Of course, they cannot sound like the Japanese do. I rather compared this sound to their old Korean one, which years ago wasn't that strong and impressive for me, personally. I don't compare them to J-Rock bands though. I love their Korean songs exactly because they're more emotional.
Vladi V They are Korean, so obviously they have more emotion when singing Korean, but K-rock is less known, so I think it sounds cool. J-rock is more visual kei. K-rock is more like American rock but Korean (if that makes sense) so I honestly prefer when they sing rock in Korean and sing more pop/emotionally in Japanese, but if they sang in Korean all the time I'd be even happier.

I also would prefer if they sing on their own language but at the end of the day is the music that matters the most. Don't get me wrong, I've been listening to K-Pop and other genres of Korean music for years but this band shined for me with their recent sound, both in Korean and Japanese, exactly because they are different and make their own music now, which must have cost them a lot. It appears that they have lost much of their support in South Korea due to refusing to follow the trends, which is really saddening considering how good they are. Korean public prefers the Pop sound, which is why FTISLAND is so underrated.
Because of Lee Hong Ki's drama (You're Beautiful) I began to love k-pop music too most specially FT Island. they are so cute and fun, they are like brothers in real life. I love their music so much, Lee Hong Ki's voice is unreal and I am glad Jaejin is getting better now. Good work FT island. love you all... hugs hugs

I personally think these guys deserve way more than this. It really does break my heart knowing how they are being treated by FNC (dunno the name) its really bs. They are soo awesome...they are actually a band and u dont see much of this in kpop (ik this is a jpop song) but Yeh. They never promote them and the money that the group makes they take it to use for props for other groups in the agency. So they get less money. Like the band had a new song that came out no one really knew, i didn't. They had to post it on their instagram sayin that their company didn't promote the song and that they had to promote ourselves. Its sad really, and gets me angry because they are really good.

Being a huge 'metal head' and before that, only listening to rock. Then getting into kpop/jrock. I love both FTIsland's japanese and korean albums. Each album is unique and carries a different feeling. By expanding their genre and trying new things in music is what makes an artist grow. Not to mention that each member is a vital part of the band and you can see each member's talent in this album. I love it ^^

Those antis just want them to be little pre-packaged boybands and make bubble-gum pop like the rest of those popular Korean groups do. FT Island is special in that they actually follow their own feelings and desires. They don't say only exactly what they're told to say in public. They make music that speaks from their hearts and tells a story and important message. They can do fun music and serious music. Not to mention they are so talented in regards to singing and playing instruments, as well as composing their own music.
I haven't been listening to FTISLAND for a bit as I took some time off exploring rookie groups, but when I came back I realized that Hongki has a really passionate voice. Somehow, there's a tender tinge behind the strong voice he sings in and it really took me by surprise, even though I've been a Primadonna for a year now. Don't care about the haters and the trolls. Those who have seen this band play live would never doubt their skills or their music. I fell in love with this band while watching the FTHX concert. They are pure awesomeness live. And just for the ignorant: a lot of songs are recorded with extra instruments, like strings, for example. That doesn't mean any of the band members need to play the violin at the concert. Live versions are usually rearranged. These trolls either haven't been to a live concert in their whole lives or just pretend they don't know, so they can go on trolling. Ignore them.

They might be too much for Korea - I have never been there but after I watched few Korean dramas and a few movies, and red a bit about life style - that society seems so unforgiving. You make a mistake as a child ( Hongki's mom had to knee because of him when he was young) and it is never fogoten. According to that I should have given my daughter for addoption long time ago (she was born March 1990 the same as Hongki) - hahaha. Long story short - those kids have something to say - it is in their lyrics and their music - they are telling stories and trying to teach us something - how dare they? This is now one of my favourite FT Island songs. Everyone is entitled to there own taste in music. You don't have to love every single song a group puts out. There are several artists that I only like ONE of their songs but that doesn't mean I have to hate on them but I don't like the rest. There are even a few FT Island songs I don't much care for but I respect them as individual artists with their own unique talents. They are all free spirits none more so the the emincely gifted Hongki.

