In this episode of the Figuring Out podcast, we are in conversation with Rana Daggubati. Actor, producer and entrepreneur, Rana Daggubati best known as the vicious antagonist 'Bhallaladeva' from the record-breaking Indian franchise, Baahubali, Rana, however, began his mainstream film career as the producer of the National Award-winning film Bommalata (2004).

On the back of the phenomenal success of the Baahubali franchise, Rana went to earn another first with India's first underwater film, The Ghazi Attack (2017), which was a commercial success and garnered him another prestigious National Award.

One thing really like about Rana's interviews is that he always stresses the word 'Telugu' whenever he gets an opportunity. Unlike bollywood actors, Telugu actors don't feel shy to identify themselves with their roots and culture. I knew 4 languages including telugu which is my mother tongue. No offense to any other languages, but telugu sounds really superb when you speak or listen to it.
దేశ భాషలందు తెలుగు లెస్స
True
True
Absolutely
No one can understand this other than Telugu people
One of the Best Podcasts I have ever seen of an Indian as a guest. Rana sir is probably one of the most Knowledgeable person in Indian Entertainment industry and I am sure he will create the Next big Studio in India. This is why Nepotism is south is different because they never take anything for granted and they are still connected with their Roots 👏
OMG, Rana is so well put together. He doesn’t try to create an image or anything. He is all that he. Great speaker and storyteller.
Always wanted to Thank Rana...for investing in Amar Chitra Katha...only cause of him...we r able to purchase those books for this generation....Ur contribution to our culture n humanity...is incomparable 🙏🙏
I could listen to this podcast even if it stretched out for an hour more. Thanks for having Rana as a guest😍
Kya yr Deeksha 😂
I watched the Ghazi Attack the first day at a local theatre in Vizag in telugu. I was literally shocked to watch the entire jam packed theatre to stand up for the national anthem scene. Vizag people were so much connected to the film. It was one of a kind ❤
From vizag❤
This is truly the most intelligent podcast of India.
Guests are great. Interviewer a bit prone to gossiping and being shallow. Set fancy. Must be very well-connected to get such guests.
LOL CHUTI.😂😂😂 YAAAAA
Definetly not he may knows many things about business but when it comes to movies he have to learn how to critic a movie first!
54:00 totally agree ❤ that's why most of the North indian love southern movie ❤
Pls don't lie man 🙏 Us South Indians and Y'all North Indians hate each other. Why deny this ?
More with Kunal shah plz
Raj Shamani is the new Ranveer Allahabadia!! I don't really watch him now but used to love him at his start because of his passion towards the entrepreneurial minded people and towards the people who were trying to bring change in society with the startups and businesses.
This is how a podcast should be. Hands down the best chit-chat.
Got to know Rana here as a person.. Didn't know much about him watched him recently in "The Ghazi Attack" . Totally saw a new version of him.. Rana is an amazing person who is still attached to his Roots.. Lots of Love....
I can hear Rana all the day, he always has something new and interesting to say. He's well articulated and well known of his roots and family.
Hands down the best podcast 😍😍
Thank you so much🙌♥️
One thing I have noticed is that Rana, through the podcast, was talking smoothly, like the same level of energy. Soft Spoken and very humble. Thank u, raj!🫶
Never thought Rana could be so dam inteligent and have knowledge about almost everything and fresh perspective i feel Raj like how he got to know south more and the Hindi bubble of ours

Hey @rajshamani do drop the anchor & the boat article curious to know more.
Such a great podcast
Raj bhai can you do 2 podcast in a week .
Raj is intellect and he knows what he converse but when he’s dealing with things he’s naive, it’s ok to ask or learn.. Don’t keep talking that he’s seen a lot of South Indian movies! Raj is still sounding stereotypical and I want Raj to inculcate.. I’m happy and excited that he’s pulling out so many details out of him but some good amount of research is still needed! Raj is conclusive and Rana was trying to say that…!!!!
one of the best podcast
35:16 please give the link of that article... I am very curious about it.
Not even a word on Anime/Manga when Amar Chitra Katha came up.. seems it's still not mainstream in India..US caught up
I have never seen a single SIGNIFICANT Bollywood movie on Hindu mythology, culture, Indian way of living between 1950-1970 but whole South movies were filled with Historical, Pauranik movies between that era..!
It's a history and culture
There is no mythology
Rana ❤️
♥️ From Hyderabad
Thank you so much for doing this it's Immensely valuable ✅, Learned so much about storytelling, understanding different India 1,2,3 and much more on his philosophy for how we think before investing and starting a new project , understanding people's emotions
Thank you raj bhai ❤️🙌🏼
Bruh. Ballal deva was an interesting and intelligent man 🥶
Enti Rana Anna, I know you're a mature guy from all the other interviews I have seen before. But this podcast, verey level. I didn't know the amount of clarity you have as an artist, businessman is this great. I wish you best of luck. I wish you a healthy life to bring more passion into films and entertain us, and bring glory to Indian cinema and mana telugu cinema. Thanks for the podcast Raj, I didn't know you before, you have a great presence. but importantly the follow up questions you asked, I couldn't imagine better ones. This has been a great learning. Thankyou everyone involved in this podcast.
@raj Shamani- just curious to know why would one need a headset when you are sitting across the table

Also, one of the best podcasts ever!❤
Anyone found it?
why are the subtitles off ?
Raj you are a great host
Can you share the article about Boat or Anchor ? That was a very interesting.
Thanks!!
Hey, Please share the article of Georgia tech.
Raj u said there is a pattern that u noticed in Telugu films that pattern is true for the commercial films that pattern is for mainstream people that hero centric films, i personally feel there are other films too which are small budget films those r very relatable like quality based content i feel those kind of films fill ur soul, those films r less bcoz not all people open-minded😬and i can understand their point of view too bcoz ultimately film making is business for them and Rana tried different kind of films unlike mainstream actors
Rana is way smarter than raj...
Raj could have been asked some more greate questions....
That rana can be answer but raj could not even think where rana's mind stand...
The TELUGU torch bearer
5:29 i never thought he's acrophobic
We Have The Rana In The House Telugu. Ppll Getting all The Attention
