Went there today with a 40' container, was glad not to have the headboard and tail swing !! Was funny I got the job and thought looks familiar, nestled away at the back of my brain I remembered watching this video probably 6 years ago 🤣 was like I had been there before !! lots of parked cars on the corner where the pub is though just to add to the fun
Fun one isn't it. I got stuck there for a few hours last year. Got it in then could't get out as somebody parked right on the junction while i was unloading. Rang the office and was told just tell him to move it, Well i would if i knew where the driver was. Theres alot of doors to knock on if you don't know which building they are in.
@@markpritchard haha how did that work out did you manage to find the culprit by knocking or just bibbing the horn ? you would think with how many lorries are in and out people wouldn't want to risk their cars but it doesn't seem to bother them.
So many drivers now are refusing to go in to London to make deliveries and good for them. These idiots who are responsible for road planning have absolutely no idea about creating an infrastructure to be able to get trucks in and out
Main problem is when they built the place things were going in by hourse and cart. They were never ment to take artics and never will be. We're still expected to do it though.
I've been down the same road and at 5:30 the gates in front used to be a builders merchants, delivered plasterboard a couple of times and the last time snapped a air line on the bend, hell hole from what I can remember but that was about 2005/6. I can also remember your bosses fh16 as I used to see it in Purfleet edible oil every now and then. Always used to chat with one of your drivers in Purfleet when getting a bacon roll from the burger van in front of the loading bays, he drove a old volvo fh12 and was really tall?
pill hobbler I've just got back from Pura in Purfleet this morning, Loaded yesterday and kipped the night so I just had the drive back today. The boss still has his fh16 but is now pulling a low loader with it so we don't see him with a fridge anymore, well if we do we all know the shit has hit the fan in a big way somewhere along the line. I have trouble with the skip lorry's, They always park on the bend in the far side the industrial est by the scrap metal place. Was sat there for nearly an hour once which isn't good when you've got ten drops on.
I used to deliver building materials in a 26 ton hiab around Hayes and Southall. Spent most of the time with my front and rear corners 2 inches from parked cars, great fun !! Beats driving 5 hours in a straight line all day I suppose.
Its fun in that area isn't it. We do have tight bits we go into in other city's but for some reason, London and surrounding area seems the worst for it.
Langdons Driver (Aimer) here. Good skill , Drive. Shame you didn't have a nearside cam so others could see where the back of your trailer had to go. Stay safe ! Paul
+0utcastAussie Thanks Paul. I have experimented with a head camera the idea being when I look into the mirror you can see what I see but unfortunately I move my head to quickly and all I end up with is a blurry mess. I would like to be able to film in the mirrors as well I just haven't figured out how to do it yet.
Know that road well for 20 years I used to deliver/collect cars/vans on the multi deck transporters, past where you took the first right straight to the bottom nr the 8 ft bridge & left into the compound(purple parking)best time to go was 1st thing 6:30/7 but still a bloody nightmare..
Yes they've changed it now by putting an unsutable for hgv's sign up at the only way into the industrial estate. Not sure how that helps? I got in but on the way out i had to go find somebody to move there car as i couldn't get out.
Must admit, many places are challenging, and I agree with a previous comment, perhaps if more cars were damaged we wouldn't have a problem and that there would be enforcement of parking around junctions. Too many car driving pricks make this job impossible..........park where they want and don't care.......my attitude now......hit the bastards.
O yes, just a tad tight that one. It always makes my laugh when they come running out the houses and watch you driving past there cars. They now we go there so if there that worried why park there?
arent you glad you dont drive a b double like we have here in Aus. Maniacs on wheels they are often tailgating all the 64 ton. like you vid, a true pro. Pity you dont have camera down the side to see the trailer
Its actually very easy once your used to the size of the thing. The one I drive now is an auto and on the motorways its easier to drive then my van. I would say the first few months are hell though, we all go through it, not sure of the size and getting stuck in narrow places. Its all part and parcel of the game.
I once made a bit off a hole in the hedge with my rear over hang which hooked onto a bit off barbed wire fence which sort of unfenced the field. Was told we go there all the time but then the farmer told me its the first time an artic has ever come up here. that was picking up one pallet off cheese from a farm. Were getting more and more off these farm shops these days where they do it them selfs and cut out the middle man. So we are going to more and more farms.
Didn't look too bad tbh. Try delivering to building sites when you had to go down several roads like the last one in London- then there not much room to turn to get back out - that's hard!
Its good isn't it, Last time I was there I got well and truly stuck on the way out. Reached the cross roads and wanted to turn right but two artics turned up coming in. so I couldn't. Both the artics an myself had a pile off traffic behind use so we couldn't revers. Took some sorting out that did. And by the time we had sorted it out another artic and a bus turned up.
@@markpritchard that’s what the cats eyes and rumble strips are for lol. One of our drivers likes to joke that some of the European drivers drive on the rumble strip while using their phone or watching TV. They know somethings wrong and have to look up when the rumbling stops
Easiest way to stop cars parking there would be to keep writing the fucking things off, no vehicle is supposed to park within 35ft of a junction and what pisses me off as a 44 ton truck driver is there is always some wanker who say's "I will get that in there" and after that all you ever hear is "the last truck got in here ok". You drive by the highway code rules right? and regs of the job so why not just stop and make other road users do the same? I do and I can tell you I know if the police are called they will instruct you to make the turn and write it off if they cant get it moved.
yep, I agree. Though I have figured out in my mind that some people do it hoping that you will hit there car so they can then can clame £2000 for a paint job on a car they brought last month for £500.
mark pritchard True they do try but most cars however old are written off if the damage exceeds 50-60% of it's value. Saying that if you call the police and they instruct you to make the turn hitting their car and write it off chances are they will not be paid out from your insurance as they were parked in a place that they shouldn't have been so it's their fault.
Yep, its badly planned. I hate it when I get a member of the public having ago because I'm blocking the road but there isn't any way I can't not block the road. I always think someone gave planning permission for a company this big to be down a tiny road like this knowing there would be delivery's from big lorry's.
mark pritchard True but you have to remember that years ago big trucks weren't as big as they are now, still keep on trucking. All the best and stay safe.
It looks as though the houses were there before the industrial estate. If you want to blame someone then try the local planning committee for an industrial estate to be fed by totally inadequate roads and not people legally parking outside their homes.

