Bob Vogel has a video where he did a sub 6 second drill. The only difference between you two is the movement from 7 to 3 yards....

Firearm instructor at our Sheriffs office has us do this. Very awesome drill! I hope to practice this one more often to get below 9.5 seconds

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on why the Cold Drill should be miss=fail as compared to pushing faster & harder with misses being part of what happens during warmed up training.
