Yep! I had 2 surgeries in 3 weeks and had to stay in bed 6 days after each, since on medical work didn’t bother me. Usually on PTO I have to check email and answer “emergency” calls. Not Covid but same idea.

This is the first time I've seen Sarah Sherman in a skit where she's not simply screaming. She can actually act and be funny!
She's had several 'normal' bits and they were all good. I think her gross schtick is hilarious and helped her stand out in Chicago, but I feel like she's gaining confidence that she can be other kinds of funny since joining SNL. She's become one of my favorite cast members.
Damn, I was about to comment that too. She's cool, but the constant yelling was becoming a bit excessive.

My husband forwarded me this skit while he had covid. We both had a much-needed belly laugh which helped his immune system and reduced my stress. This skit is brilliant. I know it will offend some people; but laughing at ourselves is healthy. Having a sense of humor helps us to be more resilient in difficult situations. There are so many subtle bits and pieces of humor and references weaved in. I had to watch it a few times to pick up everything.

I don't know, I've heard being physically ill and disabled with long covid is not actually that fun or healing.
But it is true. Running yourself into the ground working and then being forced to take time off because your immune system is weakened and you’re sick is one of the few ways you can mentally recover nowadays. As for the covid sick, I tried to work remotely until I drove myself into dire illness then had to rest for a week, which really did help.

I'm one of those less than a 5% chance of surviving on a ventilator people. Seeing people act and talk like covid is a joke is really poor in class. I'm not generally a easy person to offend but far to many people act just like that skit. I was sick over 50 days with no "10-14" day paid vacation from anyone either. I wouldn't wish covid on my worse enemy. There are somethings that just shouldn't be joked about. When my wife got covid she was sick for a week then she was right as rain. I do get that not everyone have a traumatic experience but for many that video is really screwed up and down plays what so many have had to go through.

Can you really blame people for doing this to get out of work. As long as employers allow people to take time off for Covid people are going to continue to do it. As soon as employers put an end to it then it stops.
That was a truly fantastic sketch/commercial.
Love a commercial for highly infectious and debilitating airborne respiratory viruses that have killed millions. Good stuff, brilliant even, clever in how it downplays covid and turns it into a funny bit about time off work.

Yeah. Not as bad as doing a lampoon on HIV or cancer, but just like it says in the skit, Covid is not for everyone. Older folks with health issues still have to worry about this stuff even after getting all the shots.
Snl humor has been irreverent for 40+ years. I'm not so sure they haven't ever made one spoofing cancer or HIV.
The irony of the the same people who physically and verbally attacked people for not wearing masks being the same people involved in/laughing at this sketch is mind-boggling.

Wow, they really nailed this one. I remember getting the flu, which really put me down and out, like I was nailed to the couch. Still there was times that I wished I had the COVID excuse to get out of something.

This was hilarious even though I spent time in the hospital thanks to covid (and the flu. How fun that you can get them at the same time!) And literally got covid again 2 weeks later. The sad part is, if you work from home, they still expect you to work. It would've been worth the extra fee to have my internet knocked out so I couldn't work.

@@cherbear7673 I'm in my 60s and for me, it was a few days of no appetite, low energy (probably due to lack of food intake), and mild chills. I have had far worse colds.

It was a full week of exhaustion and night sweats, loss of smell and taste (and I make things that I need to smell in order to formulate correctly!) and more, for my partner and me. We got up only for the bathroom and some food. He had to go back to work after 7 or 10 days, and was so tired after each day. Two years later, I need at Least ten hours of sleep to feel ok.
