Am an ardent fan of raghu sir. Not that i can decode and explain what he plays. But intuitively, i just love the way he plays. So, i fail to see what i should catch in this brief clip. Esp it says "epic theermanam"
He makes it look like he is jus sitting. Until the camera moves towards him, the play doesnt prepare you for the frail, aging frame sittin there. True vidvat ages with grace and shines till the last moment. As embodied by this giant!!
I believe it is like this; From the beginning og the cycle, it starts with one mathra skipped. Then from the second half, the misram as 4 + 3, like this; X 1 2 3 X V X V X 1 .tha.dhim.thakita.|.tha.dhim.thakita.|.tha.dhim.thakita tha.dhim.thakita tha.dhim.thakita so, exactly after 6 mathras from the from the beginning, it ends, where next "tha.dhim." falls, which is the edam. We all know that three misram from half of the cycle, skipping one mathra would fall exactly at the edam. But the brilliance in what he played is that he concealed it with the nada he played, exactly following the 4+3 pattern to fill the previous aksharams, whcih are 4 mathras each, by skipping one mathras each from each pair of aksharams. Hence until, the very commonly known harmless small wave of 4+3, known to everyone, had hit the precise location, skipping 6 mathras, like a "surprise tsunami", no one could noticed what was coming!!!! What a brilliance..!! My pranamams.....!!!
Abhishek is delighted!

Or was it that ultra minimal filling with metronomic precision, he gives between the anupallavi and charanam, accentuating the eduppu?
