I love when people do a " how to use equipment" segment. Not everyone knows how various equipment works properly and might be afraid to ask. I was also on the treadmill at first till I felt confident enough to use the machines.

Yay, I'm excited for this gym girlie-phase series!
My tip for when I'm feeling nervous about taking up space in the gym: I remind myself that I'm paying for a membership just like everyone else so I deserve to to be there just as much (while staying respectful of course)
YES!! I’m getting better at this with every session :)
Traditional heavy lifts are my jam. I love it when other people discover that they love it. Also forever ago, I read an article on nerdfitness on how to feel comfortable at the gym. It helped me. It's basically the same as what you said.
I would love to see a full work out including your warm up sets!

I hate being at the gym alone but the few times I have gone I went with a friend that was already a member and had the lay of the land. It was a big help and I had a lot of fun.
Love that tactic!
I so love the gym so very excited about this gym-girlie phase. I’m still relatively new to the whole gym thing, so sometimes I feel uncomfortable still, but I noticed that not so much any more which is brill, bc I can be so self conscious when I’m in a new territory! It’s also very interesting I’m looking at these videos (other videos as well) and many content creators are from America and the gyms are so huge there! I would love such a huge gym! I feel like it would definitely be less intimidating too. My gym can be so full in peak hours sometimes there are queues to equipment super annoying having to wait for every piece. But hey… anyhow, excited for you, hope you’ll love it and it will be an effective disruption from the home 4 walls :)
Thank you!
Just wanted to comment I can't wait for more videos of your gym girlie-phase series! I love these more vlog type videos
Yay!
So funny to hear someone else "scared to take up space".. lol I thought that it was just me. I will say the older I get, the better I am about dumping those thoughts, but it's super cool to see someone vocalize that and quickly sort it into the garbage, sharing process with us! Love the gym-phase, looks like a great gym and I can't wait to see what you do with it.
A couple of people I know are experiencing some kind of exercise burnout, I thought it only happened to pro-athletes. I'd love more info on that.
Thank you for watching!! ❤️
LOVED hearing you talk about your workout and your notes afterwards, that was super helpful!! 😊 For all the fitness content I've watched, I'm not sure I've ever heard someone assess their workout like that haha 😅 That was great!
I do it after every session and it’s super helpful!
Thank you for sharing! I would love to see what a push and a skills day looks like for you! Something really resonated with me when you showed us your programming ☺️🙌

I really liked this video. Also love that you addressed the horizontal rows. That was gonna be my question! 😂😂😂
Glad you enjoyed!
Love this! I love going to the gym - I just like using heavy, big weights I don’t have at home 😊 love seeing you do movements bc your technique is perfect, obv. Please keep sharing your gym routine ;)
Awww thank you!
Like you I started training at gym because I want to lift heavy. Good luck!
thanks!
Not that I'm surprised based on your great programming, but I really appreciate that you noted you were in and out in about 40 min. I had a friend the other day say how, with walking to and from the gym (10 min each way) and working out, it was "2 hours he just didn't have, so it was hard to get a workout in", and I was like-why are you working out for 1.5 hours dude!? It's always nice to see reinforcement of the idea that (while obviously finding time to get to the gym can be hard) you don't need to spend HOURS to get the benefits.
I just started going to the gym last week! It's just planet fitness so pretty basic and also crowded and cramped, but I've been loving it. I worked out at home (with dumbbells) for years and like you, I just felt the need to get out of the house more. I was really bored of my home workouts and dumbbells so the change up has been amazing. I do feel uncomfortable at times but I'm getting less anxious each time I go. I would love to see more gym content, particularly a full body workout! I'm a bit lost on what to do for full body workouts now that I have so many options at the gym.
Coming soon!
I watched your "Start strength training NOW." video and it has made me start strength training after about an 6 year hiatus so thanks for the push. I'm starting very slow and light and will increase as I improve my form as I'm pretty much a complete beginner. Do you have a video, or can you film a video about push and pull forms of exercise? I'm a little lost of what exactly that means and how I can implement that into my routine.
Yep! I talked about it here:

Awesome! Good luck on your gym journey 👍
Thanks :)
We used to be members of the local Y here. I enjoy group classes but I found I can do most of those at home without having to drive somewhere. LOL
Love that you found a system you enjoy!
Love ❤️
So glad you enjoyed!
Okay so I have a couple questions (sorry!!). I go to the gym and I use the bar to do RDLs (currently at 82lbs ayyyy) BUT I notice that my grip seems to give out before my legs do. Like I KNOW my legs can handle this weight, but how can I get my grip to catch up?
second, I am intimidated by conventional deadlifts. Do I absolutely need to do those or can I just stick with RDL's?
and third (omg sorry I just overthink) - I'm working on my pullup strength and doing those scapular pull-ups to build up strength but I need to use gloves cause my palms start hurting otherwise. Is that still going to help me build up my grip eventually? Like is it cheating to use gloves for pullups?
Hey! I have answers :)
1- In terms of grip, it will just take time. I'd buy some lifting straps to help.
2- You don't "need" to do anything, so RDLs are perfect!
3- Not cheating at all! You can use gloves or your gym may have chalk to help.
Hope that helps!
@@JustinaErcole Thanks a ton! Really appreciate it :)
Woman I want a whole week of workouts at the gym.

Yayyy!
smack the bag of frozen berries on the counter to break them up.... taadaa... problem solved
(you can always tell when someone did not grow up with low access to financial resources... vs some one who did)
I did. I also put it in the microwave. But thank you for shaming me.
@@JustinaErcole it wasn’t shaming but when you said you were going to throw them in the trash it about made my head explode- those are expensive
@@burn_that_butter6829 Got it! Next time I will be sure to document attempting to break them apart on the counter, putting them in the microwave, attempting to slam them apart again, pondering if it was a risk to eat them since they had obviously thawed and then re-frozen a few times, explain how our freezer has been acting up lately, and then continue with the point of the video. That was incredibly irresponsible of me to cut out. I sincerely apologize.
