How to knit mini poncho for beginners

I made this last year but without all the extra fabric at the neck. I just learned to block so I only blocked it this week. Now everyone wants me to knit them one. Thank you so very much.

I finally figured out the pattern. for large size: 31 stitches caston, row 1 and 2 perl, < row 3 knit 2 yo> alternate rows until desire length. 2 rectangles, bind off in perl. yay! love the pattern! thank you Ruby!

Hi Ruby, couldn't I just do the whole thing on my circular needles? Just cast on double the amount and mark the front from back and do the pattern on front and back? If you understand what I'm saying. Just so then you wouldn't have to see up the sides???

Yes you need two exactly the same.
