Telugu people overdo Pattu sarees with extremely gaudy maggam work blouses, which honestly look tacky. I've seen some maggam work blouses where the work is just enough, not too much, and enhances the beauty of the saree. But the majority of these maggam work blouses are waaaay overdone.
The point that I am trying to make - there is beauty and elegance in simplicity. Wear a statement piece, and let the rest enhance the statement piece. When you wear gaudy everything - it is difficult on the eyes of the on-lookers.
