Density Testing

Samuel Jeffrey, R&R’s Applications Lab Technician, demonstrates how to test slurry density. Density, or the mass of something per unit volume, is important in maintaining slurry and coating integrity. R&R recommends testing slurry density weekly using a 100 ml graduated cylinder and a balance scale. Density testing is a fit for use test. The slurry density should be maintained ±0.02 g/ml from the target density.

Is that zirconium opacifier slurry

Bikramjeet, no, it is a fused silica slurry. A zircon slurry would have a much higher density.
