Rob is way up in the top ten knife makers, and his attitude to bushcraft is excellent, the guys a legend and if Mr kohanski were alive today I'm sure he would be very proud and impressed with his work .Great review, brother. God bless you and your family, and happy camping 🏕 😀 😀 😊 😄 🙏. Lee
About seven years ago, a good friend acquired a Skookum second hand off EBay. He let me spend a day with it while we were camping in the New York Adirondack mountains. That handle fit my hand like melted butter over hot corn on the cob. It was a dream; but trying to get one of these knives was just impractical for the average outdoor person. Fast forward to about 18 months ago. I discovered Rob's RUclips channel and found a comfortable and laugh-filled niche to visit. Eventually I bought his Mors Kochanski Tribute knife; what a dreamy blade to work with. But when I saw his vids of the Bushtool, I had to have one. About six months ago I got it; and the butter started melting around the handle again. Brilliant match, and I didn't have to wait ten years. I must admit though...... I'm not sure what I like best; his knife making skills, or the craig I get out of his videos. Sometimes that guy has me laughing like I'm in a Monty Python/Ronnie Barker marathon. If you want a good knife and good laugh..... visit Rob Evans!!! Cheers!
I have one of these knives and it's absolutely fantastic. Brilliant craftsmanship and clearly made by someone who knows how to use a knife. I can only recommend Rob and his knives to anyone, his channel is excellent too. Thanks for this review.
It is a lot less than this now. He is a full time maker, I had mine within the month as he had a blade blank there ready. Get on the list, you won't regret it!
I own one and it is definitely a great knife! I was lucky enough to pick one up on the secondary knife market so there was no wait for me. Looking forward to Rob starting to go for it full time, I will be placing an order as soon as he announces on his channel.
Hey Trev. Great Video on the knife. A long time ago I bought a knife from Finland called a pukki or something. This knife you have looks so similar, but bigger, defo see the influence. What you have there is a thing of beauty. Worth the wait i would say.
@@bundufundi That's it, puukko ha ha, pukki is a football player lol. All well up here mate, waiting on some snow, holiday in 3 weeks for 1 month yayyy. Hows about you?
@@northernembersoutdoors1045 Some light snow on the peaks but not much. Only a weeks holiday over Christmas unfortunately. Are you heading to the Southern Hemisphere?
@@bundufundiHii Trev, it's so much expense to go home to New Zealand that I doubt I'll ever visit home again. Takes a lot of time to. Shame but I make so here ha ha. Snow today buddy. Take care.
I like the look of that one a lot. Be a good all around bush knife. Pointy enough to actually gut fish, but still beefy enough to make kindling and carve with. Also, I prefer I shorter blade. Never really find myself needing a big knife when you got an axe with ya.
Thanks for that review! I was wondering which knife style would be better for me, the woodlore or skookum. You helped me to make my decision - I'll go with Mors' knife style. After using Mora HD for a few years now, I don't like the long straight part of the edge, because it's a pain to produce decent feathersticks. I definitely prefer to have that curved edge as close to the handle as possible. It's good to know that a serious bushcrafter has similar experience and it's not only my imagination :)
You could get a Mora Robust, it has that curvy blade you need. It is carbon. Like the 510. It has only 91mm, but for most tasks you didn't need more. I find the handle also fantastic, for a 13.-€ knife. Oh wait, it costs now 15.- ... LOL
@@svenschmalfu3093 Ha, but this is exactly what I have now ;) I really like this knife, it's been with me for... I don't know, 10 years? But it falls short when it comes to making shavings. It's a bit irritating that it has this straight bit instead of a belly along the whole length of the blade. It is easier to sharpen, but it is not ideal to work with. Even a slight curve would be better (like on a Mora carving knife). But still a great knife to have. Mora robust is very cool, still quite cheap and extremely durable.
Brother, is Rob still making these knives? I really want the Mors Tribute knife that Rob Evans makes, if anybody sells one ,especially with ballbearing/52100, or if Rob still makes these, please let me now
Cheers mate for the glowing review!
I am going full time in January and I will do a hip carry sheath if asked but 95% of customers ask for a dangler.
Now I just need to get in a lot more practice on feather sticking, no more excuses!😂
@@bundufundi you are stopping the curls too soon, keep going to just shy of the previous stop, start at the straightest part of the stick.
@@RobEvansWoodsman I will give it a go. Cheers mate!
That’s a sweet knife, man. Solid simple design.

Yes, he’s definitely both a fantastic knife maker and great character. I enjoy his straight shooting style for sure. Thanks for watching!
Enjoying his self-deprecating sense of humor and sly look…they get me every time!! Not bad blades either💥💯❤️ hahaha
Great video, thanks 😊
Cool blade!
Amazing work by Sir Rob
I really like his knives, he definitely understands how this type of knife will be used and so the geometry is spot on.

Great review! Subbed, and I know I have another knife to ponder purchasing...👍👍
Best bushcraft knife maker in the land by far 👍 sick of seeing woodlore clones.. that profile leaves it hands down 😁 all the best Lincoln 👍🤙
Cheers Lincoln, it is a very good knife.
Beautiful knife and an excellent review. Interesting history as well!
Thanks Brett.

Hi, it is the Gransfors Bruk small hand hatchet or kubben.