Tessa It was like I imagined : AMAZING ! Unfortunately it was very short because it was not intended. First, there was only one concert at Paris (in Europe) but they added another. So this concert was about 50 minutes, so too short to really enjoy it.. I caught a bottle that Hongki threw on us ^^ We were all totally wet ! Also Hongki have drunk a lot ! He gave to 5 fan a big glass of beer ! haha, It was funny, they laughed a lot. I think they was very happy to be at Paris and enjoyed a lot their concerts. Hongki said that they had drunk all the afternoon and was a lot affected by us. Also he said : "This afternoon, we saw our old song, we remembered that we were not able to choice what we wanted to do etc... It was difficult (They all have tears in their eyes... It was ... waaaaah ) We know that we have the image of a pretty boys band really cute thanks to TV shows and our old song, (at this moment we all say "no, we know you, FIGHTING ! ULJIMA ! (don't cry in Korean language)" (they was very affected and I think, they didn't think that we would react like this, so they was happy and touched). They didn't sang this song :( neither Madly or Severly... So I was upset hahah~~ At the end they finally said that they will work hard in order to make better songs, because nowadays they are more free ! :) I think I said nearly all ^^ I'm sorry for my english ^^' I swear you will understand... haha ~~ A french's Primadonna ~

Don't care about the haters and the trolls. Those who have seen this band play live would never doubt their skills or their music. I fell in love with this band while watching the FTHX concert. They are pure awesomeness live. And just for the ignorant: a lot of songs are recorded with extra instruments, like strings, for example. That doesn't mean any of the band members need to play the violin at the concert. Live versions are usually rearranged. These trolls either haven't been to a live concert in their whole lives or just pretend they don't know, so they can go on trolling. Ignore them.

They're actually the light of Korean bands. A pity that they dont get lot popularity in their country than others now, anw, their talents will prove all and Pris definitely love them forever.
They might be too much for Korea - I have never been there but after I watched few Korean dramas and a few movies, and red a bit about life style - that society seems so unforgiving. You make a mistake as a child ( Hongki's mom had to knee because of him when he was young) and it is never fogoten. According to that I should have given my daughter for addoption long time ago (she was born March 1990 the same as Hongki) - hahaha.
Long story short - those kids have something to say - it is in their lyrics and their music - they are telling stories and trying to teach us something - how dare they?
For Korean society they are ahead of their time!
And any Koreans here - please no ofense - did not mean to ofend anybody. Please prove me wrong!

I have red a lot about these five boys, watched many of their concerts on youtube and just fell in love with them. I think these boys are missunderstood in their own country. I know about FNC and that FTs were there first band, maybe they thought they would not last long...I love Hongki...he reminds mi so much of my daughter in his personality...Did you by any chance see FTs in LA...BingBingBing - Hongki's english is not good but he was still running the show...I often watch that and smile...Good for him! I emailed my friend back home today to give them a chance and listen to their music...many people do not know about them...Yap, they are not promoted well...very sad.

Yep, HK had a rebellious period in teenage but past is past, nobody's perfect and we know he had enough of harsh criticism for his mistake even lasts untill now. This is now one of my favourite FT Island songs. Everyone is entitled to there own taste in music. You don't have to love every single song a group puts out. There are several artists that I only like ONE of their songs but that doesn't mean I have to hate on them but I don't like the rest. There are even a few FT Island songs I don't much care for but I respect them as individual artists with their own unique talents. They are all free spirits none more so the the emincely gifted Hongki.

So you went to the concert in Paris. How was it? Pease tell us.
Tessa It was like I imagined : AMAZING !
Unfortunately it was very short because it was not intended. First, there was only one concert at Paris (in Europe) but they added another. So this concert was about 50 minutes, so too short to really enjoy it.. I caught a bottle that Hongki threw on us ^^ We were all totally wet ! Also Hongki have drunk a lot ! He gave to 5 fan a big glass of beer ! haha, It was funny, they laughed a lot. I think they was very happy to be at Paris and enjoyed a lot their concerts. Hongki said that they had drunk all the afternoon and was a lot affected by us. Also he said : "This afternoon, we saw our old song, we remembered that we were not able to choice what we wanted to do etc... It was difficult (They all have tears in their eyes... It was ... waaaaah ) We know that we have the image of a pretty boys band really cute thanks to TV shows and our old song, (at this moment we all say "no, we know you, FIGHTING ! ULJIMA ! (don't cry in Korean language)" (they was very affected and I think, they didn't think that we would react like this, so they was happy and touched). They didn't sang this song :( neither Madly or Severly... So I was upset hahah~~ At the end they finally said that they will work hard in order to make better songs, because nowadays they are more free ! :)