Brilliant all that without a f or c word .... well done my man ... i drive round there daily its a nightmare x
I might look calm, But inside my hairy little head i've kill many people lol.

Yes, when I drive to Scotland its a good 6 hours of motorway at night. The challenge there is trying to stay awake.
Hello Mark!!
Hi buddy.
lost count over the years at how many times I have delivered to those estates in that road when I worked out of heathrow
Its fun in that area isn't it. We do have tight bits we go into in other city's but for some reason, London and surrounding area seems the worst for it.

How close was it to the car on the nearside of the trailer on that left turn ? 2 maybe 3 ",, Thats what you get paid the big bucks for...lol
O yes, just a tad tight that one. It always makes my laugh when they come running out the houses and watch you driving past there cars. They now we go there so if there that worried why park there?
Playing mirror pinball...lets see how many mirrors i can kill today..lol
Ive only just come across you ( pardon ???) love the vids, cheers
If its pentons, then it wont be big bucks, no offence to anybody.
how much from north Africa to France. I will not make a sound in the back and I can only pay you once I get to the channel tunnel.
True story bro.
I used to drink in The Scotsman, surprised it's still there. That estate used to be the Crown Cork factory.
Fair play, I'd struggle in a mini
I thought Boston area was bad.. Holy shit.
I've come to the conclusion that London wasn't designed to take Lorries.
At 4:15 on your left I use to work there "Woods Food Service". Southall is a shithole.
arent you glad you dont drive a b double like we have here in Aus.

like you vid, a true pro.
Pity you dont have camera down the side to see the trailer
how much power dose that volvo have?
500bhp. At the time of the video I was at about 38 ton. The boss has a FH16 and he has had it chipped and it put out 700+ bhp
oh nice,my dad drives a man tgx 440,but they have loads of talk so it probs got the same amount as talk as a volvo 480
+TheEditionCentral torque?
I think I gonna give up on truck driver career even though I haven't started it yet :DDD

Got to get out yet 😆
I literally live round here n know every road in the vid, I'm from Hayes which is next to Southall
I also deliver to Foodspeed in Hayes which can be a bit of a pain to revers into sometimes.
You want c some places you deliver to with animal feed had farms where we've had to dig to make it wide enough
I once made a bit off a hole in the hedge with my rear over hang which hooked onto a bit off barbed wire fence which sort of unfenced the field. Thank you.
I have been there few times in the past, pig of a place get in and out. Thank you for pointing out.

Don't know what the problem is, had bigger trucks than you in here drive
Yep, I here that a lot. lol.
That sounds like a V8 560 Scania
LOL, Its a Volvo 520.
Beats the tedium of motorway driving, right? :P
O yes, Fall asleep on the motorways. You soon wake up when you hear the sound of scraping metal and car alarms.
@@markpritchard that’s what the cats eyes and rumble strips are for lol.

I know lets build trading estates in middle of a nice house estate, money over reality
Nice? 🤔
Sod that.
What was clever about that you couldn't see your driving skills 👎👎
