Largest deployment of reserve forces since the cold war 😳 .. 600 soldiers 😮 .. from three different countries 😒 Do you know this number is not enough to sustain heavy operations for a week to defend a town in battle conditions like Ukraine
Look at the defence journal on there they have the full list of equipment to be retired and it’s unreal 3000 + vehicles aswell as all the 105mm artillery pieces, all in the next 5 years!
Sorry, but if you consider moving a couple of vehicles from York to Germany and 10-12 coaches of people to Germany (that can be done with a double manned bus crew in one hit) is absolutely pathetic. And Jackals are completely obsolete for modern warfare where FPV drones are flying around in droves. It's basically a death trap. And no jamming device will provide the required safety because Russians are constantly changing frequency they operate on.
People who use the word obsolete when discussing the military rarely actually have a clue how warfare works. Jammers don't always just have one stationary frequency, they can hop across wide bands depending on what the Russians are using. Also, drones aren't the ultimate solution to every problem people seem to think they are, just another threat to be countered
@@Orbital_Inclination with all due respect, when you will have sent 250+ vehicles from a quad to four axle low loaders to carry howitzers to Ukraine. I'm talking here about near peer enemy not some flip flops in Afghanistan with 0 airpower or Iraqis with obsolete weapons and poor training and limited motivation. Oh, and you have 0 knowledge about jammers on vehicles also. Based on your argument about changing frequencies. If NATO countries would have a good solution then Denmark and a couple of other member states wouldn't be so keen on buying the product a Ukrainian company has developed recently.
650??? Thousands would be a show of force surely? Maybe there was significant logistics exercises behind the scenes but this doesnt seem overly impressive.
As in the previous video - underwhelmed - Lionheart involved 39,500 Reservists ! We seriously need to revitalise and properly fund our Army Reserve as part of the Strategic Review - current training levels of 28 days per year are a very sick joke !
They weren't Reservists, as such - they were Territorials. Deploying entire trained units, capable of operating independently, many with long histories of service through both World Wars. The Reserves now just provide extra manpower for Regular units.
Good decision by the MoD to retain the camp at Sennelager and the surrounding training area, proving really useful for practicing movements to the Continent, training opportunities and a forward operating base for further deployment to the Baltic States etc..
Another repeat. Am I supposed to copy and paste the comments from the earlier video here too? Do you take them down and then put them back up again to simulate output or are we all supposed to have the memory of a goldfish?
Could be linked with Queen's Royal Hussars (see the arm patch worn?) or Royal Wessex Yeomanry (the Reserves they're paired with)? In Gulf War 2, a palm tree, with crossed chemical retorts, was used as a badge by NBC/CBRN cells - could there be a connection?
It was a composite Battalion / Battlegroup made up of units from across half of the Brigade. The other half of the Brigade has troops on other training activities this year and will take their turn next year. A load more will have been using their 2 weeks training to complete career courses. Others from the Brigade are deployed on tasks as individual augmentees supporting the Regular Army as well.
@barryalexander2909 wouldn't it be better for them to deploy as they would in battle? In proper units? Just wondering though. Was mainly saying that it's a comparatively puny force
What the UK fails to realise is that the military pay in other countries is much better, they get paid and looked well after, when my uncle retired from the military as a chef.. not UK …he was paid 800,000 retirement, every time you turn the news on you have some veteran trying to make ends meet, do you think for one moment in life we will ever fight for king and country
650 men in total including several nations. I think we sent like 200 men. Is this a joke? What are 650 men going to do in any war? Pointless nonsense. Not to mention these reservists sound like total amateurs.
Face it Brits, you are just a small part of our military now😂. The UK is our "B." The only waves Britannia rules is in a bathtub😂. But hey your soldiers are awesome.
650 from THREE nations! that is pathetic, I served on Lionheart and Crusader, that was 10s of thousands, my Regiment alone had 400 plus!
Well said.
The Reserves, nowadays, are simply BCRs. Gone are the days of entire Territorial Regiments with proud histories back to WW1 & WW2.
650 soldiers is a show of force? That could be a daily casualty figure in a hot war.

I’m hopeful joining the army very soon. And this is very embarrassing

Its good practice for the logistics....the scale is not so much the issue (IMHO) but the lessons will help.
