matter of fact I'm listed to appear for jury duty and you know something I'm starting to feel kind of sick.
Thanks thanks SNL.
I haven't heard a good, irreverent bit on SNL in a long, long time. This is hysterical! 🤣🤣🤣😱
Amen! Covid was 2 days of sinus pressure for me! #Teamnaturalimmunity
@@cherbear7673 that’s because “Covid” is allergies, the flu, the common cold and every other ailment relabeled.
@@cherbear7673 I'm in my 60s and for me, it was a few days of no appetite, low energy (probably due to lack of food intake), and mild chills. I have had far worse colds.
@@cherbear7673lucky you. It was a full week of exhaustion and night sweats, loss of smell and taste (and I make things that I need to smell in order to formulate correctly!) and more, for my partner and me. We got up only for the bathroom and some food. He had to go back to work after 7 or 10 days, and was so tired after each day. Two years later, I need at Least ten hours of sleep to feel ok.
My first time getting covid was a good experience. 10 days with noone bothering me and people giving me my favorite food. It was luxurious. I lost 5lbs and it ended up motivating me to begin my weight loss journey...etc
"Because sometimes the only way to get mentally healthy is to get physically sick" - True on so many levels
"...and for an extra fee, we'll knock out the Wi-Fi near your house so you can't do any Zooms."
Damn. My doc didn't prescribe that one. Otherwise, this is spot on regarding avoiding kids and work.
@Amy Wade Did SNL fire you, or something? Lolol
@Amy Wade Amy Schumer is that you? you're not funny
@@amywade8163 Is it because of "The Jews"?
Thank God for RUclips putting up a Covid warning. 😂

Hope lame was that warning
Give me a Break, COVID!
LOL. Clever sketch.
I got out of jury duty with covid this year. Instant win.
"Because sometimes the only way to get mentally healthy is to get physically sick." what a great line!!!
Wonder the US drug & pharm. administration dosent use it in print campaigns😁
I legit am recovering from COVID right this second. I've been out of comission for a solid 10 days now. Besides the fever, congestion, and fading in/out of consciousness, I do feel mentally rested. Rekindled my love for PBS (yes I even signed up for a paid subscription)....Masterpiece Theater is my jam!! Thanks Rona for reminding me what matters 🥰 I do still have some pretty severe fatigue, but all in all I'd give the 2022 virus a 7 out of 10 for relaxation....not the part where I was rapping at deaths cold and unforgiving chamber door because it truly was scary and awful overall would not recommend. Hoping those who do get it recover well, this is funny but COVID is unkind for real.
Yep, I just binged on three seasons of Poldark.
According to my boss, I’ve had COVID 52 times this last year 🥵🥶🤢🤮😵💫😵🤯☠️🤪😜😂🤣
😂😂😂😂 Dying
First they ask for Covid Amnesty... and now they are mocking it on SNL...
Nuremburg is'a comin.
Hysterical!!!! That was great!😂😂😂
Joke's on you: my boss made me go to work with covid! I work reception at a hotel! Isn't that fun?
True story. I actually got a jury duty summons in March of 2020. COVID 19 made it go away. Thanks, coronavirus!
But that was back when there wasno vaccine and people were freaking out and depleting the toilet paper supply (among other things, but the TP being gone is the most memorable moment out of it).

Funniest SNL skit EVER! Funny because it's true.
This was our favorite part of the entire show!! So funny!
Then I had a Catecholamine storm as my brain stem was attacked continuously by the spike protein. My heart started to have arrhythmias, and finally I died of hypoxia. Thanks Bio labs.
Cytokine storm. 😂🤣. I am not a grammar nazi, but I wanted people to know what to reference if they were interested.😂. That was a funny comment though.
@@julieanna8495 nope, I meant what I typed. Here’s a quote- A Brainstem Catecholamine Neuron Endgame?
Could the "acute" Spike Protein Myocarditis deaths actually be the LESS common fatal outcome?
@@NevermindtheRedundants Thank you for correcting me. I have been doing much research on these topics but I have never seen the word you referenced.🥺🤨😐. My bad. But being the good student that I am, I am going to look up what you bought to my attention. I thought it was satire because you said you ‘died of hypoxia’, so I wrongly assumed the entire message was a spoof. Now I need to look up Catecholamine storm.👍🏼💪🏼
@@NevermindtheRedundants Oh my goodness!! Just noticed the paper you referenced and noticed it was authored by Walter Chesnut of whom I am well aware of. Then I Google Scholared Catecholamine neurons and was amazed that I had forgotten it was part of the Reticular Formation of the brain stem! 😕🥺☹️. Now I understand what you were trying to tell me: these Catecholamine neurons are responsible for our most basic bodily functions that control sleep/wake cycles, breathing, blood pressure, stimuli modulation, among other unconscious activities. Damn! You are definitely on to something that has not crossed my awareness yet-and this concept is terrifying. Not just the heart and arteries, or even the possibility of Prion Disease since the lipid nano particles can cross the blood/brain barrier-but the very CENTER of our being-the Brainstem ITSELF could be being attacked by the spike proteins. This is so fantastical, yet appears to make perfect sense. This is utterly terrifying. What started out as a casual reply by me to your original post, has now caused me to consider ALL of this new knowledge in a different way. Thank you, thank you for sharing that ‘idea’ with me. I need to deep research all of this as soon as my head stops spinning. I wasn’t expecting the ramifications of what you shared. 🥺🥺👏🏼👏🏼
BRILLIANT omg right on point, it did felt like a break when i had it 🤣🤣🤣
I would like to see some variants of this ad
Every “real” big pharma commercial is a variant of this ad…
The amount of people doing this to get out of work is so real
Can you really blame people for doing this to get out of work. As long as employers allow people to take time off for Covid people are going to continue to do it. As soon as employers put an end to it then it stops.
After being so cautious for 3 years, in February 2023, my husband and I went with our son and his girlfriend, to a David Attenborough presentation at this beautiful huge theater in Bellingham, Washington. I seriously wondered if I should stay masked, but my son and husband told me I was being paranoid. 3 days later Hubby and I both came down with Covid for our first time. We were both very sick for 4 freaking weeks, those tests kept being positive, after a month, husband went back to work and caught the flu, which also lasted 4 weeks, I was so glad to be over it!! We caught Covid in Southern California in February of this year, 2024, but this time it was a bad sore throat for a week and we got well! Funny skit, lol!!!
