you have to understand the concept behind the reputation album cover to truly like it. it may look messy at first, but after you understand why, it makes sense. the album is all about the criticism she was receiving and what the news was saying about her. the news paper headlines all down the sides are all her name representing the news being written about her. her ripped up clothes and the new look shows the style growth and change from the 1989 era. there’s a lot of minor details behind it but it’s truly iconic.
Crazy Sexy Cool cover is 100000000x better than Fan Mail. Sorry, NOT SORRY. Crazy Sexy Cool cover is truly ICONIC and art. It’s feels very Eastern Bloc/Communist Russia/Red China. Those eyes pop so much bc it is washed out. Fan Mail is great, but CSC is ART.

E=MC2 is also bottom for me yeah haha * Taylor: See I'd say Fearless (stolen version)'s cover beats Fearless (TV) any day of the week. Red (TV) is gorgeous though! I'd say Madame X, debut, Who's That Girl, Remixed & Revisited and GHV2 would be lower - but above Hard Candy and Finally Enough Love standard edition. * Lorde: Pure Heroine bottom, Solar Power Mid and Melodrama high hahaha * Lady Gaga: If we're sticking to Gaga only albums Joanne is probably bottom for me. But she's had the Star is Born cover, she's had the Love for Sale cover, she's had the Cheek to Cheek cover - those are worse. Top tier is so difficult with her, but I think I would go with Artpop as #1. Chromatica makes it hard, but it is Artpop. * TLC: 3D looks terrible imo haha. I think I like Fanmail the most, because it's camp and I think it does fit with the theme of the title and everything. Tbh though, they don't have album covers that are that great hahaha * Rihanna: Bottom for sure Talk That Talk standard edition. The deluxe was great, but the standard just wasn't doing it for me. Top 100000% ANTI. Unapologetic would definitely be in my top too though haha * Britney: Yeah Glory for sure bottom, but if we're talking ALL covers of her B in the Mix: The Remixes 2? AWFUL! Especially, since I would put the original B in the Mix high, maybe even top 3 if you just stick to the one with just the butterfly. Top: Britney or Greatest Hits: My Prerogative. I love The Singles Collection too though. Oof, forgot about Circus, yeah maybe Circus wins from Glory for bad covers - still doesn't beat B In the Mix 2 though hahaha * Whitney: One Wish or I Look to You would be bottom for me. Idk, they're just not doing it for me. Top would be either I'm Your Baby Tonight or Whitney, but I think it's I'm Your Baby, because the Whitney cover is great, but I think I'm also feeding too much into nostalgia and iconicness of the album itself with that one. Oofff scratch that - you're right, forgot about that one; Greatest Hits is winning it for me I think.

For Mariah's Charmbracelet, the Special Edition cover (slipcase) is better for me. Just the standard cover that is not appealing to me. The Rainbow cover is a great artwork, the only thing I complain about this album is the mastering quality.
Would love to see this! But pretty sure Selena only has three albums to choose from. Selena was more of a “feature on other peoples songs” kinda girl I feel like. Aside from back in the day when she was releasing music with Selena Gomez and The Scene. I never really understood if those albums were still considered part of her solo discography.
You basically said all TLC covers were not that great and I respectfully disagree. Crazy, sexy, cool was an album cover where the group tried to recapture its magic and impact by paying homage to it with a new interpretation on the Fanmail cover. I loved that! Some artists today try to capture the essence of this cover in their album cover artwork & videos. You can see this album cover 50 ft. away, nameless and you would recognize the bodywork. CrazySexyCool is iconic in every way! The back cover was great too...plus the actual CD and tape photography were printed back then and not made for digital release. So the colors are a little wanky online compared to the printed booklets back then.
I don't care for Mariah's Emotions cover and I didn't like the memoirs cover at first but I love it now but I love the E=MC² cover and Charmbraclet, Daydream, MIAM and TEOM and butterfly. I LOVE Taylor's fearless and reputation covers. I love the alternative cover of breakaway and meaning of life and stronger album covers are my favorite and I love the piece by piece cover but i didn'tlike the songs on the the album cover. I love the all for you cover. The positions cover and sweetener, my everything are my favs. I adore the back to basics cover and album, and the liberation and lotus cover is are my favs. The og teenage dream and prism cover is my fav. The melodrama cover is beautiful and Joanne cover is gorgeous for me

