I owe so much to Brad and Dave. I'm a metal head and guitar nerd but this man's art has impacted me my whole life and still does. To say I hung off every word Brad said is an understatement. Got to run their backline and tech for him in 2011 a few times, and what a privilege it was.
I really appreciate Brad's thoughtful, candid and intelligent responses to all of the questions. It provides us as the audience with some good insights.
Love the Jimmie Page story... I was in a successful decade old "kiddie" band that suddenly had lost its singer/guitar player to older and more experienced players. The three of us that were left were kicking around material like Steely Dan and The Police. We needed a singer so I decided to give it a try as I had done backups on bass. Anyhoo playing bass and singing lead isn't the easiest. I picked "Like Wow Wipout" as it has breaks to sing then play... My band mates were scratching their head when I put on the Hoodoos... I explained the singing vibe and I guess they knew we needed some kind of vocalist in the band. We kind of pulled it off after several rehearsals. The guitar player thought I was just nuts at first but kinda liked the rave up ending. He never met a guitar solo he didn't like... Anyways after several rehearsals he told me he really dug Brad_s playing on that song and respected the guitar tones... Well...That band never really went any where as college, kids, work, and family got in the way. Plus we had the worst name in the tradition of taking a letter from each members name... Pat was the drummer, Mitch was the guitar player and me Steve was the bass player... It was a punk rock kinda world in the late 70s... Worst name ever "PMS". For Pat, Mitch, and Steve. I remember a couple gigs and some lake parties but off into band flotsam and jetsom we floated...
Great guitarist. Love his playing over the years. Keep on doing it laddie.

The Gurus have been Rock & Roll heroes of mine for almost 40 years. I am so glad they are still making music.
Let's hope Hoodoo Gurus are still with us in 9 years how awesome it would be for them to get to 50 years.
I love Brad's guitar playing.
Saw two shows recently. Great band!! Always have really enjoyed listening to Brad and the Gurus
This guy inspired me as a young guitar slinger - Once seen and heard live the effect was mind-blowing - Thanks Brad and keep rockin it!