Confessions, Erotica, Ray of Light, Music, Like a Prayer, True Blue, Bedtime Stories (though I prefer the upside down version that some cds had). But out of all of these, Like a Prayer is for sure the best one. It's far from my favorite Madonna album, but that cover though - damn! I did like Music and American Life both as well as album covers. I'd say Madame X, debut, Who's That Girl, Remixed & Revisited and GHV2 would be lower - but above Hard Candy and Finally Enough Love standard edition.
* Lorde: Pure Heroine bottom, Solar Power Mid and Melodrama high hahaha
* Lady Gaga: If we're sticking to Gaga only albums Joanne is probably bottom for me. But she's had the Star is Born cover, she's had the Love for Sale cover, she's had the Cheek to Cheek cover - those are worse. Top tier is so difficult with her, but I think I would go with Artpop as #1. Chromatica makes it hard, but it is Artpop.
* TLC: 3D looks terrible imo haha. I think I like Fanmail the most, because it's camp and I think it does fit with the theme of the title and everything. Tbh though, they don't have album covers that are that great hahaha
* Rihanna: Bottom for sure Talk That Talk standard edition. The deluxe was great, but the standard just wasn't doing it for me. Top 100000% ANTI. Unapologetic would definitely be in my top too though haha
* Britney: Yeah Glory for sure bottom, but if we're talking ALL covers of her B in the Mix: The Remixes 2? AWFUL! Especially, since I would put the original B in the Mix high, maybe even top 3 if you just stick to the one with just the butterfly. Top: Britney or Greatest Hits: My Prerogative. I love The Singles Collection too though. Oof, forgot about Circus, yeah maybe Circus wins from Glory for bad covers - still doesn't beat B In the Mix 2 though hahaha
* Whitney: One Wish or I Look to You would be bottom for me. Idk, they're just not doing it for me. Top would be either I'm Your Baby Tonight or Whitney, but I think it's I'm Your Baby, because the Whitney cover is great, but I think I'm also feeding too much into nostalgia and iconicness of the album itself with that one. Oofff scratch that - you're right, forgot about that one; Greatest Hits is winning it for me I think.

Would love to see this! But pretty sure Selena only has three albums to choose from. Selena was more of a “feature on other peoples songs” kinda girl I feel like. Aside from back in the day when she was releasing music with Selena Gomez and The Scene. I never really understood if those albums were still considered part of her solo discography.

Crazy, sexy, cool was an album cover where the group tried to recapture its magic and impact by paying homage to it with a new interpretation on the Fanmail cover. I loved that! Some artists today try to capture the essence of this cover in their album cover artwork & videos. You can see this album cover 50 ft. away, nameless and you would recognize the bodywork. CrazySexyCool is iconic in every way! The back cover was great too...plus the actual CD and tape photography were printed back then and not made for digital release. So the colors are a little wanky online compared to the printed booklets back then.

I don't care for Mariah's Emotions cover and I didn't like the memoirs cover at first but I love it now but I love the E=MC² cover and Charmbraclet, Daydream, MIAM and TEOM and butterfly. I LOVE Taylor's fearless and reputation covers. I love the alternative cover of breakaway and meaning of life and stronger album covers are my favorite and I love the piece by piece cover but i didn'tlike the songs on the the album cover. I love the all for you cover. The positions cover and sweetener, my everything are my favs. I adore the back to basics cover and album, and the liberation and lotus cover is are my favs. The og teenage dream and prism cover is my fav. The melodrama cover is beautiful and Joanne cover is gorgeous for me
